My name is Julian. I live in The Netherlands and I'm 18 years old.
I've been playing pokémon probably since I was like 15 years old. Ofcourse, I started with the cards way back and I must've been like 5 - 7 years old.

Didn't you love the thrill of opening a new pack and saw a shiny pokémon :) !

Anyways, I'm playing 4th gen now (Pearl/Platinum/Soulsilver) and it's quite entertaining. I never had the chance to trade through the GTS because I didn't know how WEP worked. I fixed that in seconds and here I am, fully able to trade!

Hey there, Julian! The Netherlands, huh? That sounds like a cool place to live. :>

Name's Cid, and I'm a year younger than you apparently. :P But yeah, welcome to PC! :D You've come to the right place because this place has some cool discussions for Fourth Gen that you might want to visit often as you play (I only recently beat HeartGold and I loved it, too), as well as a neat little Trade Corner that you can use for your recently fixed GTS! That's just a hint of what PC has of course! For instance, we're also up to date with the current generation of games, and you might want to try those out, too, if you can get a copy of Black and White or their respective sequels. Plus we have sections for all sorts of media that Pokémon trancends, be it the anime, manga or TCG. Maybe that last one will get some nostalgia going, who knows? And what better way to find out than to check it out yourself. :D

I recall being into collecting the trading cards way back, too. B) I've never played a single game of TCG, but I can relate with the thrill of opening a new pack, because I used to buy them with my measly savings. You're pretty lucky though, I don't remember ever seeing a shiny Pokémon in my cards. ;O

So yeah! I really like your positive attitude, and I'm sure you'll be having lots of fun during your stay. Just don't be afraid to ask for help if you need anything. Contrary to popular belief, staff here are as friendly as the rest of the community. Oh and stick to the rules, and stay as active as possible, alright? See you around! :D

Welcome to PC! I'm Lucian. I have been playing Pokemon since Red, Blue and Yellow and like yourself was into Pokemon Cards, however I never really knew how to play the game XD I went to one tournament and got my butt handed to me. I remember when I always went to my friends card shop, he told me that the heaviest pack always contained a Holographic so I knew I was getting the good packs. So you're relatively new to the games if you've been playing since you were 15? What was your first game? And ahh, the cards bring back so many memories! I actually have most of my cards still stored away in a box somewhere. Opening a shiny was so great though, but I never did get to experience getting an awesome shiny Charizard way back then, hehe. xD; Do you still play the trading card game? If you're into the 4th generation right now, you should drop by the 4th Gen Games section of the site to discuss those games with the members here. There are lots of interesting topics being posted over there and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. ^^

Wonderful that you can trade, too! Stop by the Trade Corner if you're looking to make some trades and you'll be on your way to filling your Pokedex in no time. Just make sure to give its rules a read, as well as the general forum rules, if you haven't yet. They're simple and easy to follow. Maybe sometime soon I'll finally get a working router and create a wireless connection to trade, since relying on this Nintendo WiFi connector isn't very fun. D: But yeah, we have many other things here besides those two sections we linked you to, so go ahead and explore! You'll definitely find a lot of areas you're interested in here.

Hello Julian, and welcome to PC.

You've been playing since the age of 15? Guess you started pretty late with the games, like me (Ruby was my first game, I was 11 at the time) so I guess we're similar in a way. I enjoyed the 4th Generation a lot, especially Platinum and HG/SS. I do like 5th Generation better though, you should play Black & White and Black 2 & White 2 sometime, they are really great games.

Cirno already directed you to Fourth Generation Games and the Trade Corner since it also appears you have an interest in trading. Glad you decided to join since we have loads of people you can talk to, and some may even lend you a hand if you need help.
