In Pokemon Soulsilver, if I defeat Lugia the first time I see it, will he, and if so, when and how often reappear?

Does that work for Lugia only or some other Pokemon as well?

Info Im finding online are very unreliable and everyone says something different lol.

He will not reappear, but you can catch Ho-Oh once you beat the elite 4
I know this because I played Heart-Gold, which is just Ho-Oh and Lugia swaped

He will only appear once per game

By the way, the best place for information about the games is Serbii.net

The Kimono girl said they will come back once everything is cooled down or something like that.

Dont take me wrong but I need someone to give me a 100% accurate answer.

I havent played pokemon since Diamond back in 2008 when I was 11 and i sure miss it :D
Anyway, its my fav pokemon game of them all and does anyone know a way to play it online after the NWFC shutdown? Thanks

It is impossible to play DS and Wii games online due to the shutdown, but you can still play Pokemon online if you have X or Y for the 3DS. Also, the upcoming games, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will also be Wi-Fi compatible.

Basically what User 101 said. Unfortunately they closed their online connectivity (which sucks for us <4th Gen gamers).

Anyway, I'm going to move this into the 4th Gen Help Thread. If you have other quick questions, post them there! :)

My question still stands, if anyone knows.. :)

My understanding is that all non-roaming legendaries will reappear in their places if you previously defeated them after you defeat the Elite Four.

Mine too, but I really need someone who played the game and remembers these details to confirm lol.

I dont feel like catching it plus I like the scene with lugia and all so I wanted it to stay that way for as long as possible :)

Not just roaming Pokémon - even those will reappear after defeating them then the league. This was the case at least as of Platinum, if i'm not mistaken.

Which game should I buy?

I want to start playing Gen 4 and so on. I was wondering out of Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum which do you recommend? Also out of HG and SS since I need those games too?

It depends on what you can find at what price. My personal recommendation is Platinum for the full 4th gen experience. HG/SS are great too, but if you've already played the original Johto games and are looking for more fresh experience I'd go with Platinum. Also HG/SS can be very pricey whereas Platinum shouldn't cost you anymore than $25, which isn't exactly cheap either, but no Pokemon games are really as people tend to hold onto them.

No worries buddy. I can't sleep at the minute, so I'm just hitting the New Posts thing at the top and helping where I can.

For exploring the Sinnoh region, I highly recommend Platinum over Diamond and Pearl. The game moves a lot quicker (surfing, battle speed) than DP do, plus the Pokedex and post-game are bigger. You'll have much more to do in Platinum than in DP and you can get it done at a good time. I honestly don't recommend Diamond and Pearl at all because Platinum cleans up their major problems. Only bother with DP if you're desperate or just looking to collect.

As for HGSS, there are no major differences in the two and it really depends on the Pokemon you like since there are version exclusives. Check out Serebii's page on exclusives for each game so you can deduct what you'd like! Both games are really pricey though, as Vinny said. Not sure why. But they're still about retail price when they first came out, and that's without the box, manual, and Pokewalker. It sucks, but eh. Try asking for it for Christmas if you don't want to shell out too much, haha.

Good luck!

Heartgold and Soulsilver are 2 awesome games. The pokemon have sprites that follow behind you. You should get Diamond and then HG

Sydian pretty much summed up what I was going to say. Platinum is definitely your best bet out of DPPt, and as for HGSS, it's honestly up to what version exclusives you prefer. :)

Anyway I'm going to push this into the 4th Gen Help Thread!

Hi Bulbmandle!

You've asked to pick very wonderful games! The only method of choice is personal taste. Diamond and Pearl were released earlier than Platinum, and only contain their respective legendary Pokemon (Dialga in Diamond, Palkia in Pearl). Platinum has a different story line with improved graphics, so it definitely has the aesthetic edge over the former two! Whether this appeals to you or not, they're all practically the same and all contain the same amounts of fun!

All in all, any game out of the three is absolutely amazing and is recommended by anyone! Happy playing :)

Migration from Emerald/FireRed

Hello!

Not sure if I'm doing this correctly, but this is my first post. I was wondering if some of you out there have any experience from migration to DS, and if any of you have some positives/negatives when it comes to migrating to Platinum or SoulSilver. I am getting kind of bored with the whole GBA platform, and would like to move onward now while leveling up my pokemon. So any wise advice would be really great (or not wise, maybe just what you might prefer) :)

Kind regards,
St4rlord
