Corrupt/Invent a Saying

In this game you post either a corruption of an existing saying or invent a completely new one!
You can also translate one literally from another language, if you speak more than one language =)

When corrupting an existing saying please include the original saying too. For example:
'It's raining mice and men'.

Original saying: 'It's raining cats and dogs'.

When creating a new one, you could provide a short description of what the saying tries to convey, or an already existing equivalent saying. For example:

'To broker peace, one must be willing to risk war.'

Meaning: To achieve something you value, you need to be willing to risk everything.

Literally just made this up on the spot. Probably not the best xD

If you speak more than one language you could also translate a saying in your language into English literally to create a new one. If you do this please include the English equivalent as well, or if it has none, a short description of what it means =D
For example:

'It's raining pipe-stems.'

This is from a dutch saying: 'Het regent pijpestelen'. The English equivalent would be 'It's raining cats and dogs'.

Just a random idea for a game I thought could be fun =3
Can't wait to see nobody play this =D

Dogtreats may be temporary, but spandex are forever.
(I have no idea lol)

Now comes the monkey out of the sleeve.

Literal translation from a Dutch saying 'Nu komt de aap uit de mouw'. People use this when something suddenly becomes clear. 'let the cat out of the bag' is probably the closest saying in English.
