Most Underrated Forum?

I made a blog recently talking about how I wanted the Culture & Media forum on the site. To me Culture and Media is one of the most underrated forums on PC. Threads get made with little to no posts or comments.

Anyway, my question to you: What do you think that most underrated forum on PC?

Challenges is underrated I think. I'm not just saying that because I mod it, but because it's just little known. It's the newest forum, aside from Black/White and excluding subforums, and it's done good for nearly a year. I'm working on making it more known, but yeah. I like to plan events for the section, but I like them to be more of surprises for the members. So I'm basically alone in planning these things, because no other staffer seems to really understand. It's like I'm literally the only staff member that knows what's going on there. They'll slap me for that.

C&M is underrated as well. I know I've made a thread there once and had absolutely no responses. And I know some good threads die quickly in there because it's just not active. I think Mr Cat Dog will have good things in store for it though.

Pixel Art. I've seen it go for days with no posts, and even then many threads are still left to fall back on the second page.

Well, as much as I agree that it's sad that Challenges and C&M are dead typically...I feel like OVP is actually underrated! Seriously!

People post in threads and go! I miss the old days where you could come back to a poll and be responded to! Previous OVP mods after Sammi's first stint, before her current one as mod here discouraged that...and I feel like the section took a hit.

But yeah. OVP is totally underrated. C&M/Challenges is a little bit underrated too. XD

The art and writing sections, probably.

People post in threads and go! I miss the old days where you could come back to a poll and be responded to!
I know what you mean... =/

What's the point in posting here if you don't even know if people are reading your posts. (That said, this is probably my most visited/posted in section. lol) If people actually responded to each other, I'd enjoy the section quite a bit more.

Pokemon Trivia. I honestly don't see why more veteran members post there. I mean, a lot of them post in OT, and while that does have more room for a variety of games, PT can be something too if they would post there as well. I say lock all the threads in OT for a week and force them to go to PT. /brick'd

Btw, if you actually look at the post counts for each forum, tabletop games has the least at 16k, and pokemon strategies has the 2nd least at 18k... so I guess those two win. lol

Urgh! I know what you mean. I was originally the one to post threads like that; you know those threads that list a few questions and people reply to those? Yeah, I brought that on when I became a mod for this forum, and then it just went out - well, I think you know how I feel about people who always respond to threads like that even after some people ask them not to. But I primarily intended it to be sort of a pushing thing to toss ideas on how people could reply, and yet people thought each question was an individual question and replied to it as such. Drives me insane... :/

But the forum description promotes very little discussion to be given, and I think people take that way too literally. You're allowed to reply more than once, you're allowed to reply to other people, you're allowed to have some sort of conversation here. It's just not meant to be the type of discussions that are placed in OC. There are so many types of threads that can be put in this forum, and most people fail to really realize that. I suggest people read this.

Ahem... but I do disagree that OVP is underrated. I feel that Culture & Media is the most underrated forum on PC, especially given the fact that we watch TV, listen to music, go to the movies, talk about celebrities, and indulge in popular and underground culture every single day and yet... people don't bother to discuss it here.

Hm, I've avoided replying back to people on OVP because I was afraid I'd stray off topic and get in trouble or something. Am I being too paranoid?

I think the poetry forum is underrated. It's so empty.. <_> lol

None of them. They all seem active and loved.
This is my sentiments about it. To me people will naturally gravitate to the sections they usually frequent. There is not underrated forum, every forum is essential to the site dead or not, like Advanced Generations it severed it's purpose back in the day it now rarely sees activity. That doesn't mean it's any lesser or greater then any active forum, for its time it was a hub of conversation and it severe a purpose providing info years after the games were popular.

I think Computers and Technology and Japanese Entertainment are fairly underrated. I don't see a lot of people post there.

C&M. No idea why there's so little activity there. I already frequent it often, so in my eyes it's fine and doesn't even need improving. Obviously for everybody else it's not so great; but nobody mentions what they'd like to see to make them post there, so it stays dead.

Culture & Media certainly has the most potential to be really active, and I'm not just saying this because of my allegiances to the forum. As Nick mentioned above, we all absorb culture in our daily lives, whether it be watching TV, listening to music, reading, watching sports or even involuntarily exposing ourselves to advertising and all that brings with it. It's a shame that it isn't as popular as it could be... but people are more than welcome to change that if they want! :D (HINT! HINT!)

However, I'll be honest (and this may be treason on my part): when I read the question, my mind instantly went to two Pokemon forums: Manga and TCG. Although I don't partake in these parts of the fandom myself, I find it surprising that on one of the largest Pokemon forums in the world, there isn't a bustling discussion of these elements. With C&M, as much as it has a wide scope, it's not really anything to do with Pokemon, so I don't expect as much activity as Pokemon General or Black and White, for example. But Manga/TCG... I guess I always imagined there to be more fans of them; or at least more active fans.

C&M. I think it suffers from being a little too broad. Some of what you could talk about there you could bring up in OC, OVP, the art forums, and others so people go to those places because they either frequent them more or they seem more like the right place to post.

My impression of the smaller forums and subforums is that they seem to have their own regulars who keep them alive even if they don't get posted in as much as B&W or one of the other big active forums.

TCG, I've never actually posted there, but it seems to be hardly ever active. And C&M seems pretty dead sometimes, altho I do post in there every now and then.

When I think underrated, I'm not only classifying it as a forum that receives little activity. There are some forums we have here that gain a decent amount of activity in the day, but it lacks in substance. For instance, like so many have already suggested, Culture and Media. It is a forum that should actually be a lot more popular than it is. It's also a forum with a lot of potential. However, people overlook it and just take it for the obvious entertainment discussions and no one really puts in the effort to take part in those discussions continuously. Which, for me, is a disappointment.

There are a few more underrated forums we have though. Pokémon Manga/Comics, Pokémon Anime, Pokémon Trivia, Pokémon TCG, the Art Gallery as a whole, Culture and Media as mentioned above, Table Top Games, and OVP. Each of these forums, while bringing in their own group of users, should and could have a lot more attention than they are given. They also come with a lot of potential, because while the area of discussion is more specific (and not all of them are), there's still a lot that can be discussed and brought out within each of them.
