Hi, all! I'm Kaze. I'm just a guy trying to reinvigorate my love for Pokemon by checking out what cool new content is coming from the community. May also try to make/commission a game or hack. Thinking of trying my hand at content creation as well. My current involvement in Pokemon is limited to playing on Showdown here and there since the series games are, understandably, very easy...so looking forward to more of a challenge thanks to the community and maybe making new friends along the way!

Welcome to the Pokecommunity Kaze! Glad you could join us.

We got cool content pretty much 24/7 (for me anyway) so you don't gotta worry bout one thing in that department. For sure that love for Pokemon won't take too long to be rejuvenated.

If you're into learning about making games, of course you'd benefit from checking out the Fan Games section! There's specific Recruitments going on there constantly so if you're looking for a team, that's the place to go. Content creation though, there's always the Travel Journals if you feel like documenting your game progresses and whatnot. You can post your videos there if that's the kind of stuff you like. I myself used to be an avid Pokemon Youtuber, but fell out of love with it when I realized I wasn't having much fun playing for an audience anymore. These days I just stick to playing myself and at my own pace. Less stressful that way lol.

I can also agree that the newer titles are just Spam A Simulators these days, and it's great that you found your competitive outlet through Showdown. I myself almost exclusively play rom hacks anymore, mostly because I want a challenge but not too hard like versus competent humans lmao.

Anyway, for sure if you stick around long enough and just post around, friends will come naturally. Hope to see you around! And have a great day!

Hey there welcome to the site, I've been playing the pokemon blaze black/volt white rom hack, and its been a whole new experience for me, playing roms instead of the system just allows you to engage with the game in a different and to me less limiting way.

The best experience for me has been using some basic action replay and the pokegen save editor. Just to add some necessary features and make small changes i feel should be there.

the action replay is to be able to see ivs & evs, and set the running shoes to a toggle. While I use pokegen to make minor edits to my pokemon, and to see their hidden power ability.

Like if i get the perfect pokemon but their ability is wrong, I can change that, or if i want to change my pokemon's gender, or to give my mon a move it should know/learn, but doesn't. Using these tools, with restraint can make the experience much better/ less frustrating, without making things easier.

Also this is kind of cheat and I feel a little bad but quick saving with an emulator can let you retry a capture as many times as you can stand, even with only 1 pokeball. lol yes thats almost a capture guarantee but i learned that hard way that doesn't save you from regret, when you spend your last pokeball (x4) to catch that tediursa only to find a rare encounter gabite 3 seconds later with zero pokeballs left. F

Anyway hope you have a great time here.

Hey Kaze, nice to meet you!~

I definitely think I've had a couple moments where I've fallen out of Pokemon a while, but I think new content is the biggest thing to help. Commissioning a game or hack seems really cool, there's a lot of that kind of thing here. What kind of content are you looking to create?

Honestly, I'd like to be a variety creator. I'm just scared that it's too risky to jump in without a following and without a gimmick haha

You might be right, but I think it really ends up being what you make of it. It's good to be honest about what you wanna go for, and maybe by being a variety creator you could find something you might feel more confident sticking with? It sounds like a great way to expand your options and cover all the bases if you need to. Best of luck!

Also, everyone starts without a following. Remember everyone's had to try to gain any following they've earned, and if they've done it, so can you!~

welcome to the community Kaze! i remember the days when i played competitive pokemon. gen 5 competitive was the best, i only really play vgc these days when i have the time. i'd have to agree that the main series games are a bit too easy for the older players since we know what to expect when playing. i love seeing what the creative users of this community come up with when it comes to rom hacks i try to play them as often as i can. i'm currently playing a rom hack of pokemon platinum which i'm keeping logs of over in the travel journals section. i hope you decide to stick around, enjoy your stay!

Thanks! Yeah, I stuck with it until gen 8. Z-moves were bad enough but I could deal with. Gigantamaxing just ruined it for me though haha. Yeah, I want to play a rom hack I just don't know which one to start with. I'll go check out your playthrough for sure though!
