This is probably just a spur of the moment thing, so I'm not really sure how much this applies to other people, but I thought I'd share anyway.

I know that there's already the "reasonable" extension for revival that I stuck in the Main Art Gallery Forum way back when, but I think having a more concrete deadline for reviving month-old threads in the Art Gallery would really help. Especially since there's no- well I guess I can't say that since it's been awhile, but as far as I remember, there was nobody really who even... paid any attention to that place. xD; So it'd be nice to have a more concrete duration of time to follow, because my thread is a month and 10 days old, and as far as I'm concerned, that's reasonable, but I dunno about what PC Staff thinks. :c

And some musing on the problem of inactivity there that might not be a problem anymore, but was when I was still active: I know one of the main reasons why I hate posting in PC's Art Gallery is that I don't exactly pump stuff out every month- or I don't exactly update it the /second/ I finish whatever I'm working on due to the general inactivity in that forum. Sometimes I let my stuff sit around in other websites for a few weeks before I finally get some free time to post it all here, and I hate making new threads for my gallery because I can't have all my older stuff in the same thread unless I ~go back~ and collect it all again.

So my suggestion is, maybe make a thread revival exception for the (main) Art Gallery, and maybe give digital and traditional artists more time to post in their threads before it dies and we have to make new galleries...?

    Two-cents. =u=b

To be honest, I have to agree. It seems a little difficult to get comments in the Art Gallery for one thing, so having a piece of art up for a while without amy replies tends to happen a lot, thus leading the gallery to go somewhat dead. This can leave it go dead for over a month which happens frequently there. I also agree with the fact that it's difficult to update all that often as unlike digital art, it's not as easy to.

I would propose possibly extending the rule to being 2 months rather than one?

I never see a thread appear twice on the "Just Replied" section of the main page, so I think it could help. I took a look there, and... yeah- the place is dead.

I agree with this. I also think that we should hatch a plan to make the art gallery a little less... dead. Having to post a different gallery every time you make a new piece is really annoying, especially when you have to dig up the art :/

Dear God yes. I've been angsting about the deadness of the main art section ever since I rejoined with this account. I don't even know why I started another gallery there. Sheesh, even last year there was at least some semblance of activity or chance of feedback, but now it's kind of pointless and that whole section might as well just be the deviantART meetup thread 'cause that's the only place non-G&P artists will be looked at, especially if they don't do fanart.

I'd be fine with pulling the revival rule entirely there. :/ If someone wants to update their thread from 2 years ago with new art, they can go ahead for all I care. And if, instead, it's been over a month and they want to just start fresh with a new thread, that's fine too.

u_u Any inactivity deterrent is a plus, imo.

That's been allowed in Pixel Art as far back as I can remember (which admittedly isn't that long) so the idea is nothing new. Given all the reasons everyone's stated I'm surprised that kind of exception isn't allowed for the main art gallery.

No way PC has had an art forum this whole time? Have I ever been missing out, I love to draw pokemon and the characters.:) Is there someplace I have to sign up for this, or do I just post my drawing on the forums?

o.o Just upload your pics somewhere (or attach them) and post a new thread in Art Gallery. Nothing else is needed.

Now that I think about it, is there a purpose to the no double posting rule in the Art Gallery? I realized that the rule I put in awhile back wasn't about reviving threads but rather bumping them with a new update if nobody had commented.

I think as long as there's a real update it should be find to lift the consecutive posting rule in the Art Gallery at least until the activity picks up and you can actually /expect/ a post if you show up again in two weeks and 6 days. <__<

    Though perhaps I'm stretching my luck? xD;

...I thought that was already a nulled rule in there, lmao.

    Altered the rule:
    Regarding "art-bumping"...
Felt I should clear this up. You ARE allowed to double post here to show new art in a thread as long as the post itself contains new art. If it's been more than a day or so and you have new art to show off, you can "bump" your old thread to post the new art even if no one has replied. The 30-day rule does not apply with this either, so long as it is your own thread. So reviving an art thread from over a month ago, so long as it belongs to you, is fine.

    y/n?
