    POKÉMON MYSTERY DUNGEON
    Explorers of Haven

    Fr58fVw.jpg
Welcome. This is the portal that leads you to the world of Pokémon. Beyond this gateway, many new adventures and fresh experiences await your arrival. Only Pokémon inhabit this world. There are no trainers, nor will there be in the course of this roleplay. Be strong, stay smart. And be victorious!

You are a Pokémon that has just arrived in the village of Haven, with the goal of joining its renowned Exploring Guild and starting your training as one of their Explorers. The guild is led by its founder, an imposing Steel/Psychic type Pokémon called Bronzong, and his right-hand and secretary, Snubbull. The guild aims to educate and train young Pokémon into becoming full-fledged Explorers; Pokémon that are fit to go into Mystery Dungeons, carry out quests and rescues and sometimes even explore completely new areas.

    Guild Regulations:
    1. Follow all PC and RPC rules.
    2. This RP is rated T, meaning you will have to restrict violence, gore and romance to a mild level.
    3. Be fair, nice and respectful towards other players. This also implies no godmodding, bunnying without permission, or anything of the sort.
    4. Please try to stay active, and consult the GM if anything is amiss.
    5. Have fun!

    Locations:

Haven is the town you will arrive in in your first post. Below is a map of the town with all its facilities. You may control any of the NPCs (except Bronzong) at your leisure, but try to keep their character as described below.

    Spoiler:

From the beginning, there will be 5 dungeons available for your to explore, of various difficulty levels. Guide levels regarding which dungeons are safe to enter are stated for your convenience.

    Spoiler:

    Bulletin Board:

    Spoiler:

    Mechanics:

As opposed to joining the guild and forming a rescue team, in this RP you join the guild as a solo Pokémon Explorer. Every IC day, new missions will be posted to the Bulletin Board that you can take on with up to 4 others. Form groups in the OOC thread and go on missions - if you so please. This will be a sandbox RP, meaning you can explore the town of Haven and the Dungeons as much as you like. Do take care not to go into a dungeon that is above your level, though. The more Pokémon in your group, the higher level dungeons you will be able to challenge.
Every member of the guild will receive a Warp Crystal, which can be used to return to Haven from any Dungeon in the country. It is a fragment of the large crystal in town, and through its resonation allows you to teleport back to the Square within mere seconds.

Leveling up is done by acquiring experience. This can be done through going on missions, exploring Mystery Dungeons, training at the dojo, or battling another Pokémon. I will leave you to decide your own leveling, but if you consistently overestimate your experience gained, I may tell you to take it down a peg. You are welcome to include an EXP bar or percentage somewhere in each IC post, to keep track of experience gained in a more detailed manner, but it's not required.

If you would like to take on a mission, take a look at the Bulletin Board in the IC thread. Once you've chosen one, mention it in the OOC thread and it will be marked in red on the Bulletin Board, so others cannot take the same one. After taking one on, you will first have to go see your client to get the details of the mission. Finally, you can go get some last-minute supplies, or just head out to the dungeon. When you've finished your mission, you can report back to your client, or if you catch an Outlaw, you can bring them to the Guild, and Officer Watchog will take them off your hands.

The bluff was bathed in the light of the sun as it crawled up the sky. A small Pokémon standing atop it watched its climb and listened to the sound of the roaring waves as they slammed onto the cliff below it. The first sounds of activity started coming from the town square, to which the Pokémon decided it was time to go, and it skipped along the path back to the city center.

It came by the shopkeeper Gulpin, who was groggily getting his store set up for today's customers - no time (or mood!) for greetings. The Kricket Inn was never too active in the morning, save for Kricketune doing some quick morning cleanup. His brother couldn't be bothered to do more than turn the sign on the door to 'OPEN' at this early hour. The Pokémon walked on, past the large Crystal on center square, and onto the Move Master's house. Pink smoke had begun streaming from the top of Musharna's red roof - she must be up already too.
Down the path, it came across Klefki's cottage. There was the familiar rumbling from inside the house, but the small wooden stand outside was still abandoned for the time being. But then, there it was. The Guildhouse. The largest building in town, and ever imposing for those unfamiliar with it. Sadly, the small Pokémon couldn't look inside - after all, it wasn't a Member - so there was no telling if anyone was up yet. Still, knowing Snubbul, she was probably hard at work already.

The Pokémon turned around, now facing the path that led outside of Haven. The town was limited by the bridge that crossed the freshwater creek. It wondered; what kind of Pokémon would come passing that bridge today? What kind of adventures would unfold to them? It was all in their hands, or paws, after all.

Your first post should begin with you arriving in Haven and registering at the Guild Office, where you will receive your Explorer Badge, Treasure Bag and Warp Crystal from Snubbul. After that... it's all yours!

Rumors have saying that a mysterious guy from the Ice Lands, arrived on Heaven Town... Oh wait, that's me. My name is Gelius (But friends call me Gel, and girls that i am acquainted to call me Gelly). I came from the Ice Lands. Wait where is that? I forgot... Anyway... I came to Heaven Town to complete my dream!

To become the best Explorer and Rescuer in the world! Yet... I had nowhere to start my dream... Wait i have! Bronzong's Guild. And... Mom said me something before i left.

"You are going to make so many friends aren't you?" Her lest words roamed my head. Yeah... Like i was a easy guy to be befriended.

I reached the Town. I looked to the Map from the Town. Why these things are hard to see? Anyways... I found the Office. I walk through the door. I found a Snubbull stopping me. "Why hello. Welcome to the Guild's Office."

    "Th---" I was interrupted.

"Now get out! I don't want sellers, or hangouts here!" He was ready to kick me out.

    Finn the Archen

    Current Team
    archen.gif

    Location: Haven
    Level: 10

    Poke: None yet
    Inventory: None yet

    Moveset

    Leer, Wing Attack, Double Team,
Rock Throw, Double Team, [EGG] Dragon Pulse

It was nearing dawn when an Archen arrived in the forest outskirts of Haven, his talons were covered in dew of the blades of grass nearby. His feathers were still messy, he had been newly awakened by his passion and dreams, but those dreams that were still in his mind will become a reality, soon. The morning sun was becoming more and more visible as he was approaching the village, its golden warmth began to cover his beak. The dirt path he was following out of the forest led into a sturdy wooden bridge, underneath were some rocks that were continuously being imbued in clear river water. He was greeted by a sign that said "Welcome to Haven" written in cursive caricature. The Archen smiled, after 1 and a half days of walking, he had finally arrived at his destination - Haven, home of the Explorer's Guild!

The first thing he noticed was the dojo, it was a big hut equipped with two water wheels, outside, an Accelgor was gazing into the distance, as if, he was waiting for someone. The Archen shot him a "Hello" but the Accelgor didn't respond. Up ahead, the road forked to the left and to the right. He took the right road and soon came upon a small shack with a Klefki having his morning tea. "Good morning sir!" The Archen waved at the Fairy type. "G-good morning! Welcome to my Appraisal store!" The Klefki said and introduced himself as the Keymaster Klefki. He asked the Archen for a valuable box that he wished to be opened, but the First Bird Pokemon shook his head. "I'm new here," the Archen said. "Ah! Sorry to bother you! But if you have boxes! You know where to go!" Explained the Klefki. "Its OK! And thank you, I'll see you soon!" The Archen bid his farewells to the Klefki and headed on his way. Up north, he approached a strange house in the edge of town, it had ominous pink smoke escaping from its chimney, with no owner in sight.

