    Yes like the one in rapidshare;
    [PokeCommunity.com] Annoying captchas.

and the Pokemon Community's captcha is a bit annoying too.

Can you go through them or end up having sore eyes? Make it as challenge.

I hate them. Whenever I see them, I get frustrated and curse randomly.

aww letters with a lil kitty now if all captchas were like that my internet experience would be more enjoyable

captchas are fun when they involve cats like the example in the op and when they provide funny word combinations but they can get p annoying if they pop up for every menial task (i.e. uploading pictures via tinypic what is up with that)

I mean, what's the worse a bot gonna do if you don't have a captcha there? Seriously.
You have a point. At least make the captchas more readable.

I don't mind them for registration and stuff, but I really hate having to enter some random words when uploading a picture with tinypic, as the others above me has said. I mean, what's the worse a bot gonna do if you don't have a captcha there? Seriously.
I'll tell you what harm a bot could:

Consider a scenario where you have a "Contact Me" form which emails to you. If your website gets, say 10,000 visitors, out of which 1,000 use the form, around 300 of these would send you hate mails or flames or some crap like that or are 7 year olds and don't know what the website is about.
Now let's bring the bots into the picture, we leave 4 bots on your page, each sends you 180 different spam mails, 180 * 4 = 720.

So 1,020 out of 10,720 may seem like only 1 / 10th, but when you have to go through all that mail, then you know how irritating it can be.

I just type it in, get it over with; avoid paying too much attention and hurting my eyes since I'll probably get it wrong first and second times anyway...
If it's particularly asinine I may well not even bother, come back when I've nothing better to do.

Not fun when you realise you have to pick out the cats from the dogs, and that the captcha image on-site is only a quarter of the size in the OP's post.

I don't mind it, but I don't get why they have to make it so confusing.

Placed like 4chan and TinyPic even have random symbols and different language captchas, which are ridiculous. :/ But I just his the "refresh" button and get one that I can actually enter, haha.

Honestly I don't mind captchas, but they get annoying if they appear repeatedly, for pointless things like browsing the site. This happened to me today on Youtube, as I was using Tor to break past the packet shapers they use here.

At least make the captchas more readable.

They are like that because they have bots that can recognize letters and numbers because of the arrangement of pixels in an image, much like facial recognition software can recognize the eyes in a face. And by facial recognition software, I mean the ones that recognize a human face in a picture, not the ones that recognize similarities between two pictures, though I'm sure that works in very similar ways.

But yes, they are freakin' annoying. >_<

Especially the ones that had skewed letters and numbers, with ridiculous amounts of lines through them. Or the worst one was this one that had me fill out a bunch of personal info and credit card information, that was annoying. :o

fun fact: for two-worded captchas, only one of those words are known by the computer. the other one is a mystery.

in fact, i usually play a game. i see if i can determine which word the computer doesn't know and type garbage
