Question Of The Day #23: What new forum would you add to PC?

PokeCommunity is not just a Pokemon site, but a site that's topics range well beyond the Pokemon universe. From debating about politics to discussing anime and manga, from just playing video games with friends to talking about your weird turnons with friends, PokeCommunity seems to have a place for everything.

It is the X anniversary of PC and the Admins have allowed it's members the opportunity to create their own forum based on their own interests. Forgetting whether or not it would overlap into an already existing forum, what kind of forum would you create and what would it be about? Would you be the person who moderates that forum, or would you have someone else do it? What kind of events would you have relating to that forum?

VISUAL KEI.

I don't give a fuck if no one has interest. Someone wandering these forums has to love visual kei, I mean come on. It would be about well... visual kei. I also think it'd be a perfect way for people to understand it too. Most people think they look like girls. What the don't realize is that in visual kei though, J-rockers have a very androgynous appearance. This makes them very easy to be mistaken for a girl.

Anyway, I would hope to moderate it. I mean, it was my idea. :P I don't know about events though. I guess it'd just be simple things like "guess that song/jrocker/whatever" or something. I'm terrible at coming up with events. XD

A cookbook in the form of a forum. Talk about food in general in the DCC, threads about recipes, different styles of cooking, what seasoning goes good with what,who's who in the culinary world and more.​

I'd definitely mod this. gimme.

And as far as events go? Cook offs or recipe making. Something along those lines. An annual competition with 3 judges consisting of people who know what they're doing when it comes to food and then myself judging entries by members in the categories of recipe and presentation. They would make a recipe, and then make whatever the recipe is and submit both the recipe and a picture and the judges would recreate it following the recipe and visual guideline/s and then judge.

Exactly why we need one... see? :P jk. Well, visual kei is a type of music style in Japanese rock music. As I said, it originated from the 80's style clothing or something like that. I'll show you some examples of what it looks like in Japanese music though:

Those are just some examples. That's what visual kei is. Simply put, it's androgynous japanese guys who dress in eccentric style stage clothes and where lots of make up. XD They play pretty much the same styles as much that we do... but just in Japanese.

I think there should be a forum called Travel Showcase (tentative title), where we can talk about the favorite spot in every country. Just in case any PC members want to go to another country for visit, they can check and discuss about many cities, and they may know the good spot in every city, so this section can work as a mini tour guide too.

As for modding that section, I'm not sure of it, and probably the events in that section will be related to guessing the knowledge of one of the country in the world.

Of course. There would be the annual bake off that would be sweetly reminiscent of vg's the marathon. Address all food taste testing submissions to 1234 Sonata Gonna Get So Fat Blvd. and we'll see where it goes from there.

It reminds me of K-Pop, except that the happy, upbeat vibes that their outerwear expresses is replaced with gothic, darkness.

You would get an emblem, a nice little placard that says "Good job" on it with some little glow in the dark stickers, the satisfaction of having satisfied the unsatisfiable, a recipe of your choice would be featured every week until you either run out of recipes or the next event starts and of course you also get a handwritten letter from me asking you to marry me because your cooking is out of this world. And if you're lucky enough I might even buy you one of those little 25 cent vending machine rings.

A section about Cars. Being able to talk about future or current releases, races, events about classic cars too. Help people with basic mechanical issues too. It's a... Decent idea?

Decent idea indeed! Would you say you have enough knowledge to moderate that kind of section?

Language tutoring forum would be neat :pink_nod: Definitely not the goal of the site, but it'd be interesting to talk about just languages in general: form, grammar, helping others learn languages, having DCC topics for specifically popular languages, etc.

I speak French and a bit of Spanish, but such a forum would be interesting for when I start learning Japanese :pink_nod:

What about a forum for media showcasing? I know there are a couple of threads out there in Culture & Media and Pokémon General for these sort of things (one for Pokémon-related content only, and another for everything else), which aren't garnering much attention right now, unfortunately, but if we were to experiment on this in an entire board, I feel it'd be interesting to see how different our results wind up to be.
