3rd Gen altering cave and the space center discussion

is there a point to these places? I know for a fact that I saw a latter appear in altering cave in a place I could not get to once. And do the rocket counts mean anything?

Rocket counts don't do anything. Altering Cave has Pokemon in it when you activate it by using a Wonder Spot at a Nintendo Event, so you can't get it to work anymore.

I'll leave this open for discussion though. I'm sick of locking threads in this section. Gunna edit the title a little bit so people know that.

Yeah, there's no real use for Altering Cave now the events have all moved on.

However, I personally like it as I always forget about it, and it has Kanto Fr/Lg music in it. That and the shock I got when I played LeafGreen and actually explored the Sevii Islands properly, only to find that Altering Cave first appeared there :D

The Space Centre's (Yeah, I'm correcting that spelling :P ) cool too, particularly in Emerald, where you get a double battle against Team Magma alongside Steven - especially as in Gen III you can read your partner's pokémon's summaries. Swampert and Steven's Skarmory make a brilliant combination, believe me :D
It also adds a little more depth to the game, and as Hoenn's tropical, and therefore nearer to the equator, it makes sense for there to be a space centre, as shuttles etc. are always launched as near to the equator as possible, in order to escape the Earth's gravity more easily.

The Space Centre is cool but does nothing. Don't bother with the Deoxys rumours none are true. The count is just how many weeks you have had your save file for.

It's a shame about Altering Cave. You could get some rare Pokemon there... If only R/S/E had Wi-fi...

Because using the word Latter in that context makes no sense.

The Space Center in Mossdeep City didn't really provide much significance except getting a Sun Stone and (in Emerald) defeating Team Magma there before the Kyogre vs. Groudon fight.

I thought that the altering cave was activated by mystery gift? Hmm... Guess I'm wrong. The ladder sounds interesting. Maybe I should spend more time in there with the endless hordes of Zubats 0_0

It may have been a bad connection. I've gotten glitch tiles in my ruby and emerald (not my flash cart though :|), and it may have ben one of those.

It's rumored that the Altering Cave was to be activated by a Nintendo event of some sort, but I haven't found any evidence of it ever happening. I'm pretty sure that there's an action replay code out there that could enable it, but I never bothered using it because I already got the Pokemon from other games.

The altering cave would have random johto pokemon in it if you were in an event, back in 2006, I would spend hours on end wandering around altering cave trying to find one of those pokemon, I was an idiot back then.

I remember when I use to believe that rumor that it had to be a certain number and when that number comes, you can go to the spaceship and either get Jirachi or Deoxys. Whoever made that rumor sure is smart
