I'm making my own celebration thread cuz it's what the cool kids do plus I don't know if anyone else would remember lmao
But yes! According to my timezone it is now the 15th which means I joined 12 years ago.
I joined PC as a 13 year old. I am now 25. There's no doubt that I absolutely grew up on PC - I am in part who I am because of this forum. It's funny how such a small portion of the Internet can absolutely change your life. I have made friends, I have moved to another state, I have my boyfriend of almost four years, I am more creative, I am stronger - all because I joined 12 years ago.
I haven't always been around. I've faded back and forward, done some legit crazy stuff - like seriously the classic "gay change my title", "tcti" and various DCC's are good examples of some of the weird things I've come up with here.
But in saying that I've always come back. I've done so much - I hosted a TCTI, made a DCC, admined the battle server, I was the one that asked TCTI to be remade originally - back in 2007!, was the first mod of Black and White (first six months were so incredible), placed really well in events, came up with ideas for April Fools, made forum styles, hosted a whole Get Together, hosted individual GT events, contributed to so many forums with my thoughts and ideas... there's probably a lot more I have done but honestly I can't remember lol What matters is through all I've done I've played a part in shaping PC - we all have really! By far though my favourite "achievement" was changing the culture of Pokemon Gaming - before Black and White everything was a lot more serious, trivia games and things weren't really hosted - I'm also p sure we (Kaori & me) invented weekly polls too... and now that has dripped over to the other generations which are now a more welcome and less serious culture due to how we shaped the BW forum to start with. So by far happiest with that I would say.
But yes! 12 years of fun, weirdness and yeah! I've had so many incredible memories because of this forum and I'm so thankful it was created and so thankful for the friends I've made along the way. Almost all my friends in my life are literally all because of here. I wouldn't have my boyfriend in my life, and wouldn't have met him if it wasn't for PC. As weird as it is... due to how I grew up... I don't think I would have a life had I not been involved in this forum and the irl effects that it had. Weird sentence but yeah.
...now if you love me being on PC go make a million posts in fifth and second gen! Or don't, I'll be here anyway lmao.
