Raydin held the Pokeball containing his newly captured friend in his fist. He looked down at Ignus, who was now laying down flat on his belly. He was panting slightly, and his eyes were shut. Raydin smiled slightly before he held out Ignus's pokeball. "Ya' did good buddy. you did good. Ignus, return." A beam of red light erupted from the end of the pokeball and it engulfed Ignus. The beam of light snapped back to the sphere, much like a rubber band. Raydin paused a moment before pulling out his other poke ball. "Scourge, come out."

The Golden dog appeared in front of Raydin in a flash of light. Its breathing was shallow, it still had injuries from the previous battle and it was looking at Raydin with an evil glare in its eyes. It tried to make a move for him, but it yelped and collapsed on the floor.

Raydin bit his lip and looked around, until he saw what he was looking for. "Stay here scourge, i'll be right back." The pokemon glared at him again, and lay down on the ground, unable to move. Raydin ran up to the nearest tree, and he began to climb. Raydin reached a crook in the tree. He reached up with his right hand and he shook a branch above him. Several blue sphere shaped objects fell from above. Raydin grinned and dropped to the ground.

He gathered the Oran berries in his arms and he handed them to Scourge, who began chewing them vigorously. Raydin began petting Scourge's fur, who flinched every time the human touched his fur. After Scourge had eaten two Oran berries he stood up, and walked a distance from Raydin before he plopped down again. Raydin picked up the remaining berries and he pulled what was left from Scourge's mouth, which earned him a venemous glare. Raydin hopped up, and motioned to scourge. "If you want any more of this berry than you'd better walk with me." The dog glared at him again before he stood up, and began following Raydin.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4 ½ hours Later
Raydin sighed as he continued walking. This was slow work, they had been walking for at least four hours and they had made no visible progress. He had seen many more Zigzagoons, and just as many Starlys. The only progress he had made was with Scourge. The poochyena had warmed up to him, if only slightly. He was now walking right by Raydin's side, and he even grinned slightly when Raydin petted his fur. But now was not the time to stop, and Scourge knew that. Raydin had not brought a tent or camping supplies. They picked up the pace as the sky grew steadily darker.
When Raydin had walked 30 yards, he saw someone in the distance. Raydin ran faster, and Scourge had to struggle to keep up. Raydin reached the person and skidded to a stop.
The person was wearing a bright orange hoody that seemed much too big for them. They also had on a pair of teal jeans, which reminded Raydin of something even though he couldn't quite place his finger on it. He shrugged, and looked back at the person. "So, who are you?" The person shrugged and pointed in the direction that Raydin was already going in. Raydin looked quickly, and when he looked back, the person was walking away in the opposite direction. "Umm bye?" Raydin shook his head and kept walking, and within minutes he found himself staring at the lights that signified where he needed to be. Viridian City. He wondered vaguely if he was the last one here. Raydin placed Scourge in his pokeball and he walked in to the city.
Raydin sighed. How the heck had he gotten lost? At the moment he was in an alleyway, and he had no idea how he got in said alleyway. Sighing again, Raydin threw out Scourge's pokeball. He leaned down to the golden puppy and said, "If you can get me out into the town square I'll give you an Oran berry."
Scourge hopped a few times before he sniffed the air experimentally. Hoping that he had a scent, Raydin began to follow Scourge slowly. Raydin facepalmed when he saw where Scourge led him. A bakery. Raydin sighed yet again. "Well at least his nose works." Raydin trudged on dismally for another hour until he decided to take a break. He leaned up against the alley wall, and he sat down feeling the cold roughness of the asphalt seep into his pants. He Shivered for a brief moment, covered his eyes and before he knew it, he was asleep.
About forty minutes later, Raydin was awakened by the sound of someone walking in a pair of high heels. Instantly he was alert, sitting up to address this newcomer. But then he was huddled up again, in disbelief about how cold it was. He did manage to get a glimpse of the person though. It was a She, as in a woman. She was wearing a skintight shirt in the color orange with a teal long sleeve shirt underneath, neither of which covered her stomach. She was wearing skinny jeans and she had on a black pair of high-heeled shoes. She had on a pair of fingerless gloves, orange on one pair and –of course- teal on the other. She had straight black hair pulled into a pony tail with two hair ties in different colors. Her face seemed normal enough. It seemed to radiate a feeling of strictness or uptightness. She looked to be about 23 or 24. In her arms she held a bundle of clothing. She tossed it to him. "Stay warm kid."
Raydin started to thank her, but she waved her hand and smiled, right before she began walking away. Raydin quickly pulled on the clothes she gave him-an orange hoody and teal pants- and he stood up. He had a distinct feeling of Deja' vu, but he shrugged it off and continued walking, determined to find the pokemon center.
When he finally did find it, he rushed inside and obtained a free room. He handed his pokeballs to nurse Joy, and he told her he would come to pick them up come morning. Raydin ran to the room, pulled himself under the covers and fell asleep.
I'm confused! Which one am I?
You can have Sandshrew now since the person who had Sandshrew dropped out. On other news, you can start off on the Viridian City post instead of coming all the way up. You can fill in the cracks of how you got there through flashbacks or conversion.
OOC: I'm sorry I can't contribute more often but german school system is hell and until Christmas I have hours and hours of schoolwork each day. Oh ya, I added a few items to his inventory for a couple ideas I have for future posts. (I added sme chemicals and a peacemaker) And I made tank spit water. I know he doesn't have watergun, so I'm just assuming he can still spit water even if it's not an effective weapon. EDIT: Omg, the formatting is horrible! It looked fine in OO.... Sorry :(
And while I'm OOC: For all that haven't noticed, my character is rated M FOR MATURE (Inofficially), that means if you are offended by harsh cursing, violence or complete bad*ssnes, skip my post or you will be offended. My Dad's from an irish family and I can easily outcurse any sailor, my character mirrors this trait. The following includes: Sarcasm, atheism, cursing, bad*ssnes, violence and descriptions of the character pwning other people and being pwned himself(Mostly by gravity)YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. (I do 1337 curses though) If a mod or kyuu disaproves I will change of course, would be a shame though.
IC: "Ok, let's see. I have no idea were I am, Professor Oak sent me on a weird mission, an evil tyrant has taken control of my home, my best friends are either imprisoned or dead, I am the last hope of a country spanning rebel organisation, I have a godd*mn 4 inches flesh wound, I am low on provisions, I'm unarmed and to round up the whole thing: I AM HANGING FROM A GODD*MN TREE!"
Yes, Connor was hanging from a tree. Why you ask? Well, that is sort of a funny story, not for Connor really. Connor had been in many tricky situations but this tops it all. How was he supposed to accomplish all this? Were his buddies expecting him to just pop up one day with a liberation army? Their was no one else. Most people here didn't even know they bordered his home. In one word: Connor was seriously f*cked. So, Connor leaves Oak's lab, Connor gets lost, Connor tries to get a better look, Connor gets stuck upside down in a tree. He felt blood rushing into his head. He had to get out somehow or he would probably fall unconscious. His jeans, some might say rags, were neatly strung between what seemed fifty million branches and he was face to face with a large branch, 20 feet off the ground.
"Yep, I'm suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure f*cked.", he said again. He didn't dare move because he could snap the branches he was hanging from and fall to the ground, hard. He looked around again. He sighed.
"I am such an idiot. I mean seriously, who the heck would EVER, I mean EVER manage to get into a situation like this? Their is no god", Connor sighed. He sometimes talked to himself when no one was around and he was in a especially bad situation. Slowly he saw the sun set and he couldn't really feel his legs anymore.
"Ok, either I at least try to get lose or I'll probably start growing branches too.", he murmered under his breath as he started to swing a little. He slowly gained more and more force as he tried to reach the next sturdy branch. The branches creaked precariously and Connor felt his weight shifting. He swung again. He felt needles of the pine digging into his legs and the branches bending. One last time. Grabbing the trunk he propelled himself towards the next branch and got a hold!
"Phew, that was easier than expectat. Oh god, I'm going to die now", he said looking down. He had too somehow extract his legs and still stay up. He breathed a long breath. One chance, only one chance to not get all bones in his body broken. Then with a tug, he pulled his legs from the branches and scrambled for support. He touched the branch below but slipped. His legs pulled down with a huge power and ripped right at his wound.
"AAAARRGGHH. F*ck, sh*t, moth*f*cking, son of a b*tch arh!", is all he could blutter out before he lost his grip. He desperately tried to grap something but felt himself falling, well sort of. It was more of a 'Short trip through a meatgrinder', as he later would put it. Sharp branches and needles poked, stabed and cut him from all sides and he landed on larger branches a few times, knocking the air from his lungs. Until, *THUD*.
"......Cr*p."
Connor slowly got up. He looked over his body to see that the wounds, and pain, concentrated on his unprotected legs, his leather jacket protected his upper body from who knows what harm. He gave it a affectionate brush. This thing must have saved his life so many times.
