    Ash & His Goofups

I was watching Pokemon today and I cant remember the ep name...but the ep was Ash was fighting Nelson's Misdrevious, and Brock's Pinco evolved.

When Ash was battling using Phanpy, he said "Donaphan, attack!" instead of Phanpy! Anyone else ever notice this?

And what other goofups have you seen?

Yeah but there are a ton of dubbing errors in the show XD how bout this thread be about all of Ashs stupid dubbing mistakes? XD

Yesh! I will post a lot here cuz they translate to portuguese soo bad >___<

In the Pokemon The Movie 2000, in the portuguese version, Misty says shes the Gym Lader of Vermillion City! Gawh!

Ash alwasys say (portuguese) "Pikachu! Ataque Relampago Agora!" (Pikachu! Thunder Attack Now!) when in the englidh version he says "Pikachu! Thunderbolt Now!"... Darn idiot translators...

    When I remember more I post'em here!

I guess my mom was right when she said I'm not aware (even though she meant of my surroundings), because I don't ever remember seeing a dubbing error. Poor me, I need help.

    XD

That's the only dubbing mistake I've seen so far....I guess I dont pay attention either

I try not to watch the Anime on American television anymore. Because the following companies suck, and need to burn: A) Funimation B) 4kids Entertained and C) Any company that's american and tries to translate anime and put it on cable TV

I'm just going to buy the DVDs...imported from Japan, so I don't have to put up with the crappy dubbings.

I like the dubbings..I hate messing with subtitles, and I'd rather understand everyone XD Sides..i like the dub voices *nod*

The dub voices are okay, I got used to them after awhile, but the Japanese are really good, and I really like the Japanese names.

    Which would you prefer:
    Jesse and James, the outlaws.
    or
    Musashi and Kojiro, the samurai.
EDIT: Note- Going by who their name refers to, not their actual character on the show.

don't ask me that. I'm biased towards the old west. XD

I rarely catch dubbing errors. I remember the obvious ones from back in the first movie. The dude calling his Pidgeot a pidgeotto and TR calling a Scyther an Alakazam (or was it the other way around...) Funny thing is that I was probably the only one in the theater to catch them. I was 11-12 (a reletively sharp one at that) surrounded by a bunch of 5-8 y/o with their parents...

i noticed those two mistakes inteh first movie too. And just now, in this episode I'm watching, Ash is battling an electabuzz in teh silver conference and brock says " Both of ash's remaining pokemon are both water types and they're completely weak against fire type!" When ahs isn't fighting a fire type at teh time, adn as we all know, water is not weak to fire. it's not exactly ash's mistkae, but it is a mistake.

I remeber 3 errors. One was when Ash lost all of his Johto badges and then the little flash back thingy. He said he got his Glacier badge from Falkner. O_O Another time was at the Silver Confrence, and Misty said Furret was a ground type. Another time when Ash was taking a Pok?mon test, and the guy said that Poliwag's swirl reverses when it becomes a Poliwhirl, but they showed a picture of a Poliwag, and a Poliwrath. I also I remember an error in the Pok?rap, when the guy said Poliwrath, they showed the pic of Poliwag. Why they confusing one of my favorite Pok?mon?

    O-o I never noticed that...lol

"Elekid, the evolved form of Electabuzz?" [Here's looking at you, Elekid!]

    XD

And PIKA2, that was Brock who said Furret was a ground type XD

    I haven't noticed any problems!

They can be hard to notice at times.

    - This has happened about 50 times in the series:
"Oh no! It's a rock type which is immune to electric attacks."
    1) Ground is resistant to electric, rock isn't. 2) Since when has that stopped Ash's Gamesharked Pikachu?

    - In Pikachu's Rescue Adventure, the Poliwhirls say "Poliwrath."

    - In the first Red Gyarados episode they say Cianwood Gym is the last gym when it is the second to last.

Ash alwasys say (portuguese) "Pikachu! Ataque Relampago Agora!" (Pikachu! Thunder Attack Now!) when in the englidh version he says "Pikachu! Thunderbolt Now!"... Darn idiot translators...
More proof to my theory that they just randomly pick electric attacks to say that Pikachu uses. His Thundershocks seem stronger then Thunderbolts a lot (when Thunderbolt is supposed to be stronger). Also, anytime someone mentions Thunder Jolt (excluding the card game) I cringe in pain.

*continues hating 4kids for destroying the animes they translate*

In the episode: Johto Photo Finish.

Ash commands charizard to do a Seismatic Toss, even though the attack he did was an Earthquacke, if you have watched previous eps where Charizard did an earthquacke, youll see its the same attack.

No, that wasn't a goof. i have that ep on GameBoy video. That wasa seismic toss. He picks a pokemon up, swirls around teh air a few times, tehn smash tehmn into teh ground. That is not earthquake. That really was seismic toss. They may be similar, but just look at the names. Seismis is referring to the shaking of teh gorund during an earthquake. So I suppose it makes sense you could hve gotten confused. The only time Iv'e seen a pokemon use earthquake, they basically stomped on the ground and teh ground shook. I believe it was ash's phanpy vs. macey's Slugma.
