I was viewing a RP in the RP Corner, called The Pokemon Odyssey 2, and in it there was a word called Argos.

The word Argos had a hyperlink, and when I clicked it, it redirected me to a shopping website. First, I questioned the thread creator himself, because I saw the link only in his post. I thought he had added the link as a joke, but later he told me that he hadn't put any link in his post.

Also, I saw the link in the posts of about 2 or 3 more people. Each time I would see the link in random places where the word 'Argos' was.

Actually, I don't know whether to classify this as a problem, or a question. Usually in the RP section, when links like this are added, it is often to show a map, or a picture of what the thread creator is trying to show.

So, I would like to ask, is something like this actually allowed? I mean, advertising shopping sites like this in posts? I don't think the creators of the posts had actually added the link, because I had seen a similar thing like this on another post (I can't remember the name of the site) where when I hovered over the link, it said "Shopping Link added by ------.com"

What style are you using, I remember some showing hyperlinks on them that aren't from PC. Styles such as 'The Top Dog' don't have them.
EDIT: I looked at the thread and there were none for me, I suggest maybe trying a new style like 'The Top Dog'. Iicr there is a way to get rid of them though.

I saw it in Stand Nexus, and another Theme whose name I forget :( But I definitely saw it in Stand Nexus.

I'm pretty sure those are advertisements that are normally on PC. Are they in the normal URL colour? Or is it a funny underline?

Don't know if this will help, but just to point it out, Argos is pretty popular in the UK.

    Exactly. The website is Argos.co.uk

They are in normal URL color. If they are normal, then its okay. I just wanted to know.

The color should depend on the theme. I think they're blue in Generation InVerse, which has green links. But also, Generation InVerse is the exception to everything.

Here is a screenshot. The link is like the normal hyperlinks we have in PC. If you look at the bottom you can see the website's name too.

It's supposed to open up a small white info box when mouseovered, I think.
Is that how your links normally look? lol 'Cause that looks terribad.

You can disable those if you hover over them and select to hide them, I'm pretty sure.

Of course I was also pretty sure they only appeared for guests but it's been so long since I've seen them or been reminded they exist, maybe not. D:

That's not an advertisement or a link. It's just bold colored text.

I opened it in an incognito window so it has all the default settings, and as you can see, there is no link. For some reason, in the incognito window, it's just bold and black. Either way, it's not a link, or hover-over.

    Spoiler:

Here is a direct link to the post so you can see it was not edited.

And I quoted the post, there is no code besides bold tags around it.

Aren't shopping links different for every viewer or something?