"I need some leather pants. Actually, skip that idea, gay. Ripped jeans are metal.", he told himself wiping of dirt. He found his back pack nearby.
"Ah, for christ's sake! The molotov broke!", he groaned in dismay as he looked at his alcohol covered back pack. He fished out his lighters, knife, a few, luckily air-proof secured, chemical samples, his old peacemaker and then grabed the last smoke-grenade. He picked it up carefully, hearing an omnious 'clink'. To his horror the security pin fell out, arming the grenade. He yelped in panic as he jumped away in a unsteady attempt to flee. Quickly thick, white smoke started leaking from his backpak. To his misfortune, the chemical reaction responsible for the smoke also creates heat, not much, not even enough to ignite wood, but maybe alcohol. Before he could even move his pack went alight in an impresive light show. Mostly he would kind of enjoy this, he liked things exploding, but he was in the middle of a dry forest. He scrambled around feebely trying to think of what to do, just as he felt a strange weight on his belt. He looked over to remember ak's little present.
"O.k., well. Open!", he commanded and in a flash of light, Tank appeared jumping around, making further for Connor unintelligible words,
"So, you're a water? Can you like at least control the flames?", Connor asked desparetely.
"Squirt?", Tank anwsered.
"Yes! The fire over their! Just spit water or something", Connor said again. Strangely, the creature seemed to understand him and started spewing gouts of water into the flames. They continued to burn heavily as Connor started scooping earth onto the Inferno.
Viridian City - 1st post
About ten minutes later, Josephine woke up to learn Amaya wasn't in the room. Checking the end of her bed, she was grateful that Riley and Juri were still sleeping there. Easing her legs out from underneath the blanket-covered sheets, she made sure she hadn't disturbed Riley. Assured that she hadn't, she quietly crept into the bathroom, quickly had a shower and leisurely dried herself, putting on her new clothes for today.
I guess I should call home, she thought purposefully as she returned her two partners to their respective spheres after exiting the bathroom. Grabbing her backpack, she made her way to the foyer. Inputting the number of her mother's Pokédex, she waited as it dialled and then rang. Mere seconds later, the face of the nearly ten-year-old Natalie, her younger sister, appeared on the screen.
"Hey, Jose!" Natalie exclaimed. "Mum and Dad weren't expecting you to call so soon. What happened?"
The older redhead laughed. "Nothing's happened. Where are Mum and Dad? And why did you answer Mum's Pokédex?"
"Mum is at Saffron, putting some finishing touches on a new device she's created. Dad's at the memorial cemetery, putting some fresh flowers down on Tara's grave," the younger Harris answered.
"What?! You're at home by yourself?!"
Natalie rolled her eyes. "No, silly. Dad's Pokémon are here, looking after me."
Josephine breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh, that's okay then. I have the feeling there's something you want to tell me, so go on."
"The very day you reach Cerulean City, I'm gonna turn ten. And since the Sinnoh region is being rebuilt, Mum and Dad have agreed to send me over there for my journey." Narrowing her eyes and looking closer at the screen, Josephine could see her younger sister was clearly elated at the fact she was becoming a trainer, by the unmistakable jumping up and down in one spot trait that both girls shared.
The fourteen-year-old thought back to the news she had heard that day.
Sunyshore wasn't the only city affected by the freak-of-nature weather. Not one township or city was left untouched. Canalave had been completely flooded and it was reported that no-one had been spared. Twinleaf had succumbed to an earthquake, Sandgem was a ghost town, Pastoria was as though a drought had been in effect for a year, and even Snowpoint was struck hard. A passing meteor had practically obliterated the seventh city.
Natalie looked off to her left. "You'll be getting a visitor as well, so be prepared."
"Okay, thanks for the talk, Nat. Bye." Josephine terminated the call. Stretching, the teen realized that she hadn't even had breakfast yet. Wandering over to one of the city's local shops, she went in, bought herself a chocolate flavoured drink and paid for it at the counter. Exiting again, she headed towards the Viridian Forest, where she suspected she might meet Amaya.
*****
A couple of minutes later, she encountered Amaya finishing a conversation with her Dratini and then focusing back on her drawing. "Hey Amaya," Josephine began. But before she could get anywhere close to continuing the conversation, a voice called out from behind her.
She was a slender being and her long pink hair was done up in a ponytail which cascaded onto small shoulders. The young woman was dressed in a cherry blouse and a long cerise skirt, with her elegance increased tenfold by the flowing effect of her garments. Her hands were as white as a ghost's and her lips formed a smile when she spoke again.
"It's Josephine, isn't it?" she questioned.
Looking surprised, Josephine glanced at Amaya, who shrugged, and back at the stunningly beautiful woman. "Uh, yeah... my name's Josephine. Why do you want to know?"
"It matters not," the woman responded and the air around her shimmered as she started to blur. Ahead of the two girls even blinking, the woman had disappeared. Josephine shivered, before turning to her companion.
"Today is getting weird," she stated the obvious.
"Tell me about it," Amaya replied. "A similar sort of thing happened to me not that long ago, only it was a twelve-year-old boy short light green hair."
"I guess we should start heading back to Viridian; Mike and Aaron will be wondering where we are," Josephine responded.
(OOC: If you want me to start in Pallet Town, then I will edit this, since this is under the impression that I am allowed to begin in Viridian City.)
Chapter 1: Viridian City: The First Town!
Chris looked down at the city, with a smile on his face. He had just arrived, and was happy that he could finally start his own journey. "Heh, this is going to be fun! I heard that there's a Gym here! I think I'll go check it out!" Chris grinned, showing his teeth before running in.
So it's him.
Chris stopped and looked around, confused. "Hello?" After a minute of no response, Chris shrugged and ran off towards the gym, eager to earn his first badge. "Heh, this is going to be so awesome!" Exclaimed Chris as he turned towards the gym, and tripped on his feet, sending him into the wall next to the door. "Oww... That... hurt."
Chris stepped back from the wall and was about to walk into the door, but it was locked. He looked at the sign, and it displayed 'CLOSED' in big bold letters. "Oh, you have to be kidding me!" Chris sighed as he walked away, his head down. He immedately perked back up. "Oh, that's right. There's another pokemon gym around here, in Pewter City. It's a little late now, so I'll have to find a place to stay."
(?)
"Hmm..." Said a man as he walked around the town of Viridian. "This will be... my lucky day." The man pulled out a poster, and on the poster was the picture of a pokemon, Mesprit. "Heh, I'll find it soon, and I will get rich! Just you wait, little sprite."
(Chris)
Chris smiled as he walked into the Pokemon Center, ready to get his room for the night.
It looks like something's here, coming after me.
"What was that?" Asked Chris, looking around. He saw nothing. "Man, I need to lay off those energy bars. Oh well, it's not as weird as those dreams I had of my Pokemon Trip." He turned to Nurse Joy to ask for a room, when all of a sudden a man walked in. He was tall, at about 6'4" tall, with somewhat tan skin. He is wearing a tan button-up shirt with tan pants, and a cowboy hat. His boots were black, as well as his gloves. His hair was fairly short, and a light brown, and his eyes are a dark blue. He was carrying a piece of paper.
"May I help you?" Asked Nurse Joy as the man walked up to the counter. The man smiled.
"I am Clause, and I am questioning people for the whereabouts of this pokemon. I heard that it was in the area, and I always wanted to see it." Said Clause, opening up the paper, showing a photo of Mesprit.
"I'm sorry, but I haven't seen the pokemon around." Said Nurse Joy. "Maybe you should ask a trainer that has gone that way recently?"
"... Well that is unfortunate." Said the man. "May I have a room, please?" Nurse Joy held out her hand, and the man gave her his pokedex.
"Enjoy your stay, Clause." Said Nurse Joy. The man smiled as he took the key. He walked towards the stairs and looked at Chris for a second.
'Hmm, something's odd about that kid.' Thought Clause, but he shrugged it off and walked up the stairs to his room.
"I would like to rent a room." Said Chris. Nurse Joy held out her hand and Chris pulled out a pokedex. "Heh, here you go." Nurse Joy took the pokedex, accessed the info, and gave it, and a key to Chris. "Thanks."
(OOC: I hope this is okay. I'm going to be revealing portions of how Chris got his pokemon and pokedex throughout various posts, if that is okay.)
Zimvee - Jeez, Sophie was a bit brutal, wasn't she? Still, it was a reasonable post.
pikakip - Excellent post, mate. I wasn't expecting the appearance of that woman.
nokyo-chan - SS is right, Eliminator Jr. dropped out, meaning the Sandshrew is yours.
Faeldrake - Yeah, the post is acceptable by my standards, but Alter Ego mightn't approve. We'll have to wait and see.
Myself - Here, I'm only gonna say my post was awesome.
Zeta Dimentio - Viridian is perfectly fine, Zeta.
