Why would you want that to happen? And I just thought, why did Red get Ash's Kanto personality in Pokespe? It would've been better if he got his "..." game personality, that would've been amazing. I'm reading FRLG arc at the moment and can't help but notice it seems a more mature version of Kanto Ash (rather than "mature"/personalitylessness Sinnoh Ash)

Whoa, you cannot compare Red with Ash. Red is not obsessed with Pokemon (not that much, or his Pikachu) but mostly on battling and winning. Sure he is dense, but not as severe as Ash's. As you know, he does blush and stuff when girls talk about the you-know-whats. I loved Red in the FRLG arc. He was so mature, and why? Because he got OLDER. That's the main point. The anime is ageless, but everyone else ages in the manga.

There's no denying that Red's personality is at least based on Kanto Ash's, though. Some things I just really notice, like how Red just trusted that old lady without thinking, that seemed so innocent, gullible Ash. And this seems like goofy Kanto Ash. That bottom panel is adorable, btw, I'm starting to like this pairing.

All the girls like the ship? Really? I know many on other forums that don't like it either. For some reason its the second popular ship in Japan, Pearlshipping is more popular though. I guess the reason I don't like it is cuz they rarley interacted and the scenes Ikarishippers think are Ikarishipping hints is every one's imagination. Last scene, they were talking about Ash the entire time, so really it was more Comashippping than any thing LOL. But I guess to Ikarishippers they are just happy to see them interact in any scene.

Nice clip you took out. I loved that scene. You can feel what personalities they were going for, from older anime. Why is that goofy? How can you compare that to what Ash would say? He's nowhere as close as Red is. Same to say with Gary and Green (though, I like the more serious Green than the earlier d**k KantoGary was).

Shippingshippingshipping I'm talking about it, see? I hope out new mod is a merciful one. But seriously. Dawn and Paul only look good together because either a) Paul isn't Ash or b) Paul isn't Ash. Meaning this: Anti-pearlshippers are looking to pair her with anyone else to prove she won't end up with Ash, but Pearlshippers probably want to see some reason for Ash to be jealous. And DawnXPaul is like the equivalent of an innocent schoolgirl running off with a biker. It could happen, but it won't last, so you're just waiting for the innocent boy to jump in and rescue her. So I can see why this ship appeals, but it's on the more crack side of things. Personally, I'm still Twinleaf.

Haha, when I first watched the abridged, I hadn't watched much of Yugioh either, so I eventually decided to watch it last year. It helps you to understand the jokes but the card games kill you >_>

Thinking about it, I'm surprised Little Koriboh hasn't made a joke about the amount of times Pot of Greed was explained. >_>

Because you're one of the crazy Pokespe fans who thinks you're going to get some sort of disease by comparing the anime to the manga -_- There are some non-crazy fans...Netto agreed with me when I said Red and Ash shared personality traits. Rash, confident, the hero, helping out no matter what, unable to understand or get girls, loyal, typically good natured and friendly to everyone, sometimes too trusting etc etc. Even if Red is more mature, he still seems like a more mature version of Kanto Ash. It's much more noticeable in the RGB arc, though, when he was acting all cocky.

Once I picked up the pokemon manga and I was shocked at how...um...mature the "Dawn" character looked. And Cynthia. Are these things for kids? I suspect at any rate that there would be more shipping in a manga aimed at an older audience-- is that the case? Because it sounds like that's not really so, at least not any more canon than the anime.
