    PC's being pwnd by n00bs .. And like tons of you'll say: n00bs like Max.. .. so here's an idea. Check on everyone who enters PC as a new member, check if they're n00bs or proper members. If they're n00bs or newbies, there's gotta be a way to force and teach them the basics of forum posting.

    JUST ASKING THEM TO READ THE RULES AND FAQ DOESN'T WORK.. Yeah. See, there are tons of n00bs here that'll be willing to learn. If something's done about it, they can be respectable members.

    I'm against just giving them bans. See, if you ban them, they get a feeling of hatred or something. If they're first PROPERLY TAUGHT THE BASICS - instead of "Please don't spam, you've been warned." .. who knows if that person doesn't even know the defination of spam and thinks what he/she's posting is right?

    v_v My 2 cents on encouraging a n00b training center.

    Are you insane? o_O
    Do you realize how much time/effort that would take? And our staff are already working hard enough trying to keep the forum alive- we don't have time to be introducing n00bs to society. Especially since most of them don't want to be taught, or think they're better than the staff in the first place. >>

    Eh, get other people doing them? Normal members can help? Its hard but I've done it. Anyone know of Drummershuff? I'm almost CERTAIN he'd be banned by now if I hadn't actually forced him to learn and type properly and all.

    Don't go saying he's a n00b. That one thing's called member disrespect I believe. And a ton of people deserve proper warnings for that, since I got one some time back. v_v

    How could this possibly be done o____O

    PokeCommunity is a place for talking with fellow peers about common interests, not *training and babysitting the minority of those that decide to misbehave*

    1. clik on da noob's profile
    2. clik da link dat adds em 2 ur ignore list
    also nah, ur sayin we shuld forec ppl 2 typ proparly? lol stupid idea

    And now you see my point. I guarantee you weren't annoyed by that, because you know me. But if I were a new member, you'd scream 'Oh my God! A n00b! He doesn't use proper English he must die!'

    ...yeah, just no. And whether or not you're stereotyping an illiterate as a noob, there's also no point teaching those who are real noobs - as in, people who indulge in pointless fighting because they think they're better than you. Those people aren't worth the effort.

    Eh.. its just that I find it unjust to simply ban and punish the minority that is the n00bs and newbies. That's all.

    Fine then, training center for the willing to learn. v_v How's that sound?

    Thats Life*

    I mean people don't get off the hook from crimes when the visit foreign countries just because they *didn't know*. When you visit a place, you should have the common sense to research the place first and know the rules [laws]

    And that common sense is not present in many. ^^;; So that's where the suggestion comes in .. force newbies to actually learn all this. Seriously.

    Y'know, i think we should be given the option to pair up with a "newbie", under the "false" statement that we'd just be friends and help each other out, i've sorta been brotlov's guardian angel because he's my friend in real life, it's my fault he's less of a n00b than he would've been.

    "Apprentices" anyone? v_v See, that's the thing I did when I became friends with Matt. Fortunately he listened to my grumbling at him and typed properly.

    1f he talk lyk dis in da pc he wud be bnnd by nw. ^_~

    liek whenzor ppl tlk liek ths? or 1'/\/\ $P3$|-|@L

    you find n00b langauges all over. We need to do something about the n00bs in HOTS though its getting really outta hand. single sprite threads swarming like flies and stuff

    If he talks like that he doesn't need a apprentice he just needs to pay more attention in school.

    And if the lack common sense, that isn't our problem. You know what maybe you should just take it upon yourself to do it if you think it's such a good idea ;P

    I personally think it's better to educate newbies. I'm not the greatest, I know... ^^;

    However, it... it takes time, and I just don't think that we have the time to do it. If members want to help out and educate newbies, go ahead and do it. You don't need our premission to go and PM a newbie you think needs help. If you do that, that's great. I just don't think the staff would help out too much, that's all. ._.;

    I'll personally try my best to make sure that the members know what I mean when I yell at them before I give them an official warning (from now on; alas, I was probably doing things too quickly yesterday). ^^;

    My two cents -

    If a new member really wants to learn to be a "better member", they'd probably make an effort to keep warnings and advice that mods give them in mind and try not to spam and break rules any more. The n00bs, however, wouldn't care, and if we told them that they had to be 'trained' or something they'd probably go off in these little "WHAT????!!!!! IM NOTA NOOB!!!!!!! SHUTUP IM OLDR & smARTER THAN U & I HVE BTTR POKEMON!!!!!!!! UR JUST JELUS!!!!!" outbursts, which would lead to them flaming mods and saying that they're 'leaving the site' just to get attention but only to come back three days later to say they aren't mad any more.

    The training center idea would be enough to irk n00bs into going insane and breaking rules to the point where we have to ban them (which gets rid of them), but as for newbies, if they really want to be a part of this community and they're willing to get improve their grammar and learn about the rules and how the forum works, the training really isn't nessacary and they could probably do a good job with it on their own. :3

    How about no. Like Robo said, we got enough forum junk on our hands (mostly from n00bs not going by the rules).

    "Eh, get other people doing them? Normal members can help?"
    Oh you don't know how funny I found that. There's only a few normal members on PC that I'd trust to teach someone something. The rest I call n00bs (lately, even the older members has turned into n00bs).

    n00bs will not learn. They will do 1 of 2 things.
    1: Leave the forum
    2: Never ever learn

    Obviously you have never dealt with a n00b Edgeboy. If you have then it was just a small run in that was over when you left the thread. I on the other had have to deal with them over PMs. PMs that don't stop once you send a reply. I have warned n00bs, told them to read the rules, told them to stop doing whatever they are doing, and it doesn't work. n00bs are not newbies, doesn't matter how much anyone tries n00bs will never be a good member on PC. Hell even a few members (as in high post count people) are worse then members that just joined. You can poke them and prod them all you want, you can try to mold them into a good member. If it's a newbie then it'll happen, if it's a n00b then it's never going to happen. There is no need for a training forum because it won't do any good, they'll leave or never learn like I said before. It's just far more work then it's worth.

    There is one way to lessen the amout of N00bs that join the forum. Though whether it will work is beyond me. But my theory was to make the main forums invisible to members with under say 10 to 20 posts, so that they have to post in say...announcments or Q and F to gain those ten or twenty so posts so that they can view the rest of the forum. This way it would reduce the amount of people who just wish to join and also give us a lead on who are noobs and spammers before they can gain access to the main forums.

    I have seen it work before if that is any help at all.

    That also wouldn't work. You'd have 20 threads in Q&F asking stupid things just to run up their post count. A good many of the n00bs on PC is around the Pokemon gaming forum. They'll join, ask their game question and leave. Doesn't matter if it should be in the simple questions thread or is in the game FAQ. They won't read them even if it's quicker then starting a thread.

    But it would still give the chance of catching on to a noob before they can attack the main forums. But I do see where you are coming from, but I do still think it would help, if only a little.

    If I were stuck in that, I'd feel extremely insulted and would never come back :D

    It'd help, it really would. Rarely do n00bs asking about a Pokemon game get out of that one forum. So it'd be hard for them to make 20 posts.
    But then Q&F would be like an everything forum. You'll have everything from "How do I make a Trainer Card?", to "How do I find Latios on Ruby?", to "How come come I can only see 2 forums?", to "What is a Moderator?" and everything in between.

    JK: Q&F is my baby, I'd die if it was filled with n00bs. XD