Entry 1A Viridian Stranger
Liana pulled her backpack off her shoulder and plopped it into a plastic seat inside the Viridian City PokéCenter, quickly sitting in the one next to it. Aleigha clambered up beside her.
<It's difficult going for so long now, isn't it?>
"Yes," Liana replied, scraping her hair back from her forehead. "It's…so weird. For six years I sat at home, and now it's like I'm too weak to do anything." She looked up at the white tiled ceiling, trying to tune out the sounds of the bustling Center around her. First-time Trainers swarmed the place, and she felt sad that she couldn't join the happiness around her. She had spent six years reading everything about Pokémon she could get her hands on, wishing, hoping, even praying…Liana closed her eyes, wishing she was stronger.
Aleigha gently reached out and touched her claw to Liana's hand; she started and looked down at her Pokémon, smiling. Already she had grown attached to her. <I suggest we get something to eat,> Aleigha said, shuffling to her feet. It was funny to have a small, cute creature talk the way she did—she was so sophisticated.
"Okay," Liana replied. She stood up. "Wanna be carried?"
Aleigha hesitated, looking up at Liana's open arms. <No…I'm fine. I'll walk.>
"If you insist." They left the Center and Liana breathed in the fresh sunlit air once again. Viridian Forest was going to be terrible; she had glanced into it before deciding to tackle it later. The sunlight barely pierced through the thick canopy, but the dappled designs it created on the forest floor shifted and moved, making her feel as though the shadows were alive. She shuddered thinking about it. She felt as though darkness was something she needed to avoid.
The only restaurant Liana found that she could afford was crowded; it took forever to get her food, and even longer to find a seat. She was losing daylight quickly—she'd have to spend the night in the Center tonight. Aleigha sat on her lap as she huddled into a corner and ate the sandwich she had ordered. "Liking your PokéFood?"
<Yes. Thank you.>
The sun began to set as Liana finished her food. Worried that she wouldn't make it to the Center before dark, Liana stuffed the rest of her sandwich in her mouth and balled up the wrapper. Aleigha, a slow eater, was barely halfway done, so Liana swept her food into its bag and stuffed it in the backpack.
<I wasn't done!> Aleigha protested as Liana got to her feet, pulling Aleigha up into her arms.
"I know, but I want to make it back to the PokéCenter before night falls." Liana shuffled her way between tables and made her way to the glass door. It slid open before her and she rushed outside. "I'll give it back to you at the Center, I promise."
<It's a long way back to the Pokémon Center. Maybe you should put me down,> Aleigha suggested as Liana set off in the direction of the Center. The path was worn, and it led between houses. She could see the Gym in the distance…the last Gym Trainers had to face. A smile split Liana's features as she gazed upon it in all its glory, the most remarkable thing about the town.
One of the houses she passed had a garden wall; she got a strange feeling as she walked by, as though she was being watched. She stopped, hugging Aleigha to her, and looked up at the wall apprehensively. Nothing seemed to be watching her at all. Writing it off as paranoia, Liana started off again.
But she caught a movement.
It was a small movement, one glimpsed out of the corner of her eye, but she hadn't imagined it; Liana whirled back to face the wall, heart hammering and already breathing heavily. The feeling of being watched didn't go away. Something was behind that wall, watching her. What was it?
Carefully, Liana set Aleigha down and headed around the corner of the house, one hand against the tall brick wall. She tried to quiet her footsteps but couldn't stop them from making a small amount of noise on the grass.
<This is trespassing. What is your problem?>
"Sh!"
She walked around the front of the house to the other side; when she rounded the corner, a face loomed out of the gathering darkness at the top of the wall. Liana shrieked and stumbled backwards; Aleigha leapt in front of her.
"Calm down," said a calm voice. It was a boy sitting atop the wall. Quickly he leapt down, landing in front of Liana and tugging back the hood of his coat.
He was fantastically taller than she. White shaggy bangs hung down over his right eye, obscuring it completely, and his skin was pale. His visible eye was quite shocking—he appeared to have no pupil, and his iris was white, but a brilliant robin's-egg blue surrounded it. He wore a long coat that ended in tattered strips of gauzy material that seemed to shift around his legs in a nonexistent breeze, and the same material hung from the backs of his shoulders, extending farther than his black-gloved hands. The collar of his coat was red, with red spike-like things jutting up from it and ending somewhere near his jaw—his hood hung halfway down his back and stirred in the same breeze the rest of his coat did. What he was wearing beneath the coat, Liana couldn't tell; it was closed over his skinny body.
"You do not flee," he said softly, taking a step toward her. He appeared to be a few years older than her, at least. His voice was deeper than a seventeen-year-old's.
"Wh-who are you?"
He smiled; it seemed a bit sinister. "You may call me Nyrebus. You will soon find out who I am…but it is late. You are weak." He headed toward her and slowly began to circle her, eyes on her the whole time. She looked up at him, staring at that one blue eye. "If I were to tell you now…that just wouldn't do…you who rejected me for so long…"
"I've never even met you!" Liana cried. "What are you talking about?"
"In time," he said, stopping abruptly. He was beside her, looking up at the night sky. "In time, you will see…but I must go now…the time has come for things to sleep, and I cannot be here for that. The moon," he said, gesturing up towards the sky. "It doesn't show its face. I must return…sleep well, little one." He turned to her and smiled that strangely sinister smile again. "And sweetest dreams."
With that, he slowly faded away. Liana blinked, looking around. She reached out and waved her hand where he had just been, but there was no evidence that he had been there at all.
Shuddering, Liana scooped up a shocked Aleigha and took off toward the PokéCenter at full tilt.
Chapter 2: Leaving Viridian City!
A girl is walking around outside. She is, about 5'3" tall with somewhat-short pink hair, going down to her shoulders. Her eyes are red, and her skin is pale, as if she hadn't gotten much sunlight. She is also somewhat scrawny, fragile. She is wearing a white shirt with a black vest over it, and a gray skirt that goes down to her knees. She is also wearing a bandanna over her forehead.
'I hope that I can find him before that man can get me again. I need his help until I can heal.' Thought the girl as she walked down the streets of Viridian, looking for the Pokemon Center. She was so lost in thought, she didn't notice someone was walking towards her until she hit the person.
"Oof, oh, I'm sorry." Said the girl. The man smiled, it was Clause.
"Oh, that's okay." Said Clause. "By the way, have you seen this pokemon?" He unrolled the paper to show Mesprit. "I heard it was in this area, and I've always wanted to see it in person."
'He's lying.' Thought the girl, but she began to speak, to hopefully drive the man away.
"I'm sorry, but I haven't seen it around." The man sighed.
"Maybe my network is wrong, no one seems to have seen it." Said Clause, thinking out loud. "Well, let me know if you see it." The girl nodded and Clause walked away.
'That was close.' Thought the girl, but Clause was thinking differently.
'Heh, I think I found it.' Clause smirked as he moved to pull something off of his belt, but froze. 'No, there's too many people. It's too risky... I'll have to wait until we're alone.' Clause scratched his leg and then walked away.
'I have to find him, now!' Thought the girl as she began to run.
(Chris)
Chris stretched as the door to the Pokemon Center shut behind him. "That was nice." Said Chris to himself as he looked towards the exit of the town. "Now, to start my journey, and become a pokemon master!" Chris then began to run towards the path out of Viridian. "This is what I've been waiting for! Look out, here comes the nest pokemon ma-AAAH!" Chris yelled as he slammed into a girl, the same one that encountered Clause earlier.
"Oh, I'm sorry." Said the girl as she got up. "Are you okay?"
"Y-yeah." Said Chris as he got up. "Listen, I'm sorry, I was running a little too fast. My name's Chris, what's yours?"
"... My name is not important right now." Said the girl. "Just know that I was looking for you." Chris looked at the girl and backed up a little.
"Okay, that's kind of creepy." Said Chris. The girl sighed.
"I need help, to get to Viridian Forest." Said the girl. "Someone is after me, and I need to get there, so can you help me?"
"Umm... sure?" Asked Chris. The girl smiled.
"Thank you." Said the girl. 'You don't even know how important this is to everything, do you? But as long as you can get the job done.'
"By the way, what's your name?" Asked Chris. The girl looked at him and replied with...
"Melissa."
(Clause)
Clause smiled as he looked at the two. "So close. I can just imagine the money I'll get with that beast." Said Clause as he slowly began to follow them.
(OOC: Well, I hope this is okay. Mesprit won't be in a fight, don't worry about it.)
Raydin was dreaming. It wasn't a pleasant dream, and it wasn't a bad dream. It made absolutely no sense to him. He was standing in a solid white room. Somehow he could sense that there were others standing on his right and left sides. His head would not turn however, so he was forced to look at the people directly in front of him.
