Does anyone know how we will transport our Pokemon from X and Y to Alpha Sapphire? I'm assuming its by means of Pokemon Bank, however i have no clarification. Or will it be through some other way? Such as a Pokemon transporter like the one we saw in Black 2/White 2?

I apologize in advance if there is a thread already discussing this.

Pokebank will do the job, but given the games are on the same system, we should be able to trade them over the old fashioned way too. So if you haven't bought Pokeman Bank, you should still be able to get your pokemon across to the new games if you have a buddy willing to help you out.

I wonder if we will be able to transport Pokemon from Bank at the very start of the game or if that feature will be unlocked later on in the game to stop players bringing overpowered and non hoenn native pokemon in early on in the story.

Doubt they will let you transport to early in the game. Wish they let you do it earlier but, some players would start sending in there lev.100s as soon as they get the final badge.

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to use Pokemon Bank as soon as. It's allowed in X & Y so I don't see why they would change it. Most people enjoy going through the game with a team they caught and defeating the E4 with it, if people want to ruin it for themselves and speed through the game with a bunch of overleveled Pokemon, let them.

I want to send over a Buneary anyway so it better be available straight away lol. I know it's probably obtainable but it levels up faster. :P

but anyway, the transporting will be available to do by regular trading, as well as Bank. Both are in the same generation; XY will probably receive a patch upon ORAS' release to go with the new megas and possible items etc.

I hope so (both bank and XY update)

I may just send over a mienfoo (lv1 on breed from my white 2 one), the shiny Dratini from White 2 if you can bank straight away.

I don't see why they would just keep Pokémon Bank exclusive to X/Y. Just not really, because why would they spend so much time into something just for XY? Be realistic, GF won't do that. I'm assured that it'll come to OR/AS.

FrLg restricted trade with RS until post game. So perhaps OrAs will do the same thing. Restricting us only to trade between Or and As copies.
Also I think they will have to patch Pokebank itself to read and accept ORAS.

I would guess pokebanks already good to go with ORAS, and was developed with the game in mind. (Pokemon Colosseum came out a year before Fire Red/ Leaf Green, but colosseum included Red as a trainer if you hooked up Fire Red/ Leaf Green to the game.

I was not aware of that. Perhaps they have indeed already coded it to read them then.

I know but that was 3rd Gen. :P A lot has changed and trading has always been allowed from the 1st badge onward since.

Bank also isn't trading, I starting a new game in X once and I immediately took a Gastly from Bank and was available to use it the instant I got a PC.

I like to think that Pokémon Bank was made with ORAS in mind, at least for the most part. It's inspired by (and I guess a sequel of?) Pokémon Box Ruby & Sapphire on the GameCube, with Brigette and everything. Plus, it's the only means of transfer for people who buy exclusively digital copies.

The reason that pokébank was created was that it would stay and could be used with future generations. So wy would I not be able to use it for OR/AS? The very reason it was made for? So it would be obvious that we can use pokébank from the beginning. We can probally trade pokémon with X&Y since the start to. FR/LG were the only games were you needed to complete a post game quest. I don't think the other games needed that.

I don't remember the exact requirements for using Bank on your XY games; I know one of them involved having the PokéDex. Perhaps you needed to have one Gym Badge, also, but I can't remember for certain. But I think similar requirements will be in place for using bank in conjunction with ORAS. I think the limitation on FRLG was in place to try and keep the games as similar to the originals as possible (only gen 1 Pokémon before the post-game), but since it seems like ORAS will feature Pokémon from outside the traditional Hoenn PokéDex, there won't be as much of a need to control what Pokémon the player gets before the post-game.

In Pokemon X and Y, the requirements of the use of PokeBank were to have a PokeDex. So, going by that, we should be able to get our Pokemon before Petalburg.

I think the PokeBank was intended to be the next big transfer/storage method, not just for XY and I'm sure it'll somehow work into the future generation as well.

I think that we will be able to trade with XY, however, I don't recall that we've ever been able to transfer Pokemon before clearing the game, so there's that to consider. It could be different this time around because there isn't a location ingame that you have to go to in order to transfer. They could maybe lock it somehow?

They said in one of the poke bank announcement videos that you would be able to use it for future games, not just x and y, so poke bank will be usable with ORAS

In Gen IV (well DPP as Kanto had the Pal park and that was HgSs' post game) we needed a certain number of Pokémon before we could transfer (I wasn't aware of this until awhile ago when I looked up Pal Park on Bulbapedia).
They could block it by having Poke Bank be unable to read copies that haven't completed the game at least once.
