Welcome to the Fire Red Extended project!

Introduction
First up: Fire Red Extended is a rework of Kanto with a wide variety of Pokémon (From Gen I to Gen VIII, including regional forms)!
This project is under construction, it's not a finished hack rom.

By the way, my project is recommended for people who have never played Pokémon,
since I tested it with several friends who didn't even know the games, only the anime,
and wanted to have an experience that could play a game with all the Pokémon inside.

Our journey will be only in Kanto, but we have many variables that make the story a little different from the common one we know in Fire Red.
What's new?

Below you will see a list of what has been customized:

Pokémon Data:

- HUD and layout have been updated and improved for a better player experience.
All in-game fonts have been blacked out.
P/S/S icons inserted.
IV and Nature display colors inserted.

- Pokémon from Kanto to Galar inserted. (Male/Female sprites, Regional Variants included, but not updated stuff like the vanilla games - Abilities, movesets, evolution levels)...

- All Pokemon had changes in evolutions.
Check out the list below.

- New methods' evolutions inserted:
Male pokémon.
Female Pokémon.
Stone evolution if Male.
Stone evolution if Female.
If Pokémon learn a specific move by level up.
If a specific Pokémon is still at the party. (Remoraid & Mantyke to Mantyke evolves to Mantine).

- Changed the majority of evolutions of Pokémon in the game:

New release:
- v3.2.9 [07/24/2022] - Bug Fixes!

What's new?

v3.2.9 - Bug fixes!:

Few bugs were fixed, but that avoids loss of progress:
- Gran Hotel in Celadon City.
- Spawn List of Digglet's Cave.
- Collision behavior on the rooftop of Celadon Mart Dept.
- Route 07's sign.
- Frozen Forest map (Including scripts and tileset).
- Route's 11 Cavern.

NOTE:
I'm preparing the development of version 3.0, a version in which I will need the progress reseted from all of you.
The changes will be as follows:
- Expansion of safe flags (This is the main reason for the need for you to start the game from scratch).
The "flags" are entries in your .sav memory that make events disappear, items disappear, etc...
As the game is in beta, there was never a full guarantee that you would keep progressing for different versions, although this is the first time this has happened with the hack.
Inserting this feature will open up a huge range of opportunities for new mechanics and ensure that legendary Pokemon events will no longer disappear if you capture a previous event.

- New sprites for hidden items
On the project's Discord server, there was a poll, and massively this new feature won, causing new hidden item sprites to appear on maps.

- The rework all moves that Pokemons learn by level up.
A new rework is on the way. Many Pokemon are needing to balance their moves by leveling up, making the hack more balanced in battle.
It is worth remembering that all Dynamic Machines will enter Rework, to be able to make moves more flexible with the Pocket Tutor item, found in Safari Game.

This new update (3.3) may take from fifteen days to a month to develop.

History versions:
Spoiler:

v3.2.7 - The Spawn List continues again!: 😃

- A lot of minor bugs/glitches were fixed:
Copper River, (Tago Town) background slots were fixed.
Seafoam islands mapscript were fixed.
Route 16's Forest on the left side fixed a bug that display the wrong tiles.
Cerulean Cave's logical Strength boulders system exit was fixed.
Route 10's Dive maps.
Fossil game system on Mt. Moon.
Route 18 cave's tiles.
Beedrill giving Sail Fossil instead of HoneyCombs on Route 26's farm.
Minor bugs on Spawn List signs.
Some places on Route 11's new caves like hitboxes were fixed.

- The first step of Lavender Town rework starts!
All spawns were reworked and increased the level of wild spawns there.
Added Klefki, Shuppet, Honedge, and Dreepy (The rarest spawn)

- Fixed the second ability from Hisuian Typhlosion.

- Fixed a bug with the Scientist battle of Silph Corp.

PS: I'm preparing a new Thief system on ruins, a lot of Pokémon can be inserted to make a prank game, and possibly a new item arrives!

v3.2.6 - The Spawn List continues! 😉

Spawn List feature:
- From Route 09, and 10, Power Plant and Rock Tunnel have been completed!
(Cave maps of these areas are under development).
The maps above had a balance in the level of the wild Pokémon and improvement of some spawns...
An extra map has been added on Route 10, near the PokéCenter, on the right side.

- A massive amount of map bugs have been fixed, such as wall blocking errors, maptile problems, etc...