There were quite a few of them, and all though they all looked completely different, they all exuded a sort of... pressure. Each one was unique, the one from the little boy felt like nature. The one from the guy in black seemed evil-no not quite evil, just extremely dark. Raydin looked over all of them once more. There was a girl wearing pink, the small boy in green, the guy in black, a group of two- siblings most likely-and finally, the woman that gave him the clothes in the alleyway. She glanced at him briefly before looking forward once more.
In front of all of the people was a tall standing figure dressed in light. Raydin couldn't make out any details other than the fact that this person was human…Raydin tried to make out any facial features, but he had to stop because the light had negative effects on his eyes.
The figure flashed brightly which forced Raydin to look away. He closed his eyes and he saw images flash on the back of them. Space. Cold, dark, and lonely. A meteorite, hurtling through the empty darkness. Earth, slowly turning. The meteor shoots down towards the base of the earth's axis. It hurtles through the atmosphere, leaving a trail of fire in its wake. The large rock got closer and closer to the ground, until it hit the solid ice. A cloud of white exploded in all directions, obscuring everything. The images began looping, and Raydin opened his eyes. The Figure in white began talking.
But not in any language that Raydin knew of. It sounded Japenese, mixed with many other languages. Every once in a while he heard one or two words in English. Destiny. Fate. Power. Speed. The last thing he heard was, "Apocalyptic Dawn. Find your fate Raydin…..Find your Partner." The light flashed and the whole room filled with a blinding light. Raydin covered his face with his hands and everything went black.
Raydin yawned and stretched in bed a few times. He rolled to his side and opened his eyes…And was greeted by someone else's. "GAAAH!" Raydin exclaimed as he rolled over and fell out of the bed on to the hard grey pokemon center floor. Raydin sat there for a minute before he stood up and looked at the intruder.
She was lying down in the bed, examining her nails. It was the woman from before, the one who had given Raydin the clothes. Raydin looked down, he was still wearing them. Raydin sighed before he looked back at her. "Who are you? How did you break into my locked room?"
A faint smile appeared on her face, but it was replaced by a look of boredom. "One question at a time kid. First off, you left your door unlocked. Second, you can call me Dahlia for the moment."
Raydin's eyebrow rose significantly. "Don't call me kid. My name's Raydin. What do you mean for the moment?"
Dahlia smiled. "That doesn't matter at the moment. I'll tell you when the time comes Raydin. For now we need to get going. Oh, here's your stuff by the way." Dahlia threw a large pack at Raydin before tossing him the Pokeballs containing Ignus and Scourge. Raydin caught them deftly and placed them on his trainer's belt.
He stared at her and smirked. "So where are we going, Dahlia?"
Dahlia grinned and hopped off the bed. "Let's go!
Raydin leaned against the wall and yawned. He was now standing outside of a clothing store, patiently waiting for Dahlia to finish. The last time he had checked it had been at least 1 hour since she had gone in there, and he was extremely bored. He sighed and pulled out his pokeball. "Go Scourge."
The small puppy sat in front of Raydin with its head cocked. Raydin smiled at him and sat down. He reached behind the dog's ears and began scratching his head. Scourge walked right next to Raydin and sat down, seemingly content. Raydin heard the door open next to him and he turned his head, still scratching Scourge.
Dahlia looked around for a few minutes before seeing Raydin to her left. "Raydin, something's happening! We need to go now!"
Raydin stood up quickly. "Wait,what-HUH?"
Dahlia shook her head. "No time, I'll tell you when we get there!"
Raydin returned Scourge and began to follow Dahlia through the ever crowded Viridian city. He shook his head as he wondered how he even got sucked into this. Dahlia paused. "Crap. Raydin look directly in front of me about 40 feet, and then look about 20 feet farther than that."
Raydin stopped and looked around. It took him a few moments but then he spotted what he was searching for. There was a man holding a sheet of paper, following a boy and a girl. Raydin gawked. "I, I know that girl! I saw her in the dream!"
Dahlia spun on him. "What dream?! Tell me Raydin!" She spoke angrily and sternly which caused Raydin to jump slightly.
"Uhm I-" Raydin sighed and began telling her about the dream. When he finished, She had her head in her hands.
"Sh*t Raydin!" Dahlia had her hand on her forehead. She sighed and her expression softened. "Well since this was going to happen sooner or later, I might as well tell-show you now." Dahlia pulled Raydin into an alleyway and placed her palm on his forehead. In Raydin's eyes, everything went black.
Raydin looked around him slowly. "What the-" Raydin was interrupted by Dahlia's voice, which now resounded through his mind
"Raydin, I now have to tell you my story. Everything that I have told you is a lie. The biggest lie…I am not human. I am the legendary pokemon known as Deoxys. I chose you, out of all of the humans in this world. I wish to bond with you. I shall warn you however that if you do choose to bond with me, and I sustain a fatal wound, then you will die. I do hope that you will do it regardless of the risks, as it will make us both stronger. Now, before I forget, I will show you the proof of this, my history."
Images flashed before Raydin's eyes, much like they did in his dream. Indeed, these were some of the same images from the dream as well. After the meteor hit, a pokemon came out. It reminded him of DNA in a way. The orange and Teal pokemon slowly emerged from the ice until it was actually walking around. The pokemon attracted the attention of a large green dragon-Rayquaza- Who attempted to hyper beam the new pokemon.
The new pokemon managed to escape the dragon and it lived in hiding. Eventually the other legendaries accepted the pokemon, and its true power was revealed. It could transform into 4 different forms; Speed, defense, attack and normal.
The last images were pictures of Deoxys in human form observing Raydin throughout different ages.
"Raydin, If you do choose to join me, when you exit this dream just say yes or no. You are to ask no questions until we manage to get somewhere private."
Raydin gasped loudly as he emerged from his dream state. He was leaning forward with his hands on his knees. To anyone that passed, it would look as if he had just run for 20 miles. He panted a few times until he stood up and stared at Dahlia. A few minutes later he nodded. "Fine, I will go with you, De-Dahlia. Now, what do we do?"
Dahlia smiled and pulled Raydin behind another corner, so they were not visible from the main road. She stared into his eyes, which began to glow teal in his right eye and orange in his left. His body was surrounded by a bright orange and teal aura, which seemed to be constantly shifting. Slowly the glow disappeared and Dahlia sighed. "Whew, that drained me. Okay, we need to follow those other two, they may need our help."
The new duo walked in the direction of Viridian woods, eager to meet up with the others.
nokyo-chan - Absolute nonsense. It was an excellent first post. And may I add that your human-ized description of Darkrai was superb.
Zeta Dimentio - Clause is hunting Melissa/Mesprit, huh? Interesting. How will Chris protect her?
pikakip - Which girl was Raydin referring to, if I can ask? I'm curious, that's all. Other than that, a well-written lengthy post.
Viridian City: Post 1
"Together in one soul—wound tightly to each other, we live in unison to understand each other as though we were bound in flesh. Understanding everything and understanding nothing about each other makes us who we are within this world. Please understand, nothing means everything and everything means nothing. That is the bounds of understanding one another. Go forth comrades into the abyss of another person's unknown— Peter McCoy Wisdom X."
"What are you doing here," Isaiah's eyes squinted. Was it him? It was definitely was.
"Ah…you acting like you don't know me again," he rubbed his shoulder length blue hair vigorously. "You know who I am."
Definitely, he did know exactly who he is despite how well he was melted into the normal environment of Viridian City. No matter how well this man or pokemon rather disguised himself, Isaiah could see through every one of them like the translucent glass of a window. He could feel the amount of pure psychic power emitting from the man's power though to anyone else—he would just be a monstrously tall man. He gave a warm smile while rubbing his hand through the Isaiah's brown hair. Isaiah gave a rather annoyed expression before speaking.
"What are you doing here, Aero Dawnwing?" Isaiah repeated, folded his arms to show his point.
"Aren't you the hasty one," Aero waved his finger as he circled Isaiah. "Care for a cup of tea? On me…"
"Where are you getting this money from…?" Isaiah asked. "And why are you dressed like that." Aero's blue trench coat, white t-shirt, and pair of tattered jeans was the creator of that question.
"Don't be overly inquisitive and I'm not in to all this human fashion," he spoke putting air quotes over the word human. "We are having tea—well coffee in my case—at the Pokemon Center. COME!" Aero seized Isaiah's arms almost crushing it with power. Isaiah gave a visible contortion of pain forcing Aero to release the grip a bit. "Damn...this human body is a bit more powerful than I thought."
Isaiah gave a large sigh as he was being dragged by this rather gigantic man to the Pokemon Center in the middle of the town. Aero wasn't a bulky man by far yet his height well made up for that fact. His skin was a very pale color—almost a pure white at times—making him appear like the sun had never grazed it before. His shoulders were a bit broad while his arms appear a bit thinner, his hands were pretty large. In fact his arms reminded many people of wings. The length of his hair was about to his back holding this rather deep blue color to them. It was definitely Aero the Lugia—guardian of the Wisdoms. So why was he here?