Then, just as he was about to turn back, he saw something at captured his attention. It was glowing a hue of blue, and the Archen quickly flew over to see it the mysterious object. It was a thick gem of towering height that glowed azure in color, the First Bird Pokemon stared at it for quite some time and was off. Next to the gem was a large logging house called the Kriket Inn, where a Kricketot and Kricketune were busy cleaning the inside and out of the tavern. Next, he headed towards the western side of town, there was a stall that held various items for sale - from orbs to accessories, everything was in stock. A lone green blob was busy taking inventory of the various goods, as the Archen approached him, it retorted and exclaimed, "Sorry sir! Were not open yet! GO AWAY NOW!" The Archen tried to apologize but the Gulpin was too busy to even notice, instead, he continued on his way.

Once he reached the center of the town, a massive building was in sight, the Haven Exploration Guild! He entered the doors of the guild and nervousness started to kick in, he approached a counter a few meters in front of a big board pinned with requests. A small pink dog Pokemon was scurrying around the guild, but when she saw the newcomer she stopped and approached him, "Well, well, look what we have here?" The Snubbull asked. "Im here to apply as a guild apprentice," the Archen politely said. "Oh good! Come, follow me!" The Snubbull escorted him to the second floor, entered a big iron door and came back with a chest. "Tell me, Archen, what is your name?" The Snubbull asked, while semi opening the chest. The Archen, intrigued by the contents of the chest, spoke up, "My name is Finn!" He smiled.

"Well, Finn the Archen, welcome to the exploration guild!" The Snubbull opened the chrst and revealed the contents one by one. "This is your Explorer Badge, show it proudly, ot signifies you being an explorer!" She handed him a Pokeball shaped badge with angel wings which he fastened on his chest. " Here's your Treasure Bag, use it to store items your found in your travels! And lastly, your Warp Crystal, mined from the blue rock in town, I'm sure you've seen it?" Finn nodded to that question and gladly accepted both items, "The Warp Crystal can be used to transport you back to the town," the secretary explained.

"Again, I welcome you to the guild!"

    A BIG WORLD
    images

    Damien the Ralts
    Level 10
Growl, Confusion, Double Team, Teleport, Disable
    156/270

Damien came into a small town that he recognized from pictures. The surrounding land was littered with trees and the sound of the nearby crashing waterfall could be heard. He looked behind him and thought about how easily that bridge might break. A stray flamethrower, a strong hydro pump. Stop worrying, you'll be okay. Stop being so scared.

Damien saw a large building that was unmistakably the Guild. He knew he had to do this, so there was no backing out for him. He had spent his whole life being scared. This would be when that would end.

Damien tried to take the whole surrounding area in. He needed to, because that's what he had to do for his teleport to work. The better image he had of the area, the easier it was to teleport there and the farther away he could do it from. He was always careful to make sure he had a place in mind to teleport to.

Entering the Guild, Damien saw a large board that was cluttered with pictures, and saw a small, angry looking pink-pokemon manning a desk. Damien had no idea where to go, so that was where he started.

"Excuse me ma'am, where do I go to sing up for the Guild?" Damien asked.

"I'm sorry young lady, but this guild is for strong and the brave. Maybe come back once you become a beautiful Kirlia?" the Pokemon replied. At that comment, Damien's face became flushed with red.

"I'm a boy and I am ready," Damien mumbled.

"Excuse me?" the Pokemon said, quite irritated.

"I said that I'm a boy and that I am ready!" Damien said, with more gusto than he thought he could muster. He slightly cowered after saying this.

"Look, it's okay. If you think you are ready, you must know that your training will be intense. Mystery dungeons are nothing to play around with. Just so you know, I'm Snubbull. The Guildmaster's secretary. You will be seeing a lot of me here," Snubbull informed Damien.

"Um... I'm Damien, a Ralts as you probably know," Damien replied.

"Nice to meet you Damien. Now that you just gave me all of the information I needed to know, here are a few items that you probably need. Here's your explorer badge, which will prove to others that you in fact, are an explorer," Damien grabbed the small badge," this is your treasure bag," which Damien happily accepted. It was brown and was easily strapped on like a book bag. "And this is your warp crystal. It will safely warp you out of any dungeon when you get in trouble." Damien saw a small blue crystal that didn't look like too much.

"It's okay. I won't need that. I can just teleport whenever I need to," Damien replied.

"If you say so. I'll have one, so you can always come grab one from me," Snubbull said rather annoyed. "Nonetheless, you are officially a part of Bronzong's guild! You can choose any of the rooms on the second floor."

With that, Damien felt a sense of pride and a bit of fear at the same time. He knew he had finally accomplished something, but it was still going to be dangerous. He'd be away from his family and would have to meet new people, also know as more trouble.

  • Fogg
    Haven Town
    It Begins...

    Ugh... Sunlight...

The rising sun's rays had made their way to Fogg's baggy eyes, and woke him from his peaceful sleep. Although he was a floating cloud of crimson-ish gas, he felt that his sleep had not been enough, and that his 'body' was not ready. He regretted having camped out in the open fields, and briefly considered looking for a cave and resuming his sleep before reason kicked in and he remembered everything. That's right... Today... it begins... the day I set myself apart from the common Gastly... he thought, Explorer's Guild... Here I come.

With a clear sky and no trace of any pesky wind that might drag him off to who-knows where, Fogg marched (Or flew? Floated? Anyway, you get the point) straight into Haven Town. He had not camped out far from the entrance, and only a bridge separated him from the rest of the town; to him, it was nothing since he could just float over it to get to the other side. Fogg decided to head straight for the guild, and would save checking out the town for later. One building drew his attention temporarily - the Dojo. Interesting... But I think I'll check out the Guildhouse first.

Without any further ado, he walked right in. Many Pokémon were outside, hesitationg whether to go in or go home out of pure nervousness. It wasn't Fogg's case, though. He walked-I mean flated his way inside, with many of the nervous Pokémon turning their heads at the crimson-cloud-ish Pokémon. Fogg took notice of this and sighed. For a moment, he leered at them before his mind told him it was not worth being bothered by that. Right... I have something far more important to do than concern myself about these... Ah, forget it. It's time to sign up.

He reached the counter, where a Snubull appeared to be working really hard, processing files and applications and whatnot. "Hello." Fogg said, "Excuse me. I would like to join the Guild."

Secretary Snubull was to busy to look at the cloudy Pokémon with judgemental eyes, and took out what appeared to be an application form. She would probably have given it to Fogg to fill it in, but given his lack of limbs she'd have to fill it out for him. "Name, please?"

    "Fogg."

"Okay." she said as she wrote down. "Fogg the Gast-"

"Just Fogg." he said with a hint of annoyance.

"Right..." she said somewhat sarcastically, writing the Gastly part down anyways, to Fogg's dismay. Still, it wasn't his fault to have been born a Gastly. Even if he was unlike all those other pranksters, he had no choice but to live with that. So he let that go. "Okay, Fogg." she said, "You're almost good to go. Gender? Any special condition that we should be aware of?"