- Added animations on the Overworld Sprite of the following Pokémon (VIP):
Yveltal (Flying) and Zeraora (Sleeping)
Yveltal when the player interacts with him, causes him to land on the ground and howls,
while Zeraora has a better animation sleeping and after the player gives him a Thunder Stone,
Zeraora will jump and thus start the battle!

- Some dive maps have been inserted and corrected in the following locations:
Route 10 (Lake Dive Added)
Route 13 (Removed useless dive point)
Route 20 (Ocean Diving will be added for the next update)

- Fixed the description of several items and some moves.
I will possibly be changing TMs 01, 28, and 42 in the future.

- Pokémon changes:
Happiny, Chansey, Blissey, and Audino now hold Lucky Egg in the two slots.
Nidoking/Nidoqueen have Defiant as second slot ability.
Piplup to Empoleon have Competitive as second slot ability.

v3.2.5 - The Spawn List version!
What's new? A lot of stuff, or not xD

A new system was inserted - The Spawn List:
- On Route 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 11, 22, 24, 25, 26, (And all cities near these roads also have this feature) will have Gray signs, showing all spawns within the map.
Improvements & Bug Fixes in several maps, such as leveling up and balancing wild Pokémon on all maps that have the Spawn List feature.
Don't worry, this feature is 15/20% complete. I'll be inserting more boards containing Pokémon information on the remaining maps, along with a rework of wild Pokémon levels.

EV reduction items have been fixed!
- From now on, you will be able to use reduction items in any stat and you will also be able to use stat increase items, regardless of level.

Battle Mechanic update!
- When a move animates in battle, the HP bars will disappear until the animation ends.
- The Moonblast and Glazzle Gleam moves had their animations reworked!
The purpose of this move animation rework is to help some users who use emulators on the iOS system, who made their games freeze after their own or opponent's Pokémon used these moves.

Pokemon changes:
- Piplup, Prinplup, and Empoleon now have Competitive as a second ability slot, replacing Defiant.
Nidoran, Nidorino/Nidorina, and Nidoking/Nidoqueen have Defiant as their second ability slot, replacing competitive.
Arrokuda/Barraskewda have Strong Jaw as their second ability slot.

City & Route Reworks:
- Ore Valley took a drastic rework to the map's design and tilesets.
A new Pokemon capture system has been introduced, but it will be accessible for the next update.
There, you will be able to capture several insect-type Pokémon, both by default spawn (Grass) and by Headbutt move, which within this map the use is infinite.
- Pikachu and Grubbin are available in Viridian Forest. (Pikachu is very rare, compared to Eevee on Route 04)
Aipom will appear in some locations by Headbutt.

The bug with Eggs in the Summary was fixed.
Chansey now has a high chance to hold Lucky Egg

v3.2.4 - Fixes and more fixes...
- A lot of fixes were made to this new release:
Route 03 Headbutt tree freezing game.
Cut tree at the right side of Viridian City.
Typo script chats were fixed in some NPCs.
Chrono Island at the north now has full Headbutt trees.
Erika's chat after being defeated on Rematch.
Two Giant Shells on Glane Town fixed.
Removed animation on wall blocks.
Safari Zone's location on the Fly move/Town map now was fixed.

PS: MyBoy and possibly PizzaBoy users will have their game frozen if they have more than one egg in their party and try to access the stats through the Summary.
This will be fixed on the 3.3 version.

v3.2.3 -Dive rework & Pearl Hunting Mechanic!
- Dive has a new face! Algae now have animations on water.
- Added a new Money Farm mechanic: The Pearl Hunting!
This new mechanic makes a new method of making money in the game.
Passages blocked by planks in caves will now be unlocked by the move Smart Strike instead of Cut.
- Pocket Tutor's last slot has been replaced from Discharge to Smart Strike!
- The following Pokémon have had their locations changed:
Suicune is now found on Route 02.
Entei now is found in Viridian City inside a cave.
Registeel is found on Route 18's cave.
Regice is found on Route 04's cave at the south. (Note, you need to unlock the Marsh Badge to the Cave appear).

v3.2.2 -Seafoam Island Rework & Victory Road fixes!
NOTE: A significant amount of bug fixes were made in this release.
It is highly recommended that you update your game.
Save your progress via save-state or through the game itself at any Pokemon center.