They followed the grassy path to the Pokemon Center, much to the dismay of Isaiah who didn't want to get his pants wet from the dew. Yet this was out his control as the humanized pokemon dragged him with his power alone. If the people knew the "Majestic" Lugia was like this, they wouldn't call him majestic at all. He sighed heavily as he stared at his wrist being dragged on and on. After a while, they made it. Not without a slight red bruise around his wrist however. Aero smiled his apology, allowing Isaiah to enter into the Center first. Isaiah stared menacing from the corner of his eyes as he took the offer. Aero followed him in.
The two men walked within the barely cluttered Pokemon Center. It was just before night, so both of them had expected for this quaint solitude to be ruined. But since the silence was here, they weren't about to wait for it to be spoiled by noise. They began to speak on the matters at hand.
"Looks like Team Rocket have made their move…" Aero spoke as a blonde hair nurse placed the cups of tea and coffee on the table. "Thanks babe," Aero winked causing nurse's face turn red.
"No problem…" she choked before she scurried off. It could be seen that she was almost swooning.
"See you don't even know how to make it with the ladies. Come on, Isaiah. Stop being a stick….Peter was nothing like that. "
"You're the…" Isaiah stopped himself before anyone heard. "You know what you are. You should act….more….urgh…." the word wouldn't come. "More royalty like…" he came to a conclusion.
"Ah…heard before," he shrugged before pouring a large amount of creamer. "What were we discussing again?"
"Team Rocket…" Isaiah said seizing a single pack of sugar from the table.
"Ah, that's right," Aero said as he gulped down some coffee. He put some sugar within it the coffee.
"Is he trying to make syrup…?" Isaiah questioned to himself. "What about Team Rocket," Isaiah stressed as the legendary—in form about a thirty year old man—sipped his beverage.
"You rush conversations, slow down and enjoy life."
Isaiah personally did not like long drawn out conversions whilst Aero specialized in such. This trait of long conversation often led to Isaiah's annoyance thus the two of the bickered quite often. Unlike Aero, Isaiah didn't have two hundred years to just blow off aimlessly. He couldn't stress that enough to the pokemon. Yet he wouldn't to a single word the left it his mouth. He sighed.
"I'm here because I felt a tribulation within the area. Is that enough to say that I care about you?" he smirked. "No matter how much you are annoyed by me.
"Some of my associates have met Team Rocket in battle."
"Where's Ark?" Aero tipped his head, inserting another packet of sugar within the coffee.
"Surveying the area…in case another Team Rocket's member is nearby," Isaiah interlocked his fingers together.
"Of course they are going be around," Aero made that "duh" expression that Isaiah didn't like. He even made it in his original form. "Their base is here in Viridian City."
It would explain why they were on Route 1 and "surveying" the area. Why so close to Pallet Town? They were definitely putting themselves at risk of Professor Oak knew about this—without a doubt he did. So why wasn't something being done to destroy this team. These defilers of history and corrupters of the world were getting away with murder. Isaiah gritted his teeth while Aero just smiled, sipping his sugar ridden coffee before stroking his deep blue goatee.
"You know…" he mentioned. " You should really check that base out."
"With that amount of people…I wouldn't make it far."
"You haven't met your team mates yet?!?" Aero's face contorted in confusion.
"What the hell are you waiting for?"
"Aero, refrain from using vulgar words…" Isaiah frowned.
"Sorry, sorry…" Aero rubbed his head. "Is this really how a legendary should act…?" Isaiah wondered. "You should really meet the rest of them," Aero's voice became serious and wise. "It would be in your best interest…" he sipped his coffee.
"Okay…." Isaiah was stunned at the amount of pure genuineness in voice.
"Besides," it whipped quickly back to his goofy yet deep voice. "A certain legendary pokemon might get a partner."
"You don't mean."
"Go meet people…"Aero waved his hand. "You'll understand it when you see her."
Aero stood from his seat and subsequently gave Nurse Joy the money for the two drinks before stepping out. Isaiah finished the tea before following him out of the center. However, he was gone. He left a singular feather as a remembrance that he was here. "There is dark times ahead…prepare yourself, Wisdom."
Author's Note (OCC): Sorry I waited so long. It's a bit shorter than I initially thought and I didn't want to bore you with an immense amount of dialogue. Hope you like it.
Viridian City — 2nd post
"Damn it, Squirtle!" Josephine and Amaya heard an aggravated voice. "Hurry up and put the fire out!"
The duo rounded a hedge and saw a boy in his teens berating the Water type who was obviously his partner. Seeing Josephine and Amaya appear surprised Squirtle a bit and, in his shock, he successfully put the fire out.
"Who are you?" Josephine asked.
"I'd love to hang around," Amaya began, directing her comment to Josephine. "But I'll meet you back at Viridian. Is that okay?"
"That's fine," the redhead answered.
The boy looked up as Amaya walked away, heading for the city. "I'm Connor," he replied.
Meanwhile...
Superintendent Tyler, the head policewoman of Viridian, had pulled Clause up. "Why are you following two teenagers?" she asked in a firm, direct manner.
Volkner Electro, the former Sunyshore Gym Leader, stood beside her. He felt not only restless, but sensed a dark aura settling over the city. The former Leader had spiky, deep coloured blonde hair, sharp blue eyes, and fair skin. His face was clean cut, but still appeared to be rough and dangerous. Volkner's eyes always appeared to be calculating, as though he was thinking of war tactics as he walked. He was a well built man from his days in the military. But, the most defining feature was that broad frown that reached across the entire length of his face. Volkner's frown and his calculating eyes often lead people to wonder if he was a kind person or not. What could be answered was that he was Volkner Electro, formerly of the Sunyshore Gym and the cousin of Charles Ryder Harris — Josephine's father.
Because of his accident, Charles had had to retire from the life of a trainer, but he constantly dressed casually. Volkner, however, always wore a black, short-sleeved v-neck shirt. On top of it was his long-sleeved blue over-shirt with six yellow buttons, three on each arm. Long grey trousers covered his light brown shoes, which left people guessing what coloured socks he had on.
"Lock him up," Volkner spoke up. "It's because of the Rising Chosen that he's following those two."
"Are you sure?" the policewoman questioned.
"Do it." Volkner's voice hardened. "That girl is not whom she appears to be. She's not a pure-blood human. If you lock this idiot up, we'll be protecting the girl and any others that might be out there."
"If you insist," Tyler answered. She snapped her fingers and an escort of the Dog Squad's Houndoom appeared in no time.
(OOC: Since I need Clause for later, to be a recurring rival character, I'm going to have to do this. Sorry.)
Chapter 3: Clause: The Legend Hunter
Clause had been pulled up, by the police, much to his annoyance. They began to ask him questions, and didn't allow him any time to answer before Volkner told them to lock him up. "Heh, so you ask me questions, but don't let me answer? That's a riot." Said Clause as he looked at the Houndoom. "And what are you talking about, 'Rising Chosen'? I have never heard of that." Clause smiled and said. "I appreciate the effort, but I know I could beat your pathetic little hounds, and you don't scare me. Volkner might be a problem, but I would win."
"I work alone, and I only sell to the highest bidder." Said Clause. The police members were closing in slowly, in case Clause would attack. "You people are too paranoid, loosen up." Clause smiled as he threw down a flash bomb, blinding everyone but him. "Alakazam, Teleport us away from here!" And in another flash, the two were gone.
(Chris)
Chris sighed as he looked around. Apparently the path was only to a park, as the two were still in Viridian. Melissa looked around. "You okay?" Asked Chris. Melissa turned her head to face Chris.
"Yeah, I just have the strangest feeling that someone's following us." Said Melissa, before looking back at the path. "Not just one person, either, but many."
"Don't worry, Melissa, I'll help you out." Said Chris showing off a large smile. "Neither my brother or I can leave someone in trouble." Melissa just stared off into the distance, but focusing behind her, intent on finding who it was, but something was scrambling her senses.
"Be on your guard, there's someone out there, ready to attack." Said Melissa. She looked up, and saw the silhoutte of a man.
"And right you are!" Exclaimed the man as he threw down some sort of bomb. As it exploded, Melissa was unable to detect anything.
"What's going on!?" Questioned Melissa, but the man threw something at her, which expanded, and trapped her inside. "Wha!?"
"I hope you like it." Said the man as he walked out of the smoke. "It's an energy cage, it can hold pokemon much easier then a Pokeball can." The man smiled as he was finally visable, and it was Clause! He looked at Chris and laughed. "Now this is my lucky day! Both Mesprit, and the brother of the ex-champion! I'm going to get a lot of money off of this."
"Let me out!" Exclaimed Melissa, before turning to Chris. "Run, get help, please!"
"Trapinch, go!" Exclaimed Chris. Clause smirked as he saw the ant.
"That thing is too weak to even fight me." Said Clause as he pulled out one of his pokeballs. "This, right here, is my weakest pokemon, newly caught. You wouldn't be able to beat that."
