GITMO -- I have no opinion of it. I hardly hear it. Maybe it's because I don't watch the news? o.o; But I can see how it can get annoying at times.
COMBINED CELEBRITY NAMES-- I agree with this one, although like GITMO, I don't see it much. It isn't very original, isn't it? And it just makes people look lazy. :/
AWESOME -- So it's overrused, big deal. :/ I like it... still use it. XD;; But that's just me.
GONE/WENT MISSING -- I can see why, but I'm not going "yaaaaaaay it's banned", you know? o.o; It's more of a neutral thing.
PWN or PWNED -- Personally, I like it, but I won't fight this one. I usually say "owned" more anyway. Is "owned" banned yet?
NOW PLAYING IN THEATERS -- I'm neutral on this.
"How often do movies premiere in laundromats or other places besides theaters? I know that when I want to see a movie I think about going to a shoe store." -- Andrea May, Shreveport, Louisiana.
That kind of logic is flawed though. Although it's true that you can't see it in a shoe store, you can see movies in airplanes, on movies, or in places other than theaters.
On the other hand, I guess most people don't even think of the above, do they?
WE'RE PREGNANT -- Probably one of the best ones on the list. :D Yay for logic.
UNDOCUMENTED ALIEN -- Hm? I don't get this one at all.
ARMED ROBBERY/DRUG DEAL GONE BAD -- Armed robbery? I can see why it's gone, considering many violent acts require arms of some sort. However, you can use other things than arms to hurt and rob.
Drug deal gone bad? Moreso than armed robbery, I must admit. It's... I don't quite want to say clishé, but that's the only word I can think of right now to describe it.
TRUTHINESS –- I don't even get this word.
ASK YOUR DOCTOR -- No matter how much they hate it, I don't see it going anytime soon. I don't think the market is going to change just because a bunch of whiny people want it changed. I almost want to say they put that in for legal reasons. It sounds like something they'd have to do. o_O Don't quote me on that one though.
CHIPOTLE -- I don't hear this much to begin with. O_o I don't hear much of anything these days, I guess...
i-ANYTHING -- Amen to that. It gets annoying.
SEARCH --
"Might as well banish it. The word has been replaced by 'google.'" -- Michael Raczko, Swanton, Ohio.
Sorry sir, but I cannot "google" for my pants in my room. /sort of mean reply
Overall, I don't like this one, but I do guess that I can find other words that aren't "search" and "google", hm?
HEALTHY FOOD -- Meh, it is overrused, hm?
BOASTS -- I can see ads... but for regular speech? How are we supposed to explain Beowulf now if it's banned!? D: *shot*
But yeah, okay for ads, not okay if you're trying to explain the word itself. But then again, I guess they'd just say "boast" if they meant that word, hm?
