5th Gen Black and White: Best selling game 2011?

    I read at VGChartz a list of the best selling video games of 2010.
    This is a list of the 10 best selling games of Nintendo-systems:

    1. Wii Sports Resort - 10 million
    2. New Super Mario Bros. Wii - 10 million
    3. Wii Fit Plus - 7,9 million
    4. Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver - 6,2 million
    5. Super Mario Galaxy 2 - 5,5 million
    6. Pokémon Black & White - 4,8 million
    7. Mario Kart Wii - 4,3 million
    8. Wii Party - 3,8 million
    9. Just Dance 2 - 3,4 million
    10. Mario Kart DS - 3,3 million

    Look at number 5 and 6.
    Pokémon Black and White is only available in Japan and has sold just 0,7 million copies less than Super Mario Galaxy 2, which is available worldwide.
    Does this mean Black and White are going to be the best selling games of 2011?

    I highly doubt it, considering that almost everyone is obssessed with the PS3 and XBox.
    The game that'll be on their minds would be CoD and Modern Warfare.
     
    Among the entire market, probably not, but in the Nintendo market, quite possibly. Hard to say, though. I mean, Skyward Sword is going to be coming out next year, too. We'll see.
     
    I think it could, but only in the Nintendo market, as PS3 and Xbox easily beat out nintendo in terms of popularity and sales. I would like it if Black and White were to be one of the top selling games, but I just don't see it happening with rivals like Sony and Microsoft. I'm sure that a PS3/Xbox game will get released next year, and everyone will buy it, once again beating Nintendo. </3
     
    If it's already sold 4.8M copies in Japan and has only been out for a couple of months and is coming to US & UK in March then it's possible, it may surprise you.
     
    I think it will be seeing as we get more fans for every generation.
     
    Maybe. Keep in mind that HGSS were about to be best-selling games in March (damn Kratos got 'em !), but not of the year. However, as I see that only in Japan they sold only with 2 million less than HGSS, I think they will rank pretty high...

    9 million copies (which is a lot), anyone ? 5 millions (almost) are already in Japan, so I suppose about 4 million copies in the rest of the world...
     
    Plus, there's always Arkham City, KH: Re:Coded and, of course, Elder Scrolls 5 ... I'm not expecting B/W to become the top seller
     
    I see black and white being the top sellers on the nitendo market but not the top seller of 2011.We don't even know they might be planning another pokemon game to come out in 2011 which would top black and white most likely.

    I could see it being top selling DS games. I thinking Paper Mario 3DS may get more sales, since it is one of the most popular if not the most popular Nintendo series of all time.

    Seeing the list, pokemon rises one spot or stays the same, but since the diamond and pearl wasn't that popular, and HeartGold and SoulSilver came in fourth place, maybe B/W will be third at most...but with Paper Mario and other game consoles to compete with, no luck and I doubt it. May be for a month, but for the year? Maybe on the 10's list.
     
    I'm not expecting B/W to make it to the number one spot, but I'm hoping that it would at least make it to the top 5.

    I want B/W to take the number one spot, but unfortunately that majority of gamers don't have very good taste. You can expect Modern Crapfest 3 to outsell Pokemon. :'(
     
    pokemon not as big in america as it is in japan. I dont predict it to hit #1
     
    If your comparing it to with XBox 360 and PS3 games, it might be up there in the Top 10 (in fact I think it will). As far as I think, Black and White will reach #1 or #2 on a Nintendo basis, but because of so many haters within the Generation shift they've lost many fans. But still, I expect it to be ranked up there.
     
    I have no doubt that Pokemon will be the best selling game of the year! <333
    And if not, it WILL be up there! ;D