"That's not true!" Exclaimed Chris. "Trapinch, use Bite on Clause!" Trapinch jumped up into the air, lunging at the legend hunter, but was smacked away by the man. "Trapinch!"
"Heh, Pokemon aren't dangerous until about Level 15." Said Clause as he walked over towards Chris. "Trapinch aren't that powerful, either."
"Neither are humans!" Exclaimed Melissa as she attempted to force the cage to open, to no avail. "Why are you doing this!?" Clause then began to laugh.
"Do you know how many people would like to own a Mesprit? As a trophy? To do with whatever they wanted?" Asked Clause. "If I find the right people, they'll pay a lot of money for you. Millions, even billions of Poke would be paid to me. I'd never have to work again! And the thing is, what I'm doing right now, is indeed legal."
"That's a lie!" Exclaimed Chris. "Take this!" He attempted to punch the legend hunter, but Clause caught the punch, and lifted Chris up into the air.
"No, it's true. As long as I'm not caught selling, the way I capture pokemon is legal." Said Clause. "Legend or no, it is still a pokemon, and it is but a mindless animal."
"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!?" Shrieked Melissa/Mesprit, pissed off at what Clause just said. But the hunter just waved back.
"They have no rights, so what I'm doing is not punishable by law. I'm not killing it, I'm not beating it, I'm just selling it like most people sell Poochyena or Skitty." Said Clause before punching Chris and tossing him to the side. "Now I'm taking my leave."
However, as Clause took a step, his ankle was grabbed by Chris, who was barely strong enough to hold him in place. "Heh, kid... you can't keep me here." Said Clause as he pulled his leg out of Chris' grip.
"T-Trapinch, Mud Shot!" Exclaimed Chris. Trapinch, who had just gotten up, began to take dirt into its mouth. Clause grabbed the handle of Melissa's cage, but was hit by a bunch of mud, knocking him down, and causing the cage to fall.
"Take that!" Exclaimed Melissa before trying, and failing once more to free herself from the cage.
"Grrr... that's not funny, boy." Said Clause as he straightened his hat. He was more annoyed then hurt from the attack.
"Trapinch, Bite!" Exclaimed Chris. Trapinch jumped at Clause once more, fangs ready to bite into the hunter. Clause tried to swat Trapinch away once more, but he missed, and the bug clamped down on his shoulder.
"Gah!" Exclaimed Clause. He pulled the ant off of him and threw it to the ground, but in the process, had the arm of his coat torn off. "You bastard! That coat was expensive!"
"Heh, serves you right." Said Chris. Clause snorted as he grabbed the cage.
"Chris!" Yelled Melissa, unable to break free from the cage. Clause smiled as he enlarged a pokeball.
"Dugtrio, dig us out of here!" Exclaimed Clause as he dropped the ball, but was tackled a moment later by both Chris and Trapinch, knocking him to the ground, dropping the cage, and accidentally hitting the 'release' button. "Oh ****." As the cage opened, Melissa was able to get out, and boy was she pissed. "Alakazam, Teleport!" He tossed down another pokeball, and almost immedately, he, Alakazam, and Dugtrio's pokeball were teleported away.
"No!" Exclaimed Melissa, seeing her captor disappear. "Grr... I'll get him back for that."
"Heh, told you I'd help you out." Said Chris on the ground. "Urgh, he punches pretty hard, but I don't think anything's broken." Chris then began to get up.
"Oh, I'm sorry." Said Melissa, but Chris shook his head.
"I said I'd help you get to Viridian Forest, so let's go." Said Chris before walking up to Trapinch. "You did good out there, we managed to get him to run away." Melissa rolled her eyes and began to walk away. "Where are you going?"
"Viridian Forest, you said you wanted to take me there, right?" Asked Melissa. Chris smiled before returning Trapinch.
"Heh, yeah. Let's go." Said Chris. Melissa turned to walk away, with Chris following behind.
(?)
Clause groaned as he walked into a tavern. "I can't believe that I lost to a kid." Muttered Clause to himself as he wandered over to the bartender. "Next time, I'm going to kill him."
(OOC: Like I said, I'm going to need him later as a sign of improvement. Right now he's supposed to be the 'invincible' opponent, but later on he'll be beaten by Chris alone, and he will get his Just Desserts when he loses fairly.)
"Goddammit.", Connor muttered under his breath as he saw two young girls running towards him. He instictively went for his Peacemaker but mentally slapped himself. They were just kids for christ's sake, he wasn't in a war, for now. He had hoped nobody would notice the flames and he could slip away undetected, the last thing he needed were authorities asking questions. Tank didn't seem to notice them at first but as they approached, he was startled so hard he gouted out a large stream of water that succesfully doused the flames.
"Who are you?", the first girl asked. Her most notable feature were her suprisingly red hair. Connor hadn't seen that in a while.
"I'd love to hang around," the second girl started, directing her comment to the red-head. "But I'll meet you back at Viridian. Is that okay?"
"That's fine," the first one answered.
'How can someone NOT care who I am?', Connor thought sarcasticly.
"Erm, well. I'm Connor. I had a little accident involving flaming materials, but luckily good ol' Tank here saved the day.", he said, petting Tank's head. He was getting to like this thing.
"But whatever. Who are you?"
Viridian City — 3rd post
"I'm Josephine and that was Amaya," the redhead answered. "Would you like to travel with us? If so, please follow me back to Viridian."
After saying that, Josephine took a few steps back towards the city, stopped and turned, waiting for Connor.
Back in Viridian...
Amaya had just caught the tail end of Clause escaping from Superintendent Tyler and Volkner, witnessing the haze go up from the Smoke Ball. She entered the Pokémon Centre and was immediately hailed by Nurse Joy. "Oh, hi there Amaya!" Joy exclaimed. "I have a present for your red-haired friend, it was from her parents. I'll think she'll like it very much. You'll give it to her, won't you?"
"I will," the Channeler's daughter replied.
"I also have a delivery for you," the nurse continued and handed her both Josephine's present and Amaya's own.
Amaya yearned to open the sphere, but decided to wait for Josephine. Speak of the devil, here she was now, complete with the Squirtle trainer.
"Josephine!"
The redhead heard Amaya's voice and turned towards her. Upon seeing and hearing that her parents had sent her a gift, she hurried over and eagerly snatched the ball from her travelling companion's hand. Both trainers released their Pokémon at the same time, with one being revealed as a female Gible, and the other a female Chimecho.
"Oh my god!" They shrieked in unison. "They're sooooooo cute!"
Connor, who was watching, seemed unimpressed. Instead, he hurried the two girls along, saying: "I wanna make it to Pewter before sundown, you two."
"Jeez, aren't you snarky?" Josephine retorted, still too much on a high about her new partner to be bothered about hurrying.
The two female trainers returned their Pokémon and set off out the door of the Centre, with Connor struggling to keep up. They left the city behind them and approached the grassy fields of Route 2...
For pikakip, who seems overly eager to be moving on...
Route 2:
Number of Posts: 2
Special Events
A trained Purugly gone wild has been here recently and has savaged a couple of Pokémon and an Egg.
winterfell
Amaya has the chance to save a level 5 male Riolu. Will she accept or decline?
Faeldrake
Throwing his bad attitude aside, hopefully, will the fate of an injured Houndour be enough to sway Connor?
Charzeon
Lastly, a Pokémon Egg lies here, with a few scratch marks from the Purugly's claws. Can Chase convince his mistress to take the Egg and look after it?
(Answer in OOC thread, please. Thank you).
Edit:
Sgt Shock - Good first Viridian post.
Myself - Since Faeldrake brought up Volkner, I will answer. Volkner was there, because he knew his cousin's daughter (i.e. his niece, Josephine) would come through the city.
Zeta - Interesting interaction between Chris and Clause, there, I must admit.
Faeldrake - Short post, but at least it's intriguing.
Myself (again) - Viridian's finished and Route 2 begins.
Clare continued to walk through Viridian City. She grumbled to herself as she remembered how she had gone to the Gym, only to find that the Leader wasn't there! It seemed like such a waste of time. Here Clare was, ready to take on the Gym Leader and get her first badge, only to find that she couldn't get it! It was so annoying to the girl!
Then there was that beautiful woman that kept entering Clare's mind like a coo-coo clock. Other then her obvious beauty, the trainer had no idea what made her keep thinking about the woman. There was just something about her that seemed...off. Like there was more to the woman then the girl could possibly guess. Then there was how she looked at Clare and how easy she talked to her, like the woman knew everything about the girl and they had been the best of friends for years now.
"Ugh, forget about it!" Clare growled to herself, shaking her head. "Just forget about it! Now is not the time to dwell on these things!"
"Meowth," Chase said, rubbing against his trainer again.
"Hey, you over there!" A voice called out from a bit away from Clare, making her turn. She soon found the owner of the voice, which seemed to be a small boy in just shorts and a t-shirt.
