2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver

Much anticipated gold medal hockey game tomorrow!
Word on the streets are that tickets are easily 5000$ each... (don't quote me on that but I wouldn't be surprised).
Congrats to Canada's curling team (male) for the well deserved gold medal, as well as the speed skating event!

Canadians flaming Americans. Guess which sport that came from? :P
I know - it's curling! ;P

I've been enjoying these Olympics (or leastways what I've watched). Hurrah for Poland getting a gold medal today - was an entertaining race as it came down right to the wire. (Ski cross-country 30km). But Australia has also done well - two gold, whee. We're done better than a lot of other countries that actually have a winter to speak of!

Also of interest was the team indoor skating races - particular the women's semi with Germany vs. USA. First an american lagged behind, and then nar the end a german got back problems and fell down but still tried to keep going, sliding across the finish line. Amusing to see her disappointment suddenly turn into joy when she looked up and realised she did just enough - they won by 0.2 seconds iirc. And then in the final they came back from a 1.76 second gap with 2 laps to go to win by 0.03 seconds. Pretty impressive.

I doubt I'll be able to see the ice hockey final which is a shame, but oh well. Bet it'd be entertaining

I am going to be watching the big hockey game today it should be an okay game but I think Canada is going to win this time.

Meh, nearly everyone here was pissed off after the victory of USA on the USA vs Finland match. I'm sure that the amount of working TVs dropped dozen percents :D Good that we didn't end up empty-handed, though. Go Canada!

Finland was good, but the US just played like they really wanted their shot at the gold medal.

And Slovakia almost had Canada and Finland, so they played good even though they finished just outside the medal podium.

Please tell somebody is watching the US/Canada hockey game. Parise with an epic goal with 24 seconds left in regulation. What a game. ;D

Edit: American's lost. :/ Hell of a game though.

CANADA!! CROSBY ILU! WE GOT GOLD!

dsljfkldjgdl what an AMAZING GAME i cannot stop CAPSLOCKING eeeeeeeeee!!!

We had a great lead for a while with 2-0 but then the US came up and in the last 20 seconds of regulation, tied it. ugggh I was so nervous. ;_; But sldkjflsjd we did it! We got the goal in overtime which makes me so happy because it wouldn't have felt right if it went to shootout.

That was such an amazing game. Both teams played amazingly and it was a great game to watch. I wouldn't have had it any other way~

But eeee! We got our gold medal, we got our "revenge" on the US for that earlier game, the men's hockey podium is EXACTLY the same (which is pretty cool) and yaaaay we set a new record for gold medals won at a single Winter Olympic games!

Wooo. Yay Canada.

Didn't watch the entire thing, but did continually check the score while doing some homework. Watched the third, overtime, and the winning goal. Love that Crosby had the winning goal.

Maybe I should have watched the whole thing XD Looks like it was pretty even. Same amount of penalty and powerplay minutes, America with 36 shots and Canada with 39.

Not a sports guy. It bores me generally. But during the Olympic games, be it summer or winter, I watch and care. Particularly hockey, because even if I don't like watching it because I can never notice the puck, it's a cultural thing and I know winning this is big.

Didn't exactly "own the podium", but I'm quite happy with how we did throughout the games. Yay record for gold medals!

Canada personally have more then 15 medals , counting for each perosn of women and mens hockey team LOL! either way USA has more silvers then Canada, good job USA as well....CROSBY Your then man! NO HOMO!!!!

Canada one the gold everyone is going to party. Canada was going to have to get the gold hockey is their sport I am happy for them.

Canada has won the most golds in a single Winter Olympics since they began, with fourteen... which is just sweet.

And when Crosby scored that amazing winning goal in overtime my mom and I went crazy.

If I were a woman I would probably be willing to bear his child at this moment. o.o

Little late cause I've been partying it up and celebrating CROSBY'S GOAL!! I can't even describe that moment, it was just pure joy!!

AND...GO CANADA GOLD!! SIDNEY CROSBY AND THE MENS HOCKEY TEAM, KEVIN MARTINS CURLING RINK, JASEY JAY ANDERSON, DENNY MORRISON AND THE MENS TEAM PURSUIT, CHARLES HAMLIN AND THE MENS 5000m RELAY, CHARLES HAMLIN, MARIE-PHILIP POULIN AND WOMENS HOCKEY, HEATHER MOYSE'S BOLBSEIGH, ASHLEIGH MCIVOR, TESSA VIRTUE+SCOTT MOIR, JON MON...TGOMERY, CHRISTINE NESBITT, MAELLE RICKER AND ALEXANDRE BILODEAU!! Hate to rain on your parade, but that's not setting records like we did yesterday. <3

I watched most of the third period. Intense stuff. That goal in the last 30 seconds really pissed me off, but we won it in the end. Go Crosby! <3

I think I left about 3-4 hours after the game ended to go hang out with some friends of mine. We were driving to the south end of the city, and everywhere we went, people were waving the Canadian flag and beeping their horns. Something tells me that a wave of hangovers is plaguing the city right about now...

Oh, twas a good day for the country, methinks. It's kinda unfortunate that my friends and I had a party the day before...lmao

Best weekend EVAR.

Because... he is a good... hockey player? :( Lmao I dunno.

Haha, hockey game out of the way, did anyone watch the fabulous closing ceremony? That was AMAZING. I have never been more proud of my country. We officially embraced all our horrible stereotypes (although we were lacking igloos) and showed the world the power of our GIANT INFLATABLE BEAVERS and stripper Mounties and Hockey Night in Canada. ksdlfdkf it was the greatest.

But I don't think anyone who doesn't live in Canada really got it or liked it, lmao.
