Are you a vegetarian who doesn't eat animal products to stop them from being killed?

Animals fear us only because we have made sure they do. Why? We are scared of them. Simple as that. I'll admit I freak out when ever I see a tick. As my mom has said, "I can't believe somethign that small can make some one that big scream that loud." ^^' We fear animals. Some fear the small and creepy, others fear the large and feroucious. However, I don't think killing should be stopped. I mean one wild animal killing another. There's a reason for that. Population control. Other wise there wouldn't be any plants left on the planet.

I just said that animals have their claws and teeth :O you need to post faster to read faster posts.

animals deserve to live in that face of the earth, they deserve another chance, so we should give them what they deserve.

They deserve another chance? o_O When did the king of the world call all the animals before him and tell him that they had been miserable failures?

These animals aren't born to be eaten at all. If they die and they end up as food, then they're helping to feed a hungry person. And it's just bad luck, but the same can be said for people in crashes and other things.

If a person was "That" hungry they would eat anything.Not wait around for an animal to die.

Surrender? Surrender what? I'm just posting my opinions on the topic at hand. And yes it's true, and animal isn't picked to die, it's pure bad luck.

Of course they'll eat whatever's in their grasp, and what you're telling them to do is to pick something. Go to Africa, a poor and hungry person there will eat ANYTHING you give them, even raw animal meat because it's all they have. They have no fruit there, their lands are uselss, they have to eat animals so they can live.
 
Is it fair for many humans to never even have a chance to BE born? And many more to starve to death in squalor in their early childhood, maya?

I have resigned to the fact that birth inexorably leads to death...it's definitely not fair to be born only to die; I suppose humanity has just found a way to make animals serve a purpose, even if it isn't noble. We should definitely be more thankful for what we have.

There are needed for Earth to survive. Part of that needing means getting eaten to feed stronger animals.
 
This is probably waaaay offtopic but personally, I see animals as more important than we are. I dislike eating wild creatures, because we actually need them to survive ourselves (other than using them as food). Each one serves it's own perpose in keeping the balance of nature in check. We're messing that up by hunting species to extinction, because of our own selfish 'needs'. Some people say certain insects are useless, annoying, etc, but I think that they are probably most important of all. Think about it- If we didn't have mosquitos, we wouldn't have fish, meaning we wouldn't have certain birds, meaning no plants (bird droppings often contain still-intact seeds) Which would mean no herbivores, which would mean no predators (i.e. us). We, in my opinion, have no perpose to serve, as all we've done is destroy and lead ourselves and our planet to destruction. Now all we can really do is preserve certain species, and make up for what we've done, because we've been nothing but parasites.
 
Sorry to double post, but I was looking at page 5 of this thread, and the things bna_li said were VERY offensive. I'm a christian too! But I beleive animals have emotions just as we do. The Bible never said animals couldn't think. And just because we govern them doesn't mean we have the right to torture them! The queen of England doesn't eat her subjects, does she? President Bush doesn't go around shooting us to wear our skins! What do you say now?!

You must be a liberal christian. I take back what I said about animals. But I never said they had to be tortured.
