Okay nthis is a debate topic were talking about in english. What are is your stand on Abortion? I say No because it is comminting muder on a sole.

I actually created this thread back in June. Basically, yeah, I think it should be legal, as I don't regard a potential life as important as that of an already-developed life, and I don't consider a crappy life to be better than no life at all.

I think it should be legal. Think of all the young pregnant teenage girls who, because of state law, are unable to abort their potential kids. They can't take care of kids when they've got school, work (depending on age), sports, or whatever else they have. Even though it was their boyfriend's dumb choice not to wear protection or her dumb choice to allow him to not wear protection or whatever, it's too big of a punishment (not to say that babies aren't a vomiting, crapping bundle of joy).

And as Allstories said, aborting potential life isn't the same as killing an already developed baby.

Well I think that abortion should be legal, because I've always had the whole "It's a woman's body, thus her choice" kind of mentality. Yes, a man was a part of the procreative act, but it's still the woman who has to go through the pregnancy.

Well, all people have a right to do anything to their own bodies. However, the fetus, or unborn baby, is a seperate individual. Even though it lives inside its mother, it is a separate entity genetically. Its DNA is its own, and differs from its mother's DNA. Therefore, the argument in favor of abortion on demand, or abortion for convenience sake, that a woman has a right to do as she wishes to her own body, is not relevant to the question of abortion, since the mother's body is different from that of her baby, or fetus. Regarding abortion for medical reasons where the mother's life is in risk, that decision should be left to herself, the family, and doctor. It's true, the mother and the unborn baby are still two separate individuals, but under these difficult conditions, it's truly a personal choice for those who are directly involved. Regardless of the decision, one life will be lost and one will be saved. This situation differs from abortion on demand, which is to kill the unborn baby for convenience, as opposed to choosing which life will be saved.

Well off course it should be illegal, Abortion means wasting another soul that god(s)(for foreingers convinience) sent down. It can just be put up for adoption. Or we can try Clone THEN abort.

If they are going to abort the child, why clone it? Just wondering.

you still made a mistake. What about people who don't believe in a god or gods at all?

Anywho, it should be legal under any cicrumstance imo. Shirosaki was right with the fact that it is a seperate body with it's own DNA and whatnot; however, bacteria can be born and live in a human body, I believe that they have their own DNA as well. So no difference there.

And yes, we've had this debate before. IMO, under any circum stance abortions should be legal. However, if the mother/family continually speek out against abortion, then clearly the should not be allowed to have one; for obvious reasons.

seeing how cloning isn't really...exsistent, i think its out of the question. And the unborn baby, or if you want to get scientifical, fetus, is a living soul, with its own heart and...some body parts. It breathes and eats in the "womb" and it is living. It is muder and its wrong.

This ahs been brought up in the last thread on this we had.

Everytime a person masterbates (Sorry if you staff don't like that term being said on here, but its necessary for this debate) they're killing off life. So what exactly would your point be? I mean, by your thoughts, everyone in the world has killed off an infinite amount of living organisms, from masterbation alone.

I guess, but I look at it this way. Say the baby has a condition that cripples it. (Say oh, missing limbs, extra chromozomes, things of that nature) If the baby is better off not being born, then there really isn't a reason for it to suffer is there? In my opinion, aborion is fine as long as there is a good legitimate reason to knock off the baby...

I think it should be. As other people have said before, better no life then a life where the child may have to go through teasing, bullying, poverty (I think that's the word?), etc. Or it could be born with missing limbs or mental diseases, etc.

I really hope you guys get what I'm saying, cuz I'm not.

Plus, what if the mother was raped, instead of foolishly committing the act without protection?

I'm not looking to get into a debate either, si I'll just say what I need to, and GTFO >_>

I really have mixed feeling on this topic; I think it's totally disguisting when someone just has unprotected sex on impulse, not being ready for what could become of it, and decides to have an abortion; That's just disguisting to me. In most cases, I wouldn't agree with it, as there are just so many other options.

On the other side, I think that under certain cases of incest, or rape where it isn't the woman's fault, that an abortion would be acceptable; why should a woman have to bear the thought that he child came from the seed of someone that abused her that way?

Either way, I think there should definetly be a time limit in which they will perform an abortion. When a human embryo is devolopted in its mother's womb, with its vital organs, I belive that it truely is murder.

I'm not really sure to be honest.

I dont think it should legalized because its not fair to the baby. It should be given a chance to live its life the way it was meant to live. I mean even if the mother couldnt keep it, there are still other options like adoption. D:

I think it should be legal. The only factor people use against it is religion, and I really don't think religion should be encorporated into these kinds of situations. Still, the baby has it's rights too, but what if the girl was raped? I think it should be the mother's choice, although, if the mother doesn't want it, why not put the baby up for adoption? Give it a chance for a good life.

I believe abortion should be legal.

If it is not legal, that will not stop people from getting abortions. They will simply have to go to illegal clinics or do it themselves. Then not only will they be breaking the law, but they're risking their own lives in a grungy old clinic in the bad part of town so they don't have to go through a pregnancy.

Anyway, on a basic level, I think abortions should be allowed for those who truly don't want the baby and did not choose to conceive one. For example, victims of rape. But those who are stupid enough to have unprotected sex? That's your own fault; deal with the consequences. Sadly, this doesn't work because there's no way to check for this. Everyone would just claim rape and go on their merry way. (Bad choice of words, ahahaha.)

Anyway. Long story short, I'm for legal abortions.

I'm for it, although I accidentally pressed "no"...

it's their choice whether they want to have the child, and people make mistakes. The child shouldn't have to suffer their life for their parent's mistake.

I'm not going to get too deep into this conversation, because it's basically going to come down to morality...but I will pose this question:
at what point does it go from a potential life form to a living creature? is there a certain amount of days? a certain stage of development?