"Male." Fogg replied, "And not that I know of."

"Okay. Well, welcome aboard then, Fogg!" Snubull said, "If you'd like, head on to the second floor to choose a room that fits you! And here, your Treasure Bag! The Explorer's Badge and Warp Crystal are inside! The latter is to teleport yourself out of a dungeon, but you'll learn more about it later!"

"Okay. Thanks." Fogg said. He made sure that it was all in place. He grabbed the bag with his tongue and stepped away from the counter to let more Pokémon do what they had to do and also let the secretary do her job. Then he quickly set his bag down on the floor. He found his lack of sleep was beginning to take its toll on his mind and he was feeling tired, so he decided to, for the moment, just hang around the ground floor.

    The Town of Haven

Was this the place? Was he finally here?

Argus's small paws produced barely any sounds as they slammed against the ground. His breath was heavy with excitement as he sprinted towards the bridge that led into the town of Haven. The journey had been long, but after a few weeks of traversing a wide array of landscapes and encountering numerous pokémon he'd never seen before, he had arrived at the home of Explorers' Guild. His body twitched with excitement.

He slowed down to a walk as he neared the bridge. The babbling of the creek and the chirping of bird pokémon were the only noises in the area. It was peaceful here, but it was filled with the promise of interesting commotion and adventure. Argus needed a moment to take it all in. He closed his eyes and filled his lungs with the clear air. It was amazing.

But there would be time for that later. He needed to get to the guild now! And there was no mistaking it: the building directly ahead, the largest one to greet visitors as they entered Haven, just had to be it. He took off at a run once more, not stopping until he practically crashed into the guild's front doors.

He let out a joyous laugh. Inside the guild a number of pokémon were running around, going about their daily business. So far this day had seemed like a fantastically auspicious one, which gave Argus confidence. He continued forward to the front desk, where a small pink pokémon stood. Her face was contorted into a deep frown as she examined some papers. Or maybe that was just the normal face of a Snubbull? Argus wasn't sure nor did he care; he was too wrapped up in the moment to even notice.

"Hello!" he yelled, startling the salmon pit bull. "I'm here to join the guild! You're Snubbull, right? The guild's secretary?"

The fairy dog glared at Argus as she picked up some of the papers she had just dropped. He simply smiled back at her. "Yes, I would be she. Join the guild, you say?" Her nose twitched as she sniffed the air. "What makes you think you're qualified?"

Argus cocked his head to the side, the red scarf he had been wearing around his neck flaring out. "My qualifications? Well I'm ambitious, curious, affable and charming, from what I've been told. Surely that's enough?"

The Snubbull froze, a baffled expression crossing her face. She was understandably putt off by Argus's odd and forthright demeanor. That was often the effect he had on people he'd just met.

"If you say so," she grumbled, turning back to the front desk. "What's you're name?"

    "Argus. Argus Eld."

The Snubbull nodded, scribbling on a sheet of paper. "Where are you from?"

"The Ember Forests," he responded calmly.

She raised an eyebrow at that. "Oh? That's certainly a ways away. You made that journey all the way here on your own?"

Argus nodded. When he did, the motion caused a couple of berries to drop from his scarf. He picked them back up and placed them back into the red fabric, right next to his map.

Another look of bewilderment spread across the Snubbull's face, though this time less stern and more impressed. "Please, follow me."

He did so, trailing behind the little canine as she led him to the guild's second floor. When they got there, she took him to what appeared to be a storage room of sorts. She rifled through some items before handing him a satchel.

"Your treasure bag. And here's your explorer badge and a warp crystal," she stated, handing him the items. "Welcome to the guild! For now, go and introduce yourself to the others. Formal initiation will follow shortly."

He nodded again, this time with much more enthusiasm. "Thank you!" he chirped, placing the satchel over his shoulder as he ran back into the main part of the guild. Had he just done it? Was he seriously now a part of the explorers' guild? He gave a hearty laugh as he jumped around, excitement swelling within him. This was the start of something great, he could tell.

  • Niishi the Nidoran(F)

Niishi sighed, looking around at the scene before her. A small village was slowly coming to life, with doors opening and Pokemon stretching as they walked through the streets below. It looked just as Elder Scolipede said it would.

She had finally made it to the place where her dream would come true. She'd finally be a brave and strong Rescuer, rescuing Pokemon in need, exploring Mystery Dungeons and hunting for fabulous treasures..... She shook her head, and excitedly began racing down the hill. The Nidoran tripped over a stone and rolled the rest of the way down, uncerimoniously landing on her front paws and chin. She quickly retrieved her P100 that had fallen with her and began going towards the town once more.

Looking around the buildings she passed, Niishi found an Inn playing something that sounded like beautiful practice music, a house with an oddly slanted red roof with smoke spewing out a chimney, and a big Dojo that seemed closed at the moment. Then she saw it.

The most beautiful one here. A Guild for training Explorer Wannabes like her. Once again running towards her goal, Niishi stopped when she saw another Pokemon there, in a small entrance to the Guild. Two actually. Not being one for socializing, she sat and debated whether to wait or just go right on in, when she realized that what she wanted meant she needed to be straightforward and actually speak up.

She stood up again, picking up her Poke in the process, and saw one of them move in through a door, carrying a small bag. The other sat behind a plank of polished wood and began reveiwing something before it, most likely some papers. Niishi came boldly up to the other Pokemon, who she now knew was a Snubbull. The Snubbull peered at her as she walked up. She gave a questioning glance at the Poke Niishi held between her teeth.

"Excuse me miss, but this isn't a store," she warned in a stern voice.
"No! I- I wanna join this Guild!" Niishi responded loudly. "This is the Guild.... Right? The one with Master Bronzong!?"

The Snubbull kept her expression as she answered. "Yes, it is.... Well, in that case, you'll need to tell me your name and a few other things about you..." She trailed off when she noticed the Nidoran was holding her breath to puff her chest out.

"Ok, my name is Niishi the Nidoran! I came from the Southern Village! Elder Scolipede told me of this place! My dream is to become the best Rescuer ever! I want-"

Snubbull shook her head violently. "Woah, that's too fast there! Did you say "Southern Village?" Niishi nodded, still puffing her chest. "Nad you're Nychy?"

    "Niishi."

"Right, Niishi... Here's your Treasure Bag. It contains an Explorer Badge to let others know you work here, and a Warp Crystal for escaping from Dungeons. Go ahead and move all your items, along with that, in your Treasure Bag," she motioned at the Poke on the floor beside Niishi. "There is no entrance payment."

"Oh, I have no bag... I only came with 200 Poke and an Apple.... Most of the money is gone and so is the Apple," Niishi replied. Snubbull sighed and pulled a bag out from behind the desk.

"Well, now you do. You should work to earn enough money for buying other items from the stores around town and use the Bag to hold them," with that, she turned to another Pokemon making their way over. Quite a few Pokemon were coming this way as well, so Niishi let her breath out and began moving again after putting the Poke in her Bag as Snubbull instructed.

Looking at the literal doorway to her new life, she shivered before going inside.

