Anyway, this is sort of an unfair fight, that being the star of the show versus a supporting character who, back before he wimped out and quit pokemon battling, might have appeared once every 30-50 episodes. Despite Gary being a more dynamic trainer with stronger pokemon, I just can't vote for him over Ash, who, despite his shortcomings, is a good character. I admit I like to watch the rivalry between Ash and Gary, and most of the time I support Gary over Ash...some days Ash annoys me, some days I'm ok with him, but if any of us hasn't realized by now that Ash is the foundation and center of the show they probably never will. Most of the time I try to focus on Ash's good qualities, although his battling style and pokemon irk me beyond belief (except for Raticate, that was his most awesome pokemon ever ;_; ) Gary makes a good antagonist, though his personality was watered down along with everyone else's in the Johto arc. I preferred him better as the arrogant master trainer who could get Ash so easily angry...although I hate people who act like that in real life in the context of the show he was interesting. Still, the show would be nothing without Ash, and that alone makes him more worthy than Gary. Ash's shortcomings are secondary, and for the most part Ash's actions make for interesting episodes. I'm not exactly an Ash fan though, he has a long way to go before I wouldn't be annoyed at him at all o_o;;
Gary! Gary! Gary! I've always liked the boy in purple better than Ash. He's just so much more interesting to me than Ashy-boy ever was. And he looks good in purple. Yeeeah.... :paranoid:
I think Ash because he may not have the most poweful Pokemon, but he puts his heart and soul into raising them and battling with them, which makes up for it, and makes them more powerful and confident.
I like Gary better. ^__^ And for those who just think he's arrogant and mean, he did change. XD I don't think he wimped out by deciding not to do Pok?mon battling. Maybe he just found that he didn't like it as much anymore and he wanted to try something different instead of continuing his rivalry with Ash.
I voted for Gary but that was really tough. >_< I like them both, for different reasons. I decided on Gary because I really started liking his character a lot.
Well, in the game I would choose Blue (Or Gary, in some terms. O_o;) But in the anime(before Pokemon Master Quest, haven't seen the show after that) Ash was great. =P Heck, I knew he was a cocky, stubborn and headatrong fella but he's nicer than Gary. O_o; To his Pokemon and his friends. Though now I heard that Gary turned over a new leaf, I'm not to sure...
XD; And besides AAML wouldn't be good if every liked Gary better than Ash.
oh this is no contest. gary of coarse,hu'd u think i was talking about.
he did change alot. he went from a hardcore trainer with the meanest and coolest looking pokemon to a wimpy kind boy hu smiles and ridiculiously cares for his pkmn just as much as ash*maybe he shouldnt of hanged w/ ash so much*
in my opinion he wimped out of battling just bcuz he didnt beat ash twice. i ha-dislike ash so much, he ruined garys reputation!!!*explosed*
Ash annoys the heck out of me. He releases all the good evolved pokemon he has had and relies on the bond he shares with his pokemon. He also has a lvl 255 pikachu which isn't fair....
Ash by far...
He may not be the most POWERFULL trainer, but he's still a great trainer. :)
And, he's very caring tward's his Pokemon, too. :D
Although I like Gary too, I still like Ash better. ^^
And, I think Ash is cuter, too. :D I love cute stuff. *glomp's Ash lol*
