Am I the only one who was disapointed with the OVA? I mean really 5th Dan was still fat. Angel was still the "evil angel" and all that other crap. plus TK wasn't epic enough!

I've been questioning that since the second I finished the latest episode, and... All I can say is I don't know.
Most likely would be either that the afterworld has a different timeline than the real world... Or that it's just the result of a really rushed plot, filled with holes.

It's definitely not a mistranslation.

I'd say it's a plot hole caused by a rushed script writer.
Though again, it could be explained by the afterlife having a different timeline.

They could of, but I think everyone else was so wrapped up in the anime of "Who's Kanade?" or "What's going to happen next?" kind of thing, they don't think so deep in to the story line. So, they forget.. ;~;

and it's confusing now, but maybe they will clear things up soon.