- Seafoam Island rework has been completed!
- Fixed several variables inside Victory Road and some NPCs in Route 08.
- A lot of maps have been fixed, increasing their QoL, too.

When using the EV Decrease items, you will not be able to increase your Stats using the Increase Items for the same stat as the item. If you use Magnesium, you won't be able to use Protein, but you can increase your stats by battling against Trainer or Wild Pokémon.
BE CAREFUL USING THESE ITEMS ON REACHING LEVEL 100, once you lower it by mistake, you will not be able to increase the same stat again, only the HP variable is able at the moment...
In the future, this will be fixed, so don't worry.
Most players are not suffering from this, as many balance their EV points before level 50.

v3.2.1 -Celadon Mart Rework!
- The Celadon Mart took a new update:
Now, the game has items to reduce EVs! (You find it easily on the 2nd floor of the Mart)
- 4th gen Pokémon palette shiny has been reworked.
- A anti-cheat system was added to Indigo Plateau.
(To enter the Indigo Plateau again, just complete the maze of Victory Road from the beginning)
- The first attempt to fix the Nugget Bridge prize exploit from vanilla games.
- Fixed a bug in Cerulean Cave where the player was prevented from exiting normally by dragging the Strength Stone.
- Fixed a bug on Route 16 Forest that prevents the player from exiting without the Badge that unlocks Strenght move.
- The Arceus' Event was finished.
- Aurora Island was inserted in-game.
- Minor fixes on Habitat Layout.

Bug list
Spoiler:

Pokedex Area Location on Pokédex Editor is bugged to show the extra areas of spawns.
If you don't use MyBoy/Pizza Boy, mGBA, or VBA if you enter in certain maps, your game has a high chance to freeze.

This project has been under construction starting 2018 to 2019.

- Recommended emulators are:
Android: MyBoy or PizzaBoy
Windows: VBA or mGBA
iOS: Happy Chick, GBA4iOS, Provenance. [Disable the BIOS before playing the game]
Other emulators will cause errors and instability in your gameplay.

Thanks for playing my project!!!

I've created a discord community about the game.

will you include mega evolution or gigantamax?
I don't like the mega evolution and gigantamax systems. They exclude a list of several pokémon and in my opinion, this is bad. 😉

I did not insert these two systems because I consider them to be mutually exclusive.
Ah, the game is good enough for you to have fun without needing these mechanics.

I've lost count of how many times I've played Fire Red but this looks very promising. I have some questions:

Have stats and movepools been altered, or is everything official? I see evolutions have changed for some Pokemon.

Has the difficulty been increased? I see the Elite Four is something else now.

Is there a way to change natures, abilities, IVs or EVs?

All movesets have been changed to give the user a new experience! But the stats like HP, Atk, etc... Is the vanilla values. Abilites and hold items I just made some changes, so don't worry. ;)
You won't regret it once you start playing, I promise!
By the way, my project is recommended for people who have never played Pokémon, too.
I tested it with several friends who didn't even know the games, only the anime,
and wanted to have an experience that could play a game with all the Pokémon inside. Some friends that played many versions loved my project, too.

I just started playing this and i just say, i absolutely love how you've done the maps and sprites. The only gripe that i have, is how the town's have additional houses that i can't enter. It does lessen the immersion a good bit.
Ayee I just dropped my latest single Soulace on all streaming platforms. This is a chill Lofi track that's very personal to me! I hope y'all enjoy!

Hmmmmmm, good idea!
Some people want the extra houses' entrances.
It's a good idea, because I can expand more the horizons for prizes and extra missions!

Could you please add a Nature Changer in a Pokecenter or in the Dept. Store (like in RadicalRed or Unbound)? You can set a high price to balance things out. The graphics and battle backgrounds looks gorgeous, btw.
My project is a non-CFRU rom.
So, this system is only avaliable on CFRU.
Did you liked the graphics and battle backgrounds?!
Thanks!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Just thought I'd ask about the difficulty. Is it necessary for me to ev train and have good natures for mu Pokemon to match up to the difficulty? Thanks!

Amazing job! I totally love the visuals, specially battle backgrounds. Do you plan to change characters' sprites? Perhaps it could match with the new sprites, but this is just my opinion. Either way, if you decide not to, that doesn't take away from the fact that this hack is a masterpiece.