  • Poob
    Explorer's Guild

Poob held his head high as he walked through the little town they called Haven. Pokemon left and right were beginning to emerge from their various houses, setting up shop for the day. The Poochyena briefly glanced at a groggy Gulpin setting up his shop rather sloppily. How typical of a commoner, he thought before looking away with a scoff.

"Call this place a haven? For commoners, perhaps. Nothing but a fool's paradise," Poob thought to himself as he cast brief glances at the busying Pokemon. But it didn't matter. Despite the unworthiness of most of the Pokemon here, there was one place where the Poochyena knew he would be welcomed; a place that would recognize his worth.

It wasn't difficult to find, of course: the Explorer's Guild, the largest building in town. Poob gazed up at it with a grin, images of him being the head of the guild already racing through his mind. This large, imposing building was where his destiny awaited; where his dreams would begin.

Of course, within the building, Pokemon were already hurrying about and starting their day up. The one Pokemon who was the most noticeable however was the one scurrying about at the front desk: a small pink Pokemon. Poob had heard of this Pokemon: the guild's secretary, Snubbul. The Poochyena gave a toothy grin as he walked up to what would most likely be his future subordinate.

"Stop your scurrying about for a moment," Poob spoke, his tone commanding. "I need to speak with you."

The Snubbul didn't seem to hear him, however, and just kept on sorting through papers and getting things set up.

Poob, irritated, cleared his throat rather loudly. This caught Snubbul's attention and she finally turned to him. Her look was initially quizzical, before becoming one of apparent recognition.

    "You're... Poob, correct?"

Poob nodded briskly. "Indeed, it is I."

Snubbul sighed, shuffling through some papers until she pulled out an envelope with a rather messily tacked-on stamp with the letter P.

"You didn't have to send us letters saying you were coming, you know. Just ask us and we'll-"

The Snubbul was however cut off by Poob, who chuckled a bit before shaking his head. "That is where you are incorrect, Snubbul. For a presence as powerful as mine, you should all prepare yourselves and be sure to give me a worthy welcome. It would only be fair of me to tell alert you that you would be receiving such an esteemed guest. I am not one for surprise visits, after all."

Snubbul just looked at him for a moment, somewhat dull-faced, before placing the envelope into the trash can beneath the counter. "Uh... right. So, did you want to become an explorer or not?"

"Ahaha. But of course," Poob said. "But first, we should get to the feast. Where is the banquet hall you have set up in my honor?"

"..." Snubbul was silent, sighing, before muttering to herself, "Arceus, another oddball..."

"Alright, alright, you'll get your banquet, but later," she lied, just wanting to get this over with. "First, let me make you an official explorer by giving you what every explorer needs!"

Poob scoffed and nodded. "But of course. Present me with my tools, Snubbul."

Snubbul then proceeded to go and shuffle through some more things inside the drawers of the front desk before emerging with a bag.

"Here," she said, setting the items down on the desk. "This bag is your Treasure Bag. You can store items you find in dungeons in here. I've put your Explorer badge in there as well, which shows you're one of us. And then there's the warp crystal; a handy little tool to let you escape from dungeons. For now, that's all you get. Understood?"

"But of course," Poob said with a nod. He reached his paw out and took the strap of the bag, slinging it over his head and strapping it to his back. With his head he reached in and took the Explorer badge, which he promptly attached to his fur.

He beamed a toothy smile. "Well done, Snubbul. You will be of great use to me in the future," the Poochyena said before he turned to begin his journey. After he'd proven himself with his first mission, all he had to do was find the guild master and then... everything would be his.

"What a weird guy," Snubbul said as she observed him leaving. But she just shrugged. "Hmm. As long as he doesn't cause too much trouble."

    Lotad
    Apprentice-to-be

    Moves:
    Flail, Absorb, Bubble
    Astonish, Growl

    Inventory:
    Spoiler:

Sunlight shone through the open window and bathed the lily pad on Lotad's head. He woke up, his bill slightly opening with a yawn. He slept inside a wooden tub filled with water. It seems that the Kricketot Inn was ready for any guests. Lotad climbed out of the tub and stretched his six legs. He waddled towards the window and onto the chair below it. Outside, the sun was rising lazily into the air as its light made the crystal in the center of the square glitter. The scene made Lotad smile. It reminded him of the way their pond would glisten under the morning light. Despite the folks who shunned him from the group, he still missed home. The Lily Pad Pokemon went down and waddled to the door. He passed by the mirror and saw himself. Now away from the other Lotads, he didn't seem very big, but his autumn yellow lily pad still stood out. It made him...different. He was reminded of the reason why he went to Haven in the first place. He took a deep breath and turned away from the mirror. Things will change, he thought to himself as he walked through the small door that was installed for smaller Pokemon without arms like him. Things will change and everyone will love me.

Lotad's room was only a few seconds away from the stairs. He stood atop it, staring down at the flight of stairs below him. He still wasn't used to stairs. He had only stayed in the inn for two days. Walking down facefirst still bothered him. He was afraid he'd fall down and hurt himself. Just then, Kricketune went past the stairs, sweeping the floor hurriedly."Oh, hello, Lotad," he said without looking at the Lily Pad Pokemon. "Why don't you come on down? Order some breakfast?"

Lotad laughed awkwardly and went down the stairs one foot at a time. It took a long time but he finally reached the bottom. "Lotad! Good morning," Kricketune's older brother, Kricketot, yelled from behind the bar as he polished dishes to be used for the day. "Breakfast? I have Berry Souflé on the menu today!"

"Uh, no thank you, Mr. Kricketot, sir," Lotad said apologetically and he continued walking to the inn doors. The inn owner shrugged. "Just don't forget the rent." That stopped Lotad. He slowly turned around with a shaky smile. "U-um, rent?" he asked with a voice just as shaky."Why, yes. Rent," Kricketot replied as a matter-of-fact. "You didn't think I'd let you stay for free, did you? I'm running a business, after all," he continued. Kricketot clicked his antennae together a few times, pondering numbers for a while before saying, "200 Poké. For a two-night stay."

All the Lotad could do was gulp and swallow his anxiety. "Y-yes. Yes, rent," he repeated like a chant, slowly backing up. Once outside, he turned around and was greeted by the enormous crystal in the center of the the Town Square. It looked magnificent, immediately taking away Lotad's worries. "It's all going to be all right," it seems to say. Just behind the crystal, Lotad could see the back of the biggest, most noticeable building in town. The Lily Pad Pokemon nodded and walked on. You can worry about rent later, he told himself.

To his right, a green Pokemon with a yellow leaf on his head was setting up shop. He didn't look very cheery. He seemed to grumbling about something but Lotad was too far to hear. The Lily Pad Pokemon ignored him. He's already met the shopowner, Gulpin. He's not really that bad. He's actually sort of funny and friendly. It just feels like there's a motive behind all the friendliness. Just a few meters away from Gulpin's shop was the Miltank Farm. Lotad hasn't spent an awful lot of time there. He sees Pokemon inside, some working, some stopping by to purchase something, but he hasn't gone inside himself. There's no special reason for it, really. He just has little interest in the farm. He waddled along. The town was still waking up, but from up ahead, he could see activity. Pokemon coming in and out of the biggest building in town. Finally, there he was, in front of the Guildhouse.

