No idea why I decided making this but I don't know many people who use Bug Types. Some are actually good. I'd say Pinsir is a good choice, Scyther/Scizor is also good, it just came to me that Bug Pokémon are hardly ever used and seems rather unfair really. Obviously I wouldn't have a team but at least one would be okay, I think.

    Any Thoughts?

    Yanmega is awesome.
    Vespiquen is pretty good.
    Forretress too.
    Pinsir is underrated.
Parasect is a beast with Spore.
Shuckle can wall as long as the opponent doesn't have Seismic Toss.
Ninjask is the ultimate Baton-passer (Swords Dance, Protect, Substitute, Baton Pass + Speed Boost = awesome)
    Armaldo does decent damage.
Drapion isn't technically a bug-type, but is still awesome.
Wormadam-S I have found is actually extremely useful.
Plus the obvious Heracross and Scizor.

    Yeah, Bug-types are awesome.

Since half of OU teams use a single Pokemon that happens to be Bug-Type, no, they're not.

To add to that, Stealth Rock can really downplay their usefulness.

Strongly debatable, really. You pretty much only use them if they're of use to you. Personally, I've added a Scizor to my roster on Platinum since it has a pretty good Attack stat. But I never bother with others, for whatever reason.

People Don't Seem To Use Bug Pokemon Alot For Some Reason.
But If You Train Them Up There Last Evo Always Pays Off.

    E.g - Caterpie - Butterfree

    E.g - Kakuna - Beedrill

yh bug pokemon are under-rated because quite a few are pretty weak unless ur talking about the likes of...
    Pinsir, Heracross and Scizor.

So long as Scizor has Bullet Punch, bug-types will never be under-rated.

Many bug pokemon are underrated. Every other bug type is much too strong. Just look at them.
Fortress, Scizor, Heracross, and even Yanmega are well known pokemon. However, things like Vespiquen and Pinsir are not used at all, despite Pinsir having potential.

Besides the very powerful bug types or part bug types named, there are a lot of under rated bug types as well, Scyther for example is a good pokemon and people use it often. There are other types such as Butterfree, Beedrill or even Parasect can show up people depending on how you battle them. It is more difficult in the games but it can be done. There are quite a few bug type lover around here as well that I am sure will come to this thread lol.

I've used my fair share of bug pokemon and they always worked for me as well as other types. I guess they're just not a big favorite.

I'm assuming you're thinking of bug types like Butterfree, Beautifly, Dustox, masquerain etc. :S They are pretty under-rated, and rarely seen in battles, however Pokemon like Yanmega, Scizor, Heracross are used quite a lot. :D

    Also...

I have two Butterfree. One is level 64. It knows Psybeam, Dream Eater, Sleep Powder, and Silver Wind. The other is level 44 and knows Double-Edge, Bug Buzz, Psybeam and Gust. (Migrated them from my LeafGreen version.) They are both very useful.

With Beedrill, I usually deposit it after I evolve it, but I keep Butterfree.

I'm using Vespiquen in Diamond. I believe it's around level 40-something. (I don't think I beat Candice yet. I did a new game last month, but haven't played it in a while.)

I used Parasect once in LeafGreen, but it didn't learn any Grass Type moves. I got it to a high level, but I no longer have it.

My Venonat won the Master Rank in the Sinnoh Smart Contest. (It now has a Green Scarf.)

    I also have a Drapion.
In Heart Gold, I will either use Scizor or Heracross as my Bug Type. =)

    So, to me they aren't.

Drapion isn't a bug type, I think it's poison\dark, right? xD I never knew what type it was, until recently. xD

Though he is in the bug egg group, evolves from a bug-type, and is used by Aaron, the bug-user. So it's kinda a bug pokemon, like Gyarados is kinda a Dragon-type.

I know, I always thought it was a bug type until recently, when I tried to use a fire-type move on it in Diamond. xD I still dont get why Gyardos is flying xD This is kinda getting of-topic so...

I guess the reason why several bug Pokemon are under-rated is because...the majority are simply not good. :\ I mean, Butterfree\Ledian\Beedrill\Dustox\Beautifly aren't that strong, and aren't meant to be strong since they evolve early, and normally have bad typings, such as Parasect who has a double weakness to fire. :\

In in-game play, i'd say bug Pokemon are underrated, because most people only see the 'noob bug' Pokemon that mostly evolve at level 10, are fairly decent early on, and if not played right (which no one does), they kinda suck later in the game. People like to generalize things, so they thing all other bugs suck as well, which they of course don't.

But in competitive battling, bugs are definetely not underrated, just take a look at Scizor

    Ew... Bugs...

I hate Bugs in real life, so it's highly influenced my feelings towards Bugs in-game. Therefore, I say no Bugs is Good Bugs.
