Age Limit on members

Why can you brand 13 year olds as "Spammers" or "n00bs" and you can't do it for members that is like 15, 16, 17 and older?

I mean I have seen members 13 and under go by the rules better then some of the older members (I might add that someone posted in this thread that is over the age of 13 but has broken rules, and had posts deleted because of flaming, I won't point him out but I'll just say he he dosen't like people under 13 on PC).

We have had Mods under 13 and they made good Mods.
There isn't an age limit on the members and if it was up to me then there wouldn't be.

Age doesn't necessarily reflect upon how you behave, although many will stereotype. Don't judge people who're younger, cuz they may appear maturer than you think.
 
Take Lily for example, when she was 12, she was one of the most mature posters I knew...yes a tad hyper (XP) but I really thought she was something like 15 or 16 by the mature posts.

Anyways, I think I have done my fair share of ranting in this thread. Ill stop now XD I mean, some people thought I was younger than what I was because of my very bad spelling (It's gotten better now mind you) but It was horrible, I had mature posts, but not the spelling to back it up. Thats not classified as SPAM.
 
My mature point of view:
That is in-doutably the worst suggestion I have ever heard! The number of years a person has lived on this planet has nothing to do with how much they, if you like: "SPAM" or how mature they are!

My less mature point of veiw:
OMG, crap idea dude! Iv been a pokemon fan for as long as I can remember :P
If I tried to join PC a year ago and got rejected because of my age I could have cried! Think how u would feel! I tink I made ma point :D

I know what you mean. If one day I said I was really 12 (no don't think I'm 12 XD) then everyone wouldn't look at it as right because for some reason lots of people dosen't like Staff that is 13 and under. I've seen members in their late teens and they were worse spammers then some of our younger members.
I'm not saying the younger members are better or the older members are better. But no one should look at a person's age and think they don't know anything just because they are 13 or under.
 
I'm under 13 years of age, and I'm a mod. o.o Does that mean I shouldnt be here, nyah~? o.o No, it doesnt. As a matter of fact, as a lot of people have already said, kids who are under that age, are usually more mature than kids of older age groups. And besides, younger children do make the forums a happier place~! =D

It would be to late to do this anyways, because a lot of the members here are under 13 years of age. >D That means we would have to kick out a lot of people.

Thats all I have to say because everything I wanted to say has already been said.

A think an age limit is just a waste of time. If there was an age limit, there will be less members and u got to remember that it dosnt matter how old u are, u can still spam!!!

I havnt seen much spam rounds PC so there isnt really much point in making an age limit!!!

You people amaze me. I understand about the age thing, and how maturity+age=nothing...

Seriously people, I was just stating my opinion and my reasons. Am I not entitled to an opinion? I also have no regrets in posting my opinion.

Please also, point out when I said things about younger members being noobs? (That's a very stupid word BTW...). All I did was post my opinion, and I feel that it was valid. In essence, I was perturbed by the fact of these younger, immature kids running around and senselessly posting away on the forums.

My interests are for this board to be fun, and friendly. If it is to be so, then people need to reinforce the rules...;)

If I remember correctly, it is normally the older that spam because they find Pokemon immature, where as in fact they are the ones that are immature (Not refering to all of course, XD) I have seen verry horrible threads of Pokemon haters of around 18-21 post with immature language that shouldnt be used at forums which children visit and insult everyonee that goes there because of the fact they like Pokemon.

EDIT: We are stating our oppinions too XP and we can understand you were only suggesting and that, so no worries, yeah?
 
AbareMax- of course you're entitled to your own opinion. ^_^; Be aware that many members are under 13 however, and will most likely defend their rights to stay on the forums.

Stri- was I hyper? Really? I had no idea. :O

There are *some* forums who enforce the 13+ rule. I've tried joining it, but couldn't due to my age, so I contacted the owner. He let me join due to the fact I wasn't (thankfully) typing in 1337 or acting really immature. Those forums, however, tend to have more mature and adult like discussions.

PC is just a friendly message board, so no need to have that rule apply here also. =]
 
As most people said bad idea and I do agree. It's not like everyone under the age of 13 is a spammer of a noob. Seriously I?m under 13 and I follow the rules and also I don't act like a noob. Look people shouldn't be judged by age they should be judged by their personality and posts.
 
Well, take the T-Dome for example. Originally, you were required to be 13 or older to gain access, but people realised that one doesn't have to be 13 in order to be mature, so they allowed all ages.
 
Well forgive me. Being an Italian Pok?mon fan, I guess means I'm not subject to most of the American/English speaking cultural ideals. I don't live in an English speaking country...obviously :D Simply put, I'm not used to the age thing...

So let's put all of this aside, and just continue being Pok?mon fans...together

T-dome is entirely your choice to stay there, if you feel you can handle the mature discussions. Although quite frankly, I rarely go there. XD

I don't think its a good idea either, it's too many Pok?mon-fans under 13.
 
wow an age limit on a Pokemon board? no way.. Pokemon belongs to all ages.. we'll never limit anyone joining PC based on age.. although legally, those under 13 need a parents permission to sign up, but we don't enforce that due to our stong moderation and attentive staff.

the idea of an age limit, 13 lets say, to join is just silly considering our target age group is oh about 6 - 14 range.. (based on current Pokemon demographics)

asking for it is also somewhat insulting to current younger members as well.... why not set a can't join unless you are 18 age or 21.. or pass a marturity test .. or even better, send your first born to the admins as price of addmission.
 
I don't think it would work out too well.....
I only turned 13, 28 days ago. I don't spam and I'm not a n00b. But I know what you mean by there being way too many n00bs. But a 16 year old could be just as n00by as a nine year old. It really matters how you act. And even if you did make an age restriction kids would lie, jut to get on the boards. It wouldn't help. Not a bit. And Pokemon is meant for kids seven and up, so I don't see why they shouldn't join if they love Pokemon.

I remember when I was 12 alot of forums had that rule that I tried to sign up for, and I didn't like it at all. This board should be meant for kids for all ages. I think it should stay that way as well.