"Yeah, what do you want?" Clare asked with a grunt.
"A battle, what else?" The boy grunted back. "I challenge you to a battle."
"Yeah, I got that much," Clare said, then took out a Pokeball. "Just throw out your Pokemon and lets get this done and over with."
The boy growled slightly before taking out a Pokeball of his own. He then threw it up into the air and, in a flash of light, a Magikarp appeared. Clare sighed, realizing how easy this battle was going to be, and threw her own Pokeball up. Shinobi appeared in a flash of light and looked around herself.
"Alright, lets do this!" The boy said. "Magikarp, use Splash!"
"Karp!" The pathetic fish said, jumping up in the air and then back down. Of course, nothing happened.
Clare sighed again. "Shinobi, just use Zen Headbutt," the girl said.
"Absol," Shinobi said with a nod, then gathered some energy around her head. She then charged at the fish and slammed her head into it, knocking it back aways. When the Magikarp landed on the ground again, it had fainted.
The boy gritted his teeth together before returning the fish to it's ball, then taking out another Pokeball. "Alright...we're just getting warmed up here. Come out, Geodude!" He shouted as he threw the ball up and, in another flash of light, a Geodude appeared.
"Interesting," Clare said. "Shinobi, use Zen Headbutt again."
"Geodude, counter with Tackle!" The boy shouted.
Both Pokemon charged at eachother head first. They recoiled a bit after they each had hurt the other, but it was clear that the Geodude had taken the greater damage.
"Quick Shinobi, another Zen Headbutt!" Clare shouted.
"Ab!" Shinobi growled before once again hitting the Geodude with her head. This knocked the Rock Pokemon right out.
The boy growled some curses before returning the Geodude. Clare did the same with Shnobi, not wanting to get the weaker Pokemon too hurt. The boy then took out his last Pokeball and threw it up into the air. In yet another flash of light, a Hoppip appeared and started to bounce up and down on the ground.
"Chase, this is your fight," Clare said.
"Meowth!" Chase said happily before jumping in front of his trainer.
"Hoppip, use Tail Whip!" The boy shouted.
"Chase, Scratch it!" Clare shouted.
The Hoppip was the first to use its attack, moving its very small tail back and forth. This made Chase lower his guard, but he still ran at the Cottenweed Pokemon and scratched it.
"Quick, Hoppit, use Tackle!" The boy shouted.
"Hop!" The little Pokemon said, then slammed it's small body into the cat, actually doing some damage.
"Chase, counter with another Scratch!" Clare shouted back.
Chase nodded before running at the Hoppip and scratching at it once more. The Hoppip cried out in pain and cringed away from the cat. Chase took this time to use one more Scratch attack, making the Hoppit faint.
The boy shouted his curses as he returned his Pokemon to it's ball. He then angrily threw some money on the ground and stomped away. Clare just sighed before walking over and picking up the money. After doing so, she suddenly hear a clear, bell-like laugh and clapping.
Clare spun around and was shocked to see the beautiful woman sitting on a bench not too far from where the battle was. The woman had a smile on her face which only grew when she knew that Clare noticed her. Raising gracefully from the bench, the woman walked over to the girl.
"Very nicely done, Clare," the woman said. "I can tell that you are going to be a great trainer, despite your rough edges."
Clare could only stare at the stunning woman in response. She then shook her head, grumbled something under her breath and said, "Wh-who are you?"
"Just call me Sedna," the woman said, lightly placing a hand on Clare's shoulder. "It'll do for now."
Clare could only once again stare at the woman, now known as Sedan, as she walked away. The girl then shook her head and looked at Chase. "Come on," she muttered. "We need to get going."
"Meowth," Chase said, then followed his trainer as she walked onto the next Route.
-/-/-
"We're about 20ft into this route, and still we see nothing!" Clare cried out as she walked down Route 2. "Shouldn't we have seen something by now!?"
"Meowth," Chase said, shrugging his shoulders at his trainer.
"Why am I even asking you!?" Clare cried out. "It's not like you can answer me or anything like that! What is the point!?"
Chase grumbled a few things under his breath, then suddenly stopped. He looked to the bushes and seemed to narrow his eyes. He didn't pay attention as his trainer continued to rant about how stupid this Route was and how they should had probably staid in the city. He also didn't care that she continued to walking while he staid still. Chase just continued to stare into the bushes before finally jumping into them.
"And another thing," Clare continued to rant, looking down at Chase...only to see that he wasn't there any more. The girl blinked and started to look around herself worriedly. "Chase...Chase where are you!?"
"Meowth!" A voice called out from some bushes. Clare immediately ran over to those bushes and parted them. When she did, she found Chase standing over top an Egg with quite a few scratch marks on it.
"Meowth!" Chase said again and, very carefully, pushed the Egg towards his trainer.
"Oh no," Clare said quickly. "No, no, no! There is no way I'm taking care of an Egg! I mean, just look at it! I wouldn't doubt if the Pokemon that was in it is now dead!"
"Meowth, meow!" Chase hissed, actually picking the Egg up and walking towards his trainer with it.
"What is with you!?" Clare cried out. "Why do you care so much about a stupid Egg? I mean is it even alive?" When the cat nodded, the girl blinked and seemed to become softer. "Okay...so this thing is alive...and you really think we should take care of it?"
"Meowth," Chase said with a nod, then held the Egg out to his trainer.
"...You're not going to let this slide, are ya?" Clare asked, and when the cat shook his head, she sighed and took the Egg. "Fine, but for your sake this better hatch into a half decent Pokemon."
"Meowth!" Chase said happily as Clare put the Egg in her backpack, then starts to walk down to Route again. With his tail high, Chase followed after her.
Chapter 4
Chasing Power
Raydin gaped as he watched the battle between Clause and Christopher. It was pretty amazing how much damage one ant could do. He leaned back, wondering. The man had gone after that girl as if she were a pokemon…Raydin turned to Dahlia as she started to talk.
"Well, at least she can count on that kid to protect her. And yes Raydin, she is a pokemon."
Raydin blinked. "How did you know what I was thinking? Who is she?"
Dahlia smiled. "You sure ask a lot of questions don't you? Okay first off, I'm a psychic type so I read your thoughts. Second, she is called Mesprit. I would prefer not to go meet them yet, as I do not believe that they have 'bonded'. We will most likely meet up with the others later." Dahlia began walking towards route 2, and Raydin followed her.
"Wait, others? You mean there are more than just you and Mesprit? Wait, you mean the ones from the dream?"
Dahlia nodded. "Percisely Raydin. But we won't meet them for a while. Now, why don't you release one of you pokemon, we're coming up on route 2."
Raydin nodded and released scourge. The small dog sat in front of him and awaited orders. Raydin smiled and petted him on the head. "Come on scourge, we're on route 2 now. Let's go."
Scourge looked at Raydin, and thoughts pierced through his skull.
"Fine human, let's go. As long as you keep petting my head, I won't kill you."
Raydin faltered. "What the f**k? Did you just talk?" Raydin turned to Dahlia. "Did he just talk?" He grabbed her shirt. "What did you do?"
Dahlia glared at Raydin. A metallic overtone covered her voice. "How dare you boy! You would dare to touch me in a violent manner?" Dahlia's eyes glowed with ferocity and a large blast of psychic energy knocked Raydin to the floor.
Raydin stood up, and coughed up blood. He wiped his mouth and looked up at Dahlia, who had her eyes closed. She was breathing deeply and she was mouthing out the numbers one through ten. She opened her eyes and looked at Raydin. "Raydin, I must apologize for that, I have…anger problems. As for Scourge talking, I established a psychic link in your mind that will allow you to understand other pokemon. Why don't you test it out?"
Raydin nodded and looked at scourge. "What do you think of this Scourge?"
The puppy allowed its tongue to hang from its mouth. "I like her, she may end up killing you." His eyes narrowed. "Can we go now? Please?"
Raydin blinked twice. "Sure, But first…" Raydin smiled and held out his other pokeball. "Go, Ignus!"
The small puppy materialized in a flash of red light. It cocked its head and grinned. "Hi! Hihihi! Hi Raydin! How are you? What are we going to do now? Are we-"
Raydin put his hand up. "Woah Ignus, why are you so hyper? Calm down!"
Ignus nodded. "Sorry Raydin, I took a few of those Oran berries that you gave scourge and I hoarded them until this morning. I ate all of them, and now I have a sugar high! Hi Dahlia!"
Raydin shook his head and held out his pokeball "Ignus, calm down, I'll call you out later." Raydin watched the red beam of light wrap around Ignus and pull him into the depths of the red and white sphere. He turned around and looked at Scourge and Dahlia. "You two ready?"
They shrugged and walked in front of him. "Let's go."
