If legendary pokemon had genders, what would they be? Here's how it appears to me
    Moltres; male
    Articuno; male
    Zapdos; female
    Mew; female
    Mewtwo; male
    Lugia; female
    HoOh; female
    Entei; female
    Suicune; female
    Raiko; female
    Celebi; male
    Rayquaza; male
    Kyogre; male
    Groudon; female
    Regi group; male
    Deoxys; male
    Jirachi; male
    Arceus; female
    Dialga; female
    Giratina; female
    Palkia; male
    Shaymin; female
    Lake gaurdian group; male
    Reshiram; female
    Zekrom; female
    Kyurem; male
    Keldeo; male
Swords of justice; female? Maybe with the exeption of Terrakion.
    Victini; male
    Yveltal; female
    Xerneas; male
    Zygarde; male
    Diancie: female
    Hoopa; male
    Volcanion; female
    Cosmog; male
    Cosmoen; male
    Lunala; male
    Solgaleo; female
    Magerna; female
I didn't include the ones who have genders like Latios and latias. What are your opinions? Answer if you agree with me on these or what you would change.

Dunno if you assigned genders randomly or something but some of your views on it are a bit off, in my opinion at least. Like the lake guards, Mesprit would be an obvious female to me. Also Solgaleo seems to be based off of a lion, and females dont have huge manes. In the swords of justice I only see Virizion as a female. And thats it I guess, would agree with the other ones.

    well for myself i see

articuno, zapdos, moltres, mew, suicune, ho-oh, celebi, regice, latias, mespirit, cresselia, phione, manaphy, shaymin, virizion, reshiram, meloetta, diancie, hoopa, tapu fini, magearna, and lunala as female. i know manaphy is the "prince of the sea" but I always saw it as feminine

the rest of the legendaries i see as male except i consider arceus neither

  • I don't have any specific opinions about their genders, but I know that despite the fact they're considered legendary, many of those Pokemon have been shown on more than once occasion, and they're clearly not the same ones seen before. The first example I can think of is Lugia from the anime, where the one in the second movie was seemingly male, and then we saw a mother Lugia and her baby a little down the line.

I'd like to think that many of these Pokemon actually are dual-gendered, but they're just so incredibly rare that not enough research has been done to classify them.

  • I'm not forming opinions either, however the celebi in EoT/D/S
is referenced as a her in the Italian translation and Jirachi is
referenced as a him. If I'm not mistaken, other legendaries are
also referenced as chaps or chapettes... however, that might be
just a thing that came with the translation...

Speaking of "legendaries' gender", there were three episodes
of the anime involving a child lugia and their parent, respectively
"The mistery is history", "A parent trapped!" and "A promise is a promise".

I find genders to be pointless in legendaries. They do not breed. Manaphy is exception but it is genderless.