Unlike the rest of the town, the Guildhouse was already active. Different Pokemon seem to be walking around, going about their daily routine. Some came in groups, talking to each other. Lotad took in the sight as he walked inside. It was bustling with Pokemon. Everyone looked strong and capable. Different shapes and types. Lotad has never seen so many different kinds of Pokemon in one place. He kept walking, carefully dodging the Pokemon that went past him. Across the room, there was a large board with tons of papers attached to it and beside it was a desk manned by a busy-looking pink dog. Lotad remembered him from the posters. He walked faster. However, he misjudged his distance from the desk and bumped into it. Hard.

"What the-?" the pink Pokemon said as he looked behind the desk and saw Lotad, "What did you do that for, kid?"

"Oww. Ow, that hurts," Lotad replied, still hurt from the collision. He slowly got up and shook his head. "I'm -oww- here to apply for the guild," he managed to say. The pink Pokemon looked at him up and down. "I'm Snubbull, the guild secretary," he said, hints of skepticism in his voice. "To be honest, you don't look like you're fit to join the guild."

There was no denying that. But Lotad couldn't just walk out. He regained his composure and stood proud. "I-I am!" he announced. "I am fit for the guild!" Snubbull looked him over again, then he walked around the desk and resumed what he was doing. There was a moment of silence between the two. "Uhh, sir?" Lotad asked, and he was met with a deadly gaze from the pink dog. "That would be 'ma'am'" Snubbull said, looking ticked off. If Lotad wasn't scared before, he sure was scared now. Another moment of silence, this time it was broken by Snubbull, as he, no, she, pulled out a pen and said, "Name." It took Lotad by surprise. "Umm, excuse me?" he asked. Snubbull looked at him again, wearing the same deadly look. "Do you want to join the guild or not?"

Lotad jumped, more because he got startled than for joy. "Um, uhh, Lotad," he replied. "Don't be silly," Snubbull started saying, "I know you're a Lotad, even with that weird lily pad you have on your head. I need your name."

Lotad blushed. He always gets embarassed when someone mentions his lily pad. "I-I don't have a name. It's just Lotad," he stuttered. Another death stare from the secretary. "I swear!" Lotad exclaimed. "Well we can't have that. You'll need to think of a name now or I'll put you down as..." Snubbull tapped the pen on her head, "Lily. Yeah, if you don't think of a name now, I'll put you down as Lily."

"B-but that's my sister's name," Lotad protested, to which Snubbull only replied with "You have three minutes."

Quickly, Lotad scoured his head for a name, but he couldn't think of any. He hadn't thought for a name for him. Back in the pond, it was the others who would give you a name, not yourself. He looked around for inspiration. There must be something around here. The board full of papers, the multitude of Pokemon roaming around, desk right in front of him. "Two minutes," the secretary reminded him. I can't be called Lily. The world started spinning around him. Who knew such a simple question could cause so much distress. "One minute," Snubbull said again, tapping her pen on the wooden desk. Tap. Tap. Tap. Lotad's eyes focused on Snubbull's paw as it moved up and down, tapping the pen. Tap, tap tap. The pen. Pen.

"Pen!" Lotad blurted out, then he realized how stupid the name was and added, "With two n's"

"Alright then. P-E-N-N. Penn the Lotad," she said as she wrote his name down. "And where do you live?"

Another tough question. "A pond..somewhere...in the forest," he replied. He didn't really know where the pond was or what it was called. It was just "the" pond. A place where he knew how to go but doesn't know where it was. It was weird when he thought about it, but he shrugged it off as instinct. After all, he's lived his whole life there. He's bound to be connected to it some way.

The Snubbull wasn't too sure what to write down, but she decided to just write "Pond" on the form. "Okay," she said then she started walking away. "Follow me."

Lotad was lead upstairs. He stopped when they reached the bottom of the staircase. Climbing up stairs was just as hard as walking down from them for Lotad. Snubbull was already halfway up when she turned back noticed that the newbie was stuck at the bottom. "Well? I have other stuff to do, you know," she said, getting annoyed. "S-sorry, ma'am." The Lily Pad Pokemon carefully waddled up the stairs. When they reached the second floor, the secretary patted Lotad on the back. "You'd better get used to stairs. You'll be living here from now on," she said before she continued walking down the hall. They stopped in front of a room that looked like it was filled with items. "Wait here," Snubbull instructed then she headed inside. It was only a few minutes later when she stepped out with a satchel, a crystal and a badge in her arms. She handed the items to Lotad...or at least tried. The Lotad had no arms to retrieve them with. The guild secretary sighed. "Here is your complementary guild kit. First, of course, your badge," she said as she fastened the winged patch on Lotad's lily pad. "Wear it proud for it shows that you are an official member of the guild." Then she showed Lotad a small piece of crystal in her paw. "This is your Warp Crystal. Whenever you get in trouble, just use it and you get teleported back into town." Snubbull put the crystal in the satched she was holding. "Finally, your Treasure Bag. To hold your items in." She pulled out the sling and fit it over the Lotad.

The Lily Pad Pokemon couldn't help but smile. He looked at Snubbull with eyes sparkling in joy. "Th-thank you!" The guild secretary just nodded at him. She seemed pleased, like all the annoyance she felt a while ago was gone. "Right," she said again, "you're all set." Snubbull started making her way back to the front desk. "You can start accepting missions right away at the Bulletin Board. If you need any help with that, just ask," she shouted before she was down and out of view. Lotad gazed at the satchel that hung beside him. An Explorer. I'm finally an Explorer. He walked back down the hall feeling pleased with himself, until he reached the stairs. He stared down it. He could see most of the ground floor from up there. So many Pokemon. He just couldn't get used to it. And then there's the stairs. Snubbull's words echoed in his head. "You'd better get used to stairs," she had said. Lotad gulped. I better do. He took one step down and instantly fell, rolling. He found himself on his back, feet waddling in the air. Lotad flushed red in embarrassment. I better do.

  • Able the Nincada

With the rising sun, Able would end up traveling mostly underground along the way to Haven. Nincada never did favor the sun but that was just another challenge for the Nincada to overcome. She had never actually been inside Haven. The most she had heard of was from Pokemon passing by or details from her brother. She never would of expected a town of this scale though. Especially the guild building! The sight was almost intimidating to the small Nincada. She didn't pay much mind to the other buildings and would just simply scurry toward the Guild Office.

As she entered inside, Able popped out of the ground and crawled on in. She noticed a few other Pokemon either getting their badges or just hanging around. Able figured that becoming an explorer wouldn't be difficult at all. The Nincada was already getting a couple of stares though... especially from the Snubbul by the desk. Once she got up closer, she was given a cautious look.

"A Nincada? Like... on of those bandits outside of town?" She'd ask. Able gave off a sigh.

"No a Nincada like the ones that like to sing songs to the children alround town. Yeah I was with em. What's the deal?" Able replied.

"Well I could easily just turn you in to Officer Watchog. That little group has been causing trouble for alot of newbies within the guild, even causing a few of them to start off completely broke. Sooner or later we may have to send in our higher ranked members..."