Scourge yawned as he continued walking. This whole thing was stupid. He was only in it for the head rubs and the free food. The second this novelty ended, he would destroy the human, and the growlithe. First he needed to regain his strength. The dog paused and spun around, something was behind them. Even though he wanted to kill them, he wanted to fight even more. "Ooooh Raydin…. We have companyyyy…."
Raydin spun around quickly, startling Scourge. He watched in awe as the two pokemon emerged from their bush.
They appeared to be twin pokemon, aside from the coloration. One was purple with tiny spikes in various locations on its body. The other one was blue, with only two spikes on its back. Raydin aimed his pokedex at them. "Nidoran, the poison pin pokemon. These pokemon look different between genders, and they have completely different evolutions." Raydin's eyes narrowed, if at all possible, he would try for both of them. Raydin held out his other pokeball and grinned. "Go, Ignus!"
The puppy appeared in a flash of light, and he was sleeping. Raydin's eye twitched and he yelled, "Ignus! Wake up!"
The puppy jumped. "Gahh. Who, what where-Oh, hello Raydin." He yawned. "I think my sugar rush is gone."
Raydin raised an eyebrow. "Well that was fast. Now, can you focus on the battle at hand?"
Ignus nodded. "I can do that much Raydin." He grinned and faced the new adversaries, eager to please his trainer.
"Ignus, go after the female! Scourge, the male!"
The two dogs stepped into action. Ignus released a powerful water gun at the female, while Scourge began howling. Ignus smiled at the girl nidoran. "Hi, I'm known as Ignus. We're going to capture you!"
The girl nidoran blinked. "What? Like, I don't get it. Why are you like, attacking me?"
Ignus shook his head and followed up with a bite. His fangs sank into the nidoran's belly. (like ow!) He roared, and sent her flying into a tree. "Why don't you fight back? You're just taking the hits!"
She shook her head. "What the…I feel different somehow. Ow my head! Are you the one that hit me? I'll get you!"
Ignus stepped back. "What's with the sudden change in personality? Raydin…"
Raydin nodded. "When you roared her into the tree she must have hit her head. The impact probably had an effect on her brain…you may want to take her a bit more seriously…"
Scourge grimaced. This was getting difficult. "So poison pin, do you really think you can defeat me?"
The nidoran grinned. "You don't look so good DOG! I have a feeling that you won't make it past today!"
Scourge howled, and drool dripped from his mouth. "Fool! I shall feast on your bones and devour your flesh. You do not stand a chance!"
Scourge ran at the pokemon, and he released a powerful tackle. Scourge looked to his side, where there was now a small hole dripping with blood and a mysterious fluid. Scourge's eyes widened. He looked at Raydin in a panic. "Po-Poison! I…I…" Scourge saw the blood dripping from his wound and a glazed look appeared in his eyes. "Blood…Raydin, you may want to stand back..."
Scourge went into a frenzy, attacking everything within his sight. He repeatedly tackled the nidoran, as he continued to injure himself on his enemy's spikes. Every time he saw blood, it only spurred him on, making his attacks more and more desperate. But as the attacks continued, his pulse increased, causing the venom to wreak havoc on his body. Scourge began to slow, becoming weaker and weaker. He stopped moving, and he collapsed. Raydin held out his pokeball. "Scourge, return!" Raydin closed his eyes, and he turned back to the battle at hand.
Ignus was standing in a battle stance, mirroring the female nidoran. "Ignus, no contact attacks, use Water gun, and Roar!" Ignus nodded, and began charging up water in his mouth. With his mouth full of water, Ignus began to speak to the nidorans. "I hraf to defreat yrou for Raydrin. Yrou wirr be jroining us!"
The thin beam of water shot from Ignus's mouth, hitting the female nidoran and knocking her back quite a distance. Ignus turned to the male.
He wasn't a pretty sight. While his spikes had damaged Scourge quite a bit, he had taken a lot of damage too. Blood was all over its spikes, belly and face. Not all of it was from Scourge. There were bruises covering his whole body, and his right eye was swollen shut. Ignus grinned, this would be easy.
Ignus started to charge up water in his mouth when he was hit by a charging peck. He turned on the female nidoran and bared his fangs, ready to bite. He lunged towards her, but he ended up getting a mouthful of purple.
Ignus backed up, and he observed the scene before him. The male nidoran had jumped in front of the female. There was blood dripping down its side. He looked at Raydin and Ignus. "If you must take one of us, I wish that you will take me and leave her alone. Please sirs…"
Raydin's lips tightened. "Ignus, back off." He picked up the pokeball and threw it towards nidoran male. Raydin smiled. You act as noble as a knight. I shall call you Regal.
Raydin watched the pokeball wiggle when he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around and saw Dahlia holding out an antidote and two potions. "Went to town and got these while you were battling."
Raydin smiled. "Thanks Dahlia. Now, let's see if I caught this poison pin…"
(OOC: yea, not one of my best works…)
Charzeon - Don't worry too much, now. That Egg will reveal something you won't be expecting.
pikakip - Excellent post, my friend. You have caught Regal.
Things were quiet between Clare and her starter for a while. The girl was too angry and frustrated to say much of anything and Chase was just happy that he had convinced his trainer to take the egg. Clare looked down at the smug little cat, then sighed and just continued walking through the forest, waiting for something to happen. Luckily for her, she didn't have much longer to wait.
"Hey, you!" A male voice shouted. "I want to challenge you to a battle."
Clare couldn't help but to grin as she turned around. As she expected, it was a younger boy who wore a t-shirt, shorts, sneakers and a baseball cap. She smiled more, realizing that this battle wouldn't be that hard at all.
"Sure, kid, I'll take your challenge," Clare said. "Chase, get ready for battle."
"Meowth!" Chase said happily, then jumped in front of his trainer and glared at the boy playfully.
"Huh, alright then," the boy said as he took out a Pokeball. "Come out, Rattata!"
The ball opened up and the purple and white rat appeared in a flash of light. It noticed the cat and gave him a growl. Chase just smirked at that and got ready to pounce.
"Use Quick Attack, Rattata!" The boy shouted.
"Counter with Scratch, Chase!" Clare shouted back.
The Rattata moved in a blur of speed at Chase, who had his claws out and ready. The rat slammed himself into the cat, but Chase swung one of his claws out, getting the Rattata on the side. Both Pokemon was knocked back by the other's attack.
"Chase, quick," Clare said, "get back up and use Bite on the Rattata!"
Chase grunted but got back up and raced over to the rat. He then pounced on the Rattata and clamp his jaws on the Pokemon's body. The Rattata gave a very loud squeak of pain and squirmed out of the cat's jaws.
"Rattata!" The boy cried out, then glared at Clare. "Rattata, fight back with another Quick Attack!"
"Ratta!" The Rattata squeak and once again charged Chase in a blur of speed, knocking him over again.
"Bite again, Chase!" Clare shouted.
"Meowth!" Chase hissed and ran at the rat, once again bitting down on him. The Rattata gave another loud squeak, then fainted.
The boy grumbled under his breath and returned the Rattata to his ball. He then took out another Pokeball and threw it up. In another flash of light, a Pidgey appeared.
"Alright, Chase, come back," Clare said, then took out her other occupied Pokeball and threw it into the air as the cat came back to her. That ball opened up and Shinobi once again reappeared in her own flash of light.
"Alright Pidgey, use Gust!" The boy shouted.
"Pidgey!" The bird called out and flapped it's wings, soon sending out a powerful gust that knocked the Absol back.
"Quick, Shinobi," Clare shouted, "use Zen Headbutt!"
Shinobi just nodded and launched herself at the bird, slamming her energy covered head into the Pidgey. The Tiny Bird Pokemon was knocked back and, when it got back up, cringed away from Shinobi.
"Use Zen Headbutt again!" Clare ordered.
"Absol!" Shinobi said, then slammed her head once more at the bird. This was enough for the Pidgey to faint.
"Damn it, you won," the boy growled as he returned his Pokemon. He then dug through his pockets and held out some money. Clare grinned and took the money from him. The boy grunted and walked away.
"Alright, nice going you two," Clare said, smiling at her two Pokemon. Chase gave a happy cry while Shinobi just grunted. The girl smiled and started to walk through the forest once more, her two Pokemon right behind her.
The girl had only walked a few feet before a Nidoran male appeared. Clare's eyes widen and then she smiled. She knew that these things evolved into pretty strong Pokemon, Nidoking to be exact. The trainer just had to have this Pokemon!
"Shinobi, quick, use another Zen Headbutt on that Nidoran male!" Clare shouted to her Absol.
Shinobi nodded before charging at the Poison Pin Pokemon and slamming her head into him. The Nidoran cried out in pain as the super effective attack hit him and slammed into a tree. He fell the ground, limp.
"Alright, now you're mine!" Clare shouted and threw a Pokeball at the Nidoran. The ball hit him and opened up, taking him into it in a red light. The ball snapped shut and fell to the ground. There, it shook once....twice...a third time....
