Alola look so small compare to other region.
It feels like a rural area then a region.
Is there any achievment on becoming champion of this region ?

FYI : Alola confirm to have a champion.
    Spoiler:

It may appear to be smaller than previous regions, but you've got to consider the fact that Alola is split into four separate islands. Each island appears to have a variety of different towns and explorable areas to discover, just like any other region.

However , It still feel like a rural area like Orange Island.
So , The Champion feel like a "Local Town Champion" rather then someone who's on same position as a E4 and Regional champion.
Basically , Orange League champion = Alola Champion.

I would love to see more intimidating Island Captains/Kahunas than the ones that were shown so far.

Like Angie said earlier, we don't know much about the Island Trials system and how it works, let alone how the Elite Four and Champion are supposed to be set up. It's something we'll have to wait for when more info about Island Trials are revealed.

Lusamine is the champion and she is evil in the plot~~~ ^^

Well my personal humble opinion is that Malva from Kalos is an elite four member and works for Team Flare, and we can't do anything to her because she only shares her secret with us (no witnesses). Thus, gym leader (Giovanni) and elite four (Malva) has been on the bad side, so let's make it Champion the bad guy this time ^^

    * it probably will never happen... :c *cries in corner*

    I like Raxic's idea there.

Considering we had Giovanni for a villainous Gym Leader and Malva for a villainous Elite Four member, it would be nice to step up to have a villain as Champion. However, I'd imagine it won't happen since the Champion is meant to mostly appear as a mentor figure who you encounter a few times before their Champion battle.

Yep, it's a shame. but Champion has the power to change the Region itself (at least he/she is the strongest trainer in the region, much like politics in real life), people respect the Champion for that. You know, for a person with that much of a power gone corrupted wouldn't be too farfetch'd for me. Of course a Champion could be encounter a few times and he/she acts nice to you and all, but once you know they are evil, it's up to you to end his/her misery, then you'll be the true champion.

Something along the lines of "This world need to change, and I have the power to do so, if you think you can stop me, you can try!" ----- Well, this is basically Lysandre but with a given Champion status LOL

It's the Rotom-Dex. It becomes Champion using all the knowledge the player gives it about various Pokémon throughout their journey.

I dunno, I like the idea of Lusamine being the true villain but unless she literally "gets away," she's gonna be apprehended before the end of the game. I can't imagine you discover she's evil, then defeat her, forcing her into hiding... and then she goes to wherever the Champion always is. Anybody who defeated all the Trial Captains could just find her there, that's not smart!

So to me, she's either the true villain or the Champion (or... neither... I guess that's an option, too).

Unless there are more NPCs they've yet to show us, or they just don't want to show us the Champion ahead of time this time around, maybe we'll have another throwback to gen 1 in the form of Hau working his way up to Champion before the player does and he acts as the final boss?

That actually reminds me, would the fifth island count towards the island trails? I mean, it's not the same as the other islands and only really exists to host the Aether Paradise, so I don't think so, I don't think it even has a guardian Pokemon.

Or the idea of the final important battle is like most RPG games: an actual boss fight, the Supreme Overlord Ultra Beast!! And then maybe a post-credit battle with Hau, 'for good ol' times sake' and then post-game they should have someone like Red. Oh wow that would be great. :o

I wouldn't think so. Since it is inhabited by the Aether Foundation, I can't imagine any sort of island challenge system being in place on the artificial island.

    Pokemon Champion Theories

I want to see that Champion, is Kuikui because think about how cool it would be, him having a sun/moon evovled rockruff depending on the version you buy. And think about what his team could be, one of the only trainers to actually do the EVs and IVs and could just be hard no matter what.

His Team, based on pokemon we already have, including newly released Passiman, Oranguru, and Lycanroc both midday and midnight formes.

    His Team

Lycanroc (Any forme because of the game forme thing)
    Passiman/Oranguru (Game time thng again)
    Salandit
    Exxecugtor
    Wishwashi
    Mudsdale

This is Chemist Wooper, signing off!

edit: speaking of, does anyone else have an idea of who can possibly be the champion of this region?
Hard to say. Thanks to Sina and Dexio we know that XY takes place before Sun and Moon, meaning that the backpacker's comment on their Champion is also before Sun and Moon, so we can probably rule out Hau or Gladion becoming Champion. Probably some other character we'll see in the game.

I'm really surprised nobody seems to think it's Hau. Having your rival be the Champion is a huge throwback to gen 1 and maybe it would mean that despite his unfortunate choice in starter he could actually prove to be a challenge throughout the game.

Unless we start seeing other NPCs in the upcoming news videos, I'm going to assume it's him or an NPC we won't see pre-game launch (or Lusamine if she's not the bad guy... but I hope she's the bad guy).

EDIT: clbgolden's post ninja'd me... That's an interesting point. But maybe there's a possibility we'll get a scenario like BW where there's already a Champion but Hau defeats them before the player gets there? If not, well, one less gen 1 reference is fine by me!

Well to this point Hau or Lusamine or Kukui, either is fine as a Champion for me, because I don't want another Diantha :/ sorry Diantha, you're elegant and all but for a champion to not involve in the major plot is very upsetting, and I don't care about your movie star status (XY anime she did appeared, kudos to anime department LOL)

p/s: I guess Iris did the same stuff too, meh... :/

I actually did like the concept of Diantha and the fact that she did more than just being a champion. I also liked her design ALOT. But you're right on the passive party, she barely took any part in game plot