"Cute. Look why would I just walk in here if I intended to stick around with those guys? I can't possibly improve if I'm stuck as a petty criminal. Infact I want to help the guild stop those Nincada in their tracks. I know their traps, tactics, and all of that. If I'm screwing with you then you can just as easily turn me in on the spot. I mean comon, you think I can run with these stubby little legs?" Able said, picking up one of her front legs and wiggling it a bit.

"I still se no reason to let an obvious criminal in the guild. But if you're serious about helping out then I can at least grant you a chance I suppose. Besides if this is a trick, wearing this badge will make it all the easier to turn you in." The Snubbul replied. "Now what's your name?"

    "Able."

"Right... the leader of those bandits. Not suspicious at all." The Snubbul muttered.

"Look la- miss, just give me a chance. I really do want to become an explorer and have a place of my own. Anything is better then living out in the wild." Able replied back. The Snubbul pulled out all of the esentials. A Badge, Treasure Bag, and a warp crystal that could conveniently fit right in the center of the badge via a small socket.

"Officer Watchhog will have his eyes on you the whole way through. Don't try anything dumb." Snubbul said.

"I'm just walking around! Get of my case would ya dude?" She replied before going on her way. Able had some time to herself... the least she could do was walk around the place and get used to Haven. More importantly she wanted to figure out who was being sent after her fellow Nincada. As she scurried down the stairs the Nincada quickly noticed a Lotad stuck on its back and waddling its feet. Well this was a heck of a way to start her career as an explorer. The Nincada crept up closer and just stared.

"Fine mess you got yourself into." She stated bluntly while teasingly poking the Lotad.

Evelynn The Buneary - Her First Steps

Evelynn's eyes were bright with excitement as the sun filtered through the window of her room in the Kricketot Inn. She had arrived late the previous night, much too late to actually go and register with the guild. So, she had been forced to rent a room inside the inn until the morning so she could do so properly. Of course, sleep did not come easy for Evelynn. All throughout the night, images and thoughts of the great adventures that waited before her danced through her mind. In fact, she ended up spending most of the night tossing and turning because of it. However even with minimal sleep at best, Evelynn was still bouncing and raring to go!

The Buneary wasted no time in dashing out of her room, practically jumping down the stairs with a broad smile on her face. Her action caused the Kricketot working the counter to jump in surprise, quickly glancing over in her direction to make sure that she had not somehow managed to fall down the stairs.

"Thanks again for the room, Mr. Kricketot! I'd love to stay and chat, but I gotta go register with the guild! I'll tell you all about another time!" Evelynn shouted, making a beeline for the door.

"W-Wait, Evelynn! Don't you at least want some breakfast?" Kricketot questoned, flailing his tiny arms in an attempt to get the Buneary's attention.

Evelynn smiled, but shook her head as she opened the inn door. "I couldn't eat right now if I wanted to! I'm way to excited! Thanks anyway!"

Before he could get a word in edgewise, Evelynn was already out the door and shutting it behind her. The Buneary turned and looked at the humble little hamlet stretched out before her, taking a quick breath of the fresh morning air in the process. Most of the town was still quiet, a majority of the residents most likely still preparing themselves for the day ahead. The only exception to this seemed to be in the form of the Guildhouse. Said building was already generating so much activity, it was starting to look like it held an small village of its own inside. Not wanting to suddenly miss out on registration because they filled up or something of the sort, Evelynn quickly dashed off towards the building in question. She pushed her way past several leaving Pokémon, smiling brightly as a female Snubbull looked up from the counter at her.

"Um... Can I help you?" she questioned, raising a curious eyebrow at the hasty Buneary.

Evelynn smiled proudly, puffing out her chest a bit as she spoke. "Of course! I'm here to apply for the guild! Evelynn, at your service! Soon-to-be Adventurer Extraordinaire!"

  • Amp, Beginner Explorer

The sound of waves crashing against the bluff slowly began filling Amp's ears as he approached Haven. The glow of the orange sun flooding in from beyond the sea hit Amp hard in the eyes, forcing him to turn his eyes away. When he brought his gaze back, the quaint village that was home to Bronzong's Exploration Guild came into view. Amp's eyes widened. There wasn't much excitement in Haven on the surface, but Amp has a habit of finding excitement almost anywhere. Although he was tired and hungry from the long journey, Amp began running straight ahead, across the bridge leading into Haven and made a straight line for the Guildhouse. Amp only saw at the last second that he was about to collide head-on with Snubbull, who had just opened the door carrying a bunch of supplies. Amp smacked straight into Snubbull, sending supplies flying everywhere.

"Ohhhh!!! This is a disaster!! I have to get all these supplies to Gulpin as soon as possible! You! Why can't you watch where you're going?!"

"I-I'm sorry! I didn't notice you coming out until the last second, and I couldn't stop by then." If Amp felt any embarrassment for that moment, it was quickly replaced by a sense of urgency. "I'll help you pick up your stuff, but I really need to hurry up and register as an Explorer! I'm joining Bronzong's guild!"

Snubbull sighed. She became silent for a moment. Amp cocked his head curiously, and just as he was about to say something, Snubbull's expression of pondering turned into one of frustration. "You'll get no registration until you help me pick up all of these things and deliver them to Gulpin.

"Okay, okay!" Amp anxiously replied. Amp ran as quickly as he could in a circle around Snubbull, gathering all of the supplies into one pile and carrying as much as he could in his mouth. Snubbull picked up the rest and they set off for Gulpin's General Goods.

    - - - - - - - - - - - - -

"Okay, Gulpin, thank you!" Snubbull called out to Gulpin. "Hohoho, anytime, Snubbull! Hohoho..."

Amp shuddered a little at Gulpin's off-putting laugh. Still, he seems nice.... Amp's thoughts quickly broke off when he remembered he had to go register as an Explorer. "Oh! Snubbull, I'm sorry, but I have to go register! I've already lost enough time as it is!" Just as Amp was about to run off, Snubbull grabbed him by the scruff of his neck. "Calm down, you little furball, you didn't lose any time. I'm Bronzong's secretary. You're going to register through me."

Amp instantly calmed down and just as quickly got riled up. "Then let's go! Hurry, hurry! I've been waiting for this forever!!" Amp ran off as fast as he could to the guildhouse, leaving Snubbull in a cloud of dust.

"Oh, boy..." she remarked to herself. "We're gonna have our hands full with this bunch."

Amp had been waiting for two minutes before Snubbull arrived. To him, it felt like half an hour. "Where were you?! That took forever!"

"Calm down!" Snubbull snapped. "I've been dealing with a whole bunch of you new recruits all day." Snubbull walked over to a chest and pulled out three things: a Warp Crystal, a Treasure Bag, and, most excitingly, an Explorer Badge. "Now, then, Amp. Here are your things. You are now officially a fully-fledged Explorer in Bronzong's guild." At this point, Amp was bouncing up and down with excitement. He grabbed his new things from his bag, organized everything, and threw on his Treasure Bag. "Awesome! I'm a real Explorer now! I'm gonna see about some missions now!" Amp ran out of the doorway and half-slammed the door after himself.

Snubbull rolled her eyes and sighed. "Kids these days... Always so eager... never more careful...."

    Nick- The Dedenne
    Numero Uno

Nick felt excitement boil up inside his stomach when sunlight began to shine through the blinds of room in the Kriketot Inn. Nick and his brother, Aaron, had arrived at the end only a few hours ago. Both of them had no energy when they arrived and just booked a room in the Kriketot Inn before completely collapsing on the beds.

