ASh vs Byron

isn't it kind of mean to want his buizel to get creamed in this battle???
though those three pokemon listed above to battle candice seems very predictable...but I wouldn't mind seeing chimchar evolve still...it is better it evolve now rather than in a filler...???
It's not a filler if he evolves. Also Buizel is an annoying pretentious Sceptile expy. I hope he gets blasted to kingdom come.

oh c'mon that's a little too far...besides all trainers have got to have one main power source...and that's just buizel...FOR NOW...who knows what'll happen when his other pokemon evolve and ooh, I cannot wait until his GLiscor become even stronger!!!

Ha, I knew Buoysel would be defeated majorly to the almighty Steel-types. He's had enough spotlight now - a sound beating or two once in a while doesn't hurt. On the other hand, some great wins from Hikozaru and finally, Glion's first victory.

OK, so, since this is the unofficial thread for the episode, my review goes here.

-It went egggggzACTLY like I thought it would. =0

-I love how Team Rocket finds every fossil Pokemon under the sun except little ol' Aero. What, does the Japanese anime have no time for Aero? =[

-Chimchar beat Bronzor. Typical. The injury was unexpected, though.
-When Steelix kicked Buizel's ass (...like bad), I lol'd. See you all in hell. =D
-Steelix is like 349284907 times Chimchar's size. Nothing a little fire to face won't fix.
-People are saying the attack that beat Chimcar was Flash Cannon. I say it was Metal Burst, but it could be just me.

Now, Glion, because it's super-sexy, gets its own section.

-The poor thing, being Bastiodon's bouncing ball. I was all "HOW THE FACK DARE YOU. >=["
-Glion, taking a bite out of crime! XD (Someone had to say it. XDXDXD)
-I love how it just took Bastiodon by the horns and just om nom nom'd it to death.
-Fall! Am I gonna die? NO, I'mma trip you with my tail and make BAMF pose while explosion happens. Seck-SAY. :D
-Sand-Attack FTW? Even for Glion that's a bit eww...

Oh, and, no offense to anyone, but...
Chimchar didn't evolve.
HA!

My Review:
-Byron thinks he is a rock star.
-Bronzor was kind of weak and I loved the way Chimchar was like "Just put me back in the ball"
-Buizel got fragged by the over showcased snake...this was the greatest gym episode EVAR!
-The snake apparently lost also due to physics...whatever made it think it could fly is beyond me...
-Moescor get biting Bastiodon's neck, that was hillarious
-The tripping was the greatest thing ever
-Sand attack was useful which is cool, its nice to see some non damaging moves being put to good use.
-Gliscor owned Bastiodon...like how Steelix owned Failzel.^^
-Gliscor does something illegal to Ash...I thought this was kids show!!O_O Gliscor gone wild indeed
-The pose at the end!^^

-Preview-
-I like Whismer so I'm happy is getting some showcase, haven't seen one since Houen
-Looks like they are going through a montage of helping Wailmer but failing
-Dang it Failzel...

As Bulbapedia says, and I added the last one, this is VERY similar to his victory over Jasmine.

He won both of their badges in the 108th episode of each arc. (Jasmine in the 108th Johto Episode, Byron in the 108th Sinnoh Episode).
They both specialized in steel types, and owned a Steelix.
Ash defeated both of their steelix's with the first form of the fire starter pokemon of each region.

Huzzah for being online Christmas day! Well, in the UK, the day's almost up, it's 9pm

- Yay, GSC Opening Theme! Played all the way through!
- Hyouta is judging?
- Ooh, movie 1 music
- What, no way Flamethrower does nothing
- More movie 1 music! They used it in the last gym battle too! "Flying Pokeball Chaos" I love that track
- Get up, Hikozaru! No way it was a double know out :/ Oh, Hikozaru got up? Yay!
- That's an odd screech from Steelix...
- Flashback!
- When Hikozaru comes out for the second time, what music is it? I've always liked it
- Ash's eye zoom in no Hikozaru...he's really hurt :(
- What did she say about Mukubird?
- Glion was great!
- I love Pokemon Symphonic meldoy
- Glion's first gym win!
- And love Route 207

- Internet's going slow...can't skip Ashita wa Kitto!! Noo
- Eh? What episode did Machoke and Staravia have a battle?
- It never gets boring watching Oak being pwned by random Pokemon ever episode...the dub misses out

Preview

- Looks to be a boring filler...
- Satoshi is by himself!?
- Swampert is the mysterious Pokemon...reminds me of a hilarious Hoenn episode called "Abandon Ship!", except I get the feeling this episode won't be hilarious :/

Oh well I guess it isn't Chimchar's turn to Evolve, that's all...but poor buizel getting beaten like that, you know it'll be coming in for a revenge kill next gym it enters.
Well, I'm glad Glion got some experience and winning his first gym battle should be a real confidence booster for the little guy...

YAY!

Well it definitely wasn't going to evolve in this battle, but yeah I'm glad Glion was the winner.

Who knows it might evolve a few episodes down the road or by Candice...ya think?

And maybe I've misunderstood what the article on EP108 says, but it seems that the two Haganeil used a similar technique - slamming on the ground with their tails to reveal their opponent (Hinoarashi/Hikozaru) and force them above ground.

@Quick_Kid: Firstly, it was Glion's first win ever, not just in a Gym, and secondly, its gender is not confirmed - calling Glion 'him' is technically incorrect. ._.

Okay srry bout that...but I'm glad Gliscor won his FIRST battle ever, he deserved it...now I wonder what will happen next as Ash and Co continue there journey...

Does it really even matter if it evolves at all?

YES! Chimchar has so much potential and I want it to be the next fully evolved fire type Ash has...plus I want to see Paul fall down to it in the Pokemon league...after treating it such cruelly!!!

Yeah, but your acting as if its weak unless it evolves. A pokemon doesn't NEED to evolve to be strong.

I don't know why, but I forsee Chimchar evolving during the match with Paul in the league... But maybe it's just me :P

There is some evidence that Chimchar may evolve, apparently there is a Monferno figurine coming out 17th January in Japan. I can't remember exactly what, but figurines have came out of a Pokemon that will be owned by one of the characters in the near future like Yanmega, Glaceon, Mamoswine and Grotle. I remember someone going around here a while ago saying that Turtwig will evolve because the Grotle figure had came/will come out.

well I don't think a pokemon needs to evolve to be strong, for example: Pikachu, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and many more of Ash's non evolved pokemon...my sister in her game isn't evolving her Chimchar and I think it is a great Idea to do that...but that's something else...I just think that the writers of the anime seem to think that it might be necesary for chimchar to evolve...plus it'll be nice for Ash to have a new fire powerhouse other than Charizard...u think?
But I'm glad Gliscor got some major experience from this battle...I cannot wait to see it in many more...Actually I want to see Ash's Gliscor revenge kill Paul's Gliscor...LOL!!! That battle should be EPIC...

I think I would die from epic Glion overload. Too much sexiness for one screen. :p
