Ohh, random surprise. Any link to this, though? I want a look. There are probably a few other things it could be on as well though - maybe something relating to the upcoming new MD game, or even Platinum... =/ But yes - would be, methinks, in Japan, and we'd have to wait for the translations on it.

The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games are developed by Chunsoft not Gamefreak, so how can they can discuss the upcoming Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game?

Anyway I am look foward to see what this announcement is all about.

Exactly. These guys are all gamefreak as far as we know. I dont exaclty know the link to Masuda's blog but he says it there. Seeing as it would be on pokemon sunday in japan around 8am that morning for me i would be able to check it out on youtube cause of the 7 hour difference. So whatever it is it has to be special. This will be the first time he is announcing something and giving us a surpise.

Yeah tomorrow for me today for you. Imust be at least 5-7 hours ahead of you.

Somewhere else. Question. Your time zone is what?I can give youan exact time youll be to get info

Don't get your hopes up too much... if you do and it turns out not to be anything like that, then you'll feel deflated. Best to expect little and maybe get pleasantly surprised.

I'd be surprised myself if it was either one of those two though given atm they are selling Platinum and would probably want to focus on that... eh, I'll find out whenever. *shrugs*

If that was the case then why make an announcement? It could not be like a full announcement but maybe like how NEP would be in a game. Once they do say something like that or something to those words then yes maybe we could get excited.

Many announcements occur that turn out to be false hopes. (Likewise, good news can come out of nowhere). For instance, shortly after Brawl, there was an article with a short interview with Sakurai which seemed to suggest that an alternate version of Brawl would be made - not a sequel in the distant future but one with extra features like more characters - like Crystal was to GS.

Many took it to be true and all, getting really excited...until it appeared that said article hadn't been that accurate - comments taken out of context, and Sakurai merely said that it would be nice if another SSB game was made, nothing more. Not an announcement but an example on things not coming to fruitation after a bit of info is given out. First thing I thought of at this late hour anyways.

So although it quite easily could be, don't count your chickens before they hatch. After all, there was nothing specific on what it is in this announcement, so it could be anything. And me - I prefer to run the risk of being pleasently surprised rather than disappointed. =P Also - I don't think that 'good news' coming from the announcement is necessarily limited to the announcement of the 5th gen/GS remakes either. =P

A remake would be amazing, but it would most likely never will happen. Well, unless Nintendo decides to keep it a secret for this long, but that never happens.

I see no point in this, as you can find most of all Jhoto Pokémons through the various games, even the Legendary as well!

For example,

Lugia and Ho-oh can be found in Collessium and XD: Gale of Darkness
The three Jhoto starters can be obtain after you completed your pokédex.
The Legendary Dogs can be found in FR/LG if you search long enough.

Since when has GF cared about making sense?
Never, that's when.
Don't believe me? Farfetch'd learns Heat Wave, Wish, and Yawn. Ground Shaymin gets Air Slash. Wobbufett gets Tickle.

Also, they released Pokemon Yellow when you could already catch the first 151. And Pokemon Crystal, when you could already get all 250, purely for Celebi. And we got Emerald, when we could already get all 386 (Mew from events). We're getting Platinum when we already have access to all 493. LG/FR were simply made for 3 reasons. And I'm sure you can guess which one is most important to GF.
1) To give access to unobtainable Pokemon.
2) Money
3) They simply felt like it.

Pure Fan Demand could be enough for remakes to occur. After all, there isn't much that needs to be thought up, just a few things need to be remade into the new graphics. Besides, doing it that way requires that you have a GCN/Wii and a GBA/DS as well as the games, Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, LeafGreen, Coliseum, and XD.

Lets not also forget that movies a LOT of times reflect a game or a game duo to be released soon. Movie 11, movie 7 and lets not forget every single movie that features a next gen pokemon. Advertising is running through the movies for the games and lol and behold we got 3 jhoto starters in the movie as well as this fancy notch ear pichu and hell shiny pichu's got a name lift as pikachu colored pichu. So you also have to ask yourself:
You got a bunch of 2nd gen pokemon in a movie and the have no relevance to the movie most likely and have no connection to current games. I just want to wonder why! Hmm... could it be?

Yep think like that and you mostly gone into the heads of the fiends who make pokemon work the way it does.

We should compile a list of all GSC references in 3rd and 4th gens, just for people new to the discussion. And to bolster our point that they are getting remade.

Gah, just 6 more hours till we get some news.

don't forget, it'll take a while for the news to get posted. so it's more like at least 7 hours. =P

and Mitchman does make a point. Like I said, we'll wait and see! =3

Yeah and im lucky enough to wake up 8 in the morning 8 hours after the news instead of you guys who are lucky to get it at 10 at night. DAMN! But i will wake up with happiness. Of course i have a point. 10 years in and you can basically follow the marketing pattern of pokemon zelda and even metroid. Otherwise i have no idea how to follow sony or microsoft.