The Dedenne grabbed a notepad from the bedside table that separated the brothers' two beds and began writing little reminders of what to and what not to do while he was out registering to be an explorer. (Such as, looking through the peephole if someone knocked, if it was a stranger don't ever open the door, not leaving the inn, ect.)

Nick yearned for this day to come. He remembered hearing stories his parents told him. He remembered the explorers and their heroic deeds, and the many locations the characters explored, the treasure they found, ect. He was enraptured by the stories that flew out of his parents' mouths and it was one of the few good memories he had left of them.

He ripped the paper out his note and put it on the bedside table. Nick hopped off the bed and tiptoed out of the room. He made sure to check if the room was locked before scurrying down the wooden stairs.

"Oh another excited one today," Mr. Kriketot, the worker behind the counter chuckeled.

"Morning Mr. Kriketot!" Nick smiled, "Thank you for letting my brother and I stay here."

"It was no problem," the bug pokemon said, "customers are customers, no matter what hour of the morning they decide to show up."

Nick smiled cheekily as he scratched the back of his head.

"So where are you off to today?"

The Dedenne smiled, "The guild house! I'm going to be an explore!."

"Oh another one I see," the Kriketot mused, "a lot of young apprentice hopefuls have been showing up lately."

"Really?" Nick raised his eyebrow in curiosity.

"Yes, yes they have," the worker replied, "It's still pretty early, why don't you have breakfast? You can't be an explorer on an empty stomach."

"Sure," The Dedenne agreed, "But um…."

    "Hmm?"

"When my brother wakes up, can you make sure he gets breakfast too?" Nick asked.

    "Yes, I certainly can."

    --
Activity barely seemed to start once Nick left the inn. Some blinds were being opened, and he saw faces of other Pokemon peak out of the windows. Wingulls sang as they flew above the coast-side village. Nick could hear the waves crash against the rocks and from a distance the guildhouse was hard to miss.

He could see the many Pokemon hanging around the village like building. Nick's jaw dropped as he took in the sight. He had never seen a building so tall before. It's shadow engulfed the fairy type Pokemon. The windows flashed down on him and he could already see some Pokemon inside through the windows.

Nick gulped. His heart hammered against his chest, he started shaking, and he felt like he was thrown into the mouth of a volcano. He heaved and then breathed out, trying to calm his nerves. Once the shaking stopped, he deemed himself ready to step inside.

A Snubull sat behind a counter that towered over him. The fairy dog had a pen in hand while scanning through the stack of papers that sat on top of the counter that towered over him.

    "Excuse me?"

The Snubull looked up from her paperwork and turned her head from side to side. She raised her eyebrow from behind her pair of bifocals before looking down at Nick.

"Don't see many Dedenne around here," she began, "is there something you need?"

"I want to be an explorer!" Nick smiled.

She raised her eyebrow at him, "You, an explorer?"

Nick bit his lip, already knowing that tone. Dedennes weren't known to be very strong species of Pokemon. Many opted to stay where they were most familiar, often discouraged by their lack of strength as a battler.

"Just wanting to be an explorer is enough right?" Nick asked, standing on his tippy-toes.

She hummed, "Yes I suppose so." The Snubull began to shuffle through her papers before bringing a sheet up to the top of the pile, "Name?"

    "Sorry, what?"

"Your name," the fairy dog repeated, "I need your name."

    "Nick."

Snubull nodded before scribbling on her paper, "I am assuming you're from up north."

    "Yes. I'm from Evergreen Village."

"Predictable," Snubull commented. The fairy dog continued to scribble information on the paper, not bothering to ask him anymore questions. It took her a few minutes, but she put her pen down and hopped off her chair.

"Follow me," she said. Nick scurried off after her as she walked up the stairs. On the second floor she stopped at a room and stopped.

"Stay here," Snubull ordered. Nick nodded and the fairy dog slipped inside the room. She then came back out carrying an assortment of items with her. "Your explorer badge. Don't lose this. Replacements cost a lot." She handed egg shaped badge over to Nick who fastened it on his chest. She pulled out a blue crystal and placed it in his hands, "Warp Crystal. Don't lose this either if you don't want to walk all the way back from a mystery dungeon." She looked at the messenger bag and sighed, "Sorry wrong size." She went back into the room before bringing out a smaller bag, "Treasure bag." She handed the bag to him. Nick placed the warp crystal inside and then slung the messenger bag across his right side.

Snubull began walking again, this time down the hall of the second floor. The bag slapped against his left side as he scurried off after her. She stopped at the end of the floor and opened the door. Nick saw many other pokemon with messenger bags and badges attached to their bodies.

The fairy dog pointed at the large board at the end of the room, "Bulletin board. You accept missions there. You can either go alone or with other Pokemon and with all these other apprentices here, seems like you can make some friends."

"Oh, I, yeah," Nick stuttered, "Thank you!"

"I expect you to do well as a fellow Fairy Type Pokemon," she told him. Snubull turned around and began to walk back to her post.

Nick looked at all the Pokemon inside the room where the bulletin board was and smiled, "Hey everyone. I'm Nick!"

  • Able the Ninjask
    Social activity

Able looked over to the Pokemon who raised its voice. She herself was checking out the bullitains for a very specific request but at the same time she wanted to know about the mon here. Alot of newcomers were arriving on the scene and no doubt one of these newcomers would be taking on Able's brigands, Still, Able could take her time. She was an explorer after all! The Nincada crawled over to the Dedenne curiously. She was silent at first, simply observing him top and down and trying to make something out of him.

Able wasn't exactly a social Pokemon by any means. She was a bit shelled in. But she was mustering whatever she could to form a few connections. Gotta look like a convincing explorer after all!

"Um... Hello there. Are you new as well?" The Nincada spoke. "...Just a guess anyways, I shouldn't be one to judge on appearance." She added. Weither or not he'd take that as a rude comment was up to Nick. Her social skills were clearly top notch.

  • Niishi the unsocial Nidoran(F)

While conversastions had been somewhat quiet, Niishi heard a louder voice saying something she just couldn't make out. You'd think her big ears would catch stuff more often, but she had pretty poor hearing. At least she had good eyesight?

She turned to find out who said whatever it was, and saw a Dedenne looking around. He held a Treasure Bag, and from the newness of it she deducted he must be new, too. Perhaps she could make some friends, get out of her shell? Another Pokemon had clearly heard and turned to the Dedenne, Niishi believed it was a Shedinja, but none of those had passed her homevillage, so she only knew from stories, and this Pokemon seemed to fit most if not all of the critieria.... The Pokemon that may be a Shedinja asked something else, but seemed a bit awkward.

Niishi gathered her courage and puffed up once more, trying to impress the others. She walked slowly over to the two and said, without letting her breath out too much, "Are you new here? There seems to be a lot of Pokemon who joined recently, me included. It's be nice to have some companions though. What's up?"

Hey, she's getting better at this.

  • Poob
    Recruiting Followers

First things first: Poob needed followers. If he was going to become an ruler of anything, he'd need somebody to rule. The Poochyena narrowed his eyes as he scanned the guild; explorers-in-training were clustered together in several areas, whether examining the bulletin board or simply talking. The room was quite crowded overall, with explorers and visitors alike bustling about to take on the morning with renewed vigor.

