Lookalikes

Is there a character from the pokemon universe that reminds you of another character? They may look like other people or pokemon within the franchise, or they could be similar to a character from a whole different fandom,

I always thought that Tory from the 7th movie Destiny Deoxys looked so much like a chibi Steven Stone that he could be his younger brother. I would love to discover one day that they are somehow blood relations. Since they both live in Hoenn I think it would make perfect sense.

Eugene chaud from mega man battle network has always reminded me of hugh, The both wear red jackets, and they have the same personality

These two were definitely a reference/easter egg of Sakura and Tomoyo from Cardcaptor Sakura. They don't have any names and were just in the background, but I think the intent was clear here.

Bonji from the I Choose You! movie bears a striking resemblance to Uncle Pom from Castle in the Sky. Likely intentional, as Pokémon has referenced Ghibli before. They even have some similar lines, as someone else pointed out.

And Professor Ivy's assistants look quite similar to Scooby Doo's Velma imo.

Yes, yes, YES, YES!! There are four doppelgangers that I found over the years. Two old, two are very recent.

The original female trainer from Crystal has the hairstyle of Tron Bonne from the Mega Man Legends series.
Red's growing stoicism and clean cut determination in the games has convinced me that he is relative to Ryu. His long lost son, maybe? You know, Ryu from Street Fighter? I cannot see that any clearer than Red from Sun/Moon or Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon. Forgot which versions, I never played that far to meet him.
Klara, one of the Sword rivals in the Isle of Armor... I could swear Game Freak was *this* close to ripping off Mitsuri Kanroji (Kimetsu no Yaiba/Demon Slayer), pink hair, flashy clothes and everything. I know, ripoff sounds harsh but these two showed up around the same timeframe in 2020 when Kimestu no Yaibu was getting real popular.
Lastly, Poppy of the Paldean Elite Four has the chibi body and looks of Anya Forger from Spy x Family minus the hair colour, so I presume she is wearing a wig in the former role.

Seeing as how uncanny Klara and Poppy looked like their anime counterparts, I'd like to think of them as 'special guest' characters in the Pokémon world. Not tooting my horn here but it's a heck of a concept. Let's call them all 'special guests' from now on, it's cute.
