As for the filler, honestly, why couldn't it have been barboach or something that hasn't really been showcased at all...

Who thinks Ash may lose this Battle?
Popular speculation says he is going to lose, train on Iron Isle and come back. I can see it happening, but I really don't think, or want, him to lose this battle. I mean to be honest, I kinda want to just seem Ginga-dan and Akagi summon the legendary dragons.
 
I don't think Satoshi will lose. Satoshi normally rechallenges a Gym after losing very quickly - after losing to Hyouta he challenged him again two episodes later. Given that the episodes up to DP112 are accounted for I can't see him having a rematch with Tougan. Ergo, I reckon Satoshi wins on his first try.
 
I think that Ash should use the super effective Chimchar against the latter of Byron's team so I forsee an evolution.

I also wonder how Glicsor will do; seeing as It's just evolved. I hope it's battling skills have vastly improved and he can be of help against Byron.

I want him to use Buizel against Steelix; I don't know why but I think that would make a great battle.

I hope Ash wins, soon he'll have his 4th badge =D.
 
I severely doubt he's going to lose. Considering the fact that Chimchar lived to fight his entire team, and the explosion that gave me my avatar/banner, I really don't think that Ash will lose.

But I do think that Buizel will get owned horribly. I can just see it now.

Hmm...would it be wise to make this the official discussion thread for the episode? This way, when Christmas rolls around, we don't have to clutter the boards.

Pikachu's also been used for every last badge battle, including Orange Islands and Battle Frontier, as well, right?

Yes that is correct...and WOW ash will not have SIX badges not 4, for whoever said that earlier...but I really do not think he might lose this match against Byron...but I do have my mind open for chimchar evolving though...
 
Oh I doubt he is going to lose too. I mean unless he battles Byron on like DP 120 again. XD I mean given all the new titles, he is probably going to win.
 
Basically the same as you, hothead. It does make good sense. But since he always take Pikachu, I doubt he'd take them. ):

How am I a hothead? And what does that have to do with this?
Anyway, Chimchar I think is going to be the star this time. Him or Gliscor.
 
Chimchar or Gliscor definitely might be the star...more Chimchar though since we saw it in the preview battling all three of the pokemon Byron uses...but it would be so awesome if Chimchar evolves...Paul might rip his own head off...lol
 
We all know that in some way Ash is gonna end up throwing Pikachu in somehow....he usually does -_- somehow. though I havent been watching the anime simply because I dont have cable and Im too lazy to look it up, plus its just getting old, so I wouldnt know about any new stratagies he's come up with.
 
well I think it was confirmed that he is not using Pikachu because one it has NOT A SINGLE type advantage and I think in the preview ppl saw Gliscor, Chimchar, and Buizel in the battle...

From the comments I've read, it appears that an Auratard took the time to slip his 2 cents into the Wiki article for the show, citing that Ash obtains a Riolu Egg when the main characters make the trip to Iron Island.

If Ash gets a Riolu, then I will never watch the anime EVER again. What was the purpose of movie 8 then? Really? Unless it never evolves....but it would still be stupid.
 
To bury the off-topicness, I will seriously boycott the anime if that specific situation were to happen. And that's speaking lightly.

Back on topic, I don't see the logic behind the argument that Ash might lose the battle. It makes no sense for Ash to wait 8 episodes to challenge Bryon again. (This is at the minimum, too...=\)

If anything, I can see him losing to Volkner. Perhaps Candice, but a loss to Volkner makes perfect sense as Volkner's ingame attitude is "I win too much because the people who battle me are all weak little shats anyway", and ties in with Flint's appearance.
 
Well yeah, again, the only way for him t have a rematch would have to be in like the ruins episode.