It was difficult for Poob to pick out any one particular Pokemon to be his first follower; he'd need someone who seemed easy to control, and serious enough to work properly. Once he'd won that Pokemon over, it would be even easier to gain support!

That's when his eyes landed upon a ball of crimson. Poob stopped and stared across the room at a Gastly, an explorer's bag right beneath him, who floated absentmindedly in one spot. Gastly would not have been Poob's first choice for a follower; in fact, it probably would have been near the bottom of the list of possible candidates. However, this particular Gastly struck him as different; although at first glance it didn't appear so, Poob was quick to notice the more serious expression on his face.

Of course, it was perfectly possible that the Gastly was just tired of making mischief for the day, but Poob decided he had nothing to lose by trying. He trudged over to the floating 'mon, his head held high, and as he approached him he cleared his throat to signal his arrival.

"Excuse me," Poob spoke out. "You there, the Gastly. Yes, you. I have a deal to offer you."

Poob smiled proudly and looked up at the Gastly. "Become my servant. We may both be explorers, but evidently you are of a far lower caliber than I. That said, if you work for me, your power will quickly rise and reach levels which are worthy of being in my presence." He nodded, as if agreeing with himself. "So what say you, Gastly? Join me, and together you will aid me in becoming supreme!"

  • Able the Nincada

Able looked over to the Nidoran that approached the two just as she was introducing herself. She stepped forward to her and observed her, quickly crawling around her. It'd likely be a tad uncomfortable for Niishi. It was just how Able tensed up to the situation. She couldn't really see too well as a Nincada but her senses were so high that eyesight wasn't necessary. "...indeed. I didn't expect so many newcomers in the same day myself. Are you a capable fighter by chance? Its very rough out in the wild if unprepared. I have some previous experience so I don't think it'll be too much trouble." Able explained with a nod of her head.

The Nincada held up one of her claws. "I'm Able by the way. Who are you?" Able asked. Course she still had her focus on Nick. The Nidoran just distracted her a bit. At least she seemed to be nice enough. Able thought that being part of those Nincada brigans would get everyone aggressive toward her. Maybe most Pokemon just weren't aware? The Nincada usually hung outside of town anyways.

  • Fogg
    Explorer's Guild - Lobby
    Making Friends?

After signing up, Fogg had completely disconnected from the outside world. His tired mind wandered off on its own, and from the outside the crimson ball of gas looked as vacant as a Slowpoke. It was like seeing somebody sleep with their eyes open. Weird. Anyway, something suddenly interrupted his trance and brought him back to the Pokémon world. It was a Poochyena, with a bit of an emperor complex or something. Fogg was immediately put off.

First of all, how dared this fellow come barking at him like that, referring to him as a 'normie', and snap him out of his trance? Well, the little guy wasn't to blame on that one. He did look like a Gastly, and, no matter what he did, unless he evolved, he would always look like a Gastly. That is, unless he decides to possess a Pokémon there, but that's just stuff common Gastly do. Anyway, what irritated him the most was the fact that he offered him the part of servant. And even referred himself as if he was part of some royal family or something! He sighed and rolled his eyes in annoyance. He wanted to ignore the Pokémon and let it go, but his tired, sleepy mind was already taking a toll on his way of thinking.

"Hey! What do you think I am?" Fogg barked back, "I'm an explorer here, not a thug-for-hire! Show some respect!"

Officer Watchog, who was hanging around the area after having posted a notice on the guild, suddenly turned his intense attention on that. Many other Pokémon turned their eyes as well. It wasn't every day that you saw a Gastly snap at someone. In fact, it was very rare to see a Gastly upset. Fogg sighed again, and seemed to calm fown from his outburst.

"If you want to become supreme, I suggest you drop the attitude." Fogg said, now in a more polite, yet slightly sarcastic tone. Many of the Pokémon diverted their attention from them, seeing there was nothing else to see there. "As for me, I do not work for anyone. Etiher I work with other Pokémon or I fly solo." he added, "Now, I have missions to look for."

He resisted the Gastly-ish impulse to use sarcasm and mock the Poochyena and moved over to the bulletin board. Before that, he managed to get the bag on his body and carry it along. I don't know if it was the concentrated gas or if it was a strange, supernatural power of the Ghost-typed, point is, he was glad he didn't have to carry stuff on his tongue all the time.

Ugh... If I knew I had to deal with these kinds of Pokémon, I'd have looked for a different career! Jeez... Well, time to look for missions... Let's see...

    for him.

    I'm trash.

    Nick - The Dedenne
    Due

Nick felt a bit weird as a Nincada began to study him. The bug pokemon had immediately turned around when he greeted all the pokemon in the room. It said completely nothing while it circled around him and moving its eyes all across his body.

    It was a bit uncomfortable.

The study seemed to be over when the bug pokemon stopped. It offered one of its claws and gave Nick a small smile. "Um… Hello there, are you new as well? ...Just a guess anyways, I shouldn't be one to judge on appearance."

"Oh, no. You made the right assumption," Nick smiled back. He took bug pokemon's tan claw and shook it.

"Are you new here? There seems to be a lot of Pokemon who joined recently, me included. It's be nice to have some companions though. What's up?" A new voice greeted.

Nick turned his attention to the newcomer to the conversation and successfully didn't flinch. It was a Nidoran. The last time Nick encountered one, he ended up in jail after trying to steal from a pack of them who were passing through his village. Who knew they were poison type? He sure didn't.

The bug pokemon let her claw drop off from their handshake and turned towards the blue rodent, "...Indeed. I didn't expect so many newcomers in the same day myself. Are you a capable fighter by chance? Its very rough out in the wild if unprepared. I have some previous experience so I don't think it'll be too much trouble." It held up its claw, "I'm Able, by the way. Who are you?"

"Oh hi, I'm Nick," The Dedenne smiled towards the Nidoran, "Yeah I recently joined, if you didn't hear before. Nice to meet you; I hope we'll be great friends."

  • Niishi the confused Nidoran(F)

Niishi smiled nervously at the Pokemon crawling down her back, introducing herself as Able. The smile came out on her face like a 'trying way too hard to like you' sort of smile, not that she had meant to do that though. She shivered.

"Well, my name is Niishi," she said, trying not to studder. Rambling on, "I'm here to become a famous explorer. Well, not to be famous, but at least help out when Pokemon need help. The more who know your name then the more who would call for your help right?"

She looked back at the Dedenne. She thought there was a note of...fear?... in his eyes, but it vanished quickly. Umm.... What was that?.... "S-So you're Nick?" she asked, trying to be polite. "Maybe we could join a mission sometime."

Before he responded, someone shouted angirly across the room. Shocked by the sudden outburst, Niishi jumped, and tripped over her bag. She turned to look and saw a red Gastly suddenly look self-conscious, as it muttered something else to a Poochyena. She couldn't see the Poochyena's reaction beyond the others around her, but the Gastly floated away.

"Weird...." she sighed when the noise of conversation started back up. "Hey Able, Nick, do Gastly normally shout like that?.... I've only met a couple before, and they just liked pulling pranks...."
