I had the DVD in last night and it was an absolute spit-take moment when I realized what I did XD

Athrun Zala is the male version of Mimori Kiryu. It wasn't until now that I saw the connection; I was just limited to comparing two members of the same sex. Thanks for the new intel. >D

Admittedly I was surprised myself; I couldn't believe it at first; I'm currently making my own comparison chart (minor differences from yours) and I had originally placed Athrun as young Ryuho, but it didn't exactly fit. Now, I can safely say that Athrun is the male Mimori Kiryu, or, even (although it violates my Ryuho X Sherrice ship), Athrun looks exactly what I now imagine Ryuho and Mimori's love child to look like.

Mimori Kiryu + Ryuho = Athrun Zala

Well, it does make some amount of sense. If Athrun was an Alter user instead of a Coordinator, what would his power be? Would he look good in a HOLY uniform, or would he be better off as a renegade native like Kazuma?

I would imagine his Alter Power to be a giant Haro...I can think of nothing it would do but bounce around and crush things...basically a round, cuddly, gigantic Zetsuei o_O;

I'm sure I could use my crude paint skills to put Athrun in a HOLY uniform just to see what it would look like; I've always thought Athrun looks more prim and proper in a uniform than in civilian clothes, though; so I'm leaning toward him being on the side of Ryuho and Mimori.

I love finally being able to draw comparisons...
