4th Gen Ash's Pikachu Event *USA*

I've been looking for this to be available over wifi for a long time now but still nothing. Hopefully they will decide to do it because I don't want to have to whip out the old action replay just to get it. I know not everybody has internet access but there are still a lot of people like me who have to drive forever just to get to Gamestop/Toys "R" Us.
 
this event strikes me as completely pointless to be honest. i mean, its not like pikachu is hard to come by. it doesnt have any special moves like the shiny and noched eared pichu had. it doesnt unlock anything in game either. i just dont see what the point is. i dont live near a toys r us so i cant get one, but i dont think i would end up getting one even if i could.

Why would you need to whip out AR? It's not like Pikachu is rare or impossible to obtain in the game.

I don't know how many times I have to say this. It's for marketing purposes. Pokemon events are usually there topic market things, like the Shiny Beasts and Celebi to market Black and White, Notched Ear Pichu to Market HGSS. And the list goes on. For this case the event is in place to market Pokemon Black and White Anime aka Best Wishes.
 
Wish they would make these kind of events that aren't available for countries via WiFi. If I had the opportunity on getting this event, I'd attend.
 
I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I walked into my nearest ToysRUs yesterday and the staff had NO idea what I was talking about. Eventually one of them got hold of the manager who said that their store was not participating in the giveaway, and that the nearest store that was, was...well, a LOT farther away. Similar happened to my friend who called up another ToysRus--the staff there wasn't sure if they were holding the event.

If you're planning to pick Ash's Pikachu up, double check with the ToysRUs you're going to! I don't know if this is only some weird quirk for my area, but it'll be a good idea to check anyway.

They did the same thing to me a long time ago when I tried to download Shaymin. Luckily I have two Toys R Us in the same City.
 
any word on when this and celebi come to europe? i look all over but can find nothing on either one :(
 
nothing major went to my local Toys R us and they said they were not going to be distributing Pikachu

I have the Pikachu since I happened to be near a Toys R' Us the day the event started. Nothing too special about it, it is at level 50 which kind of surprised me though.
 
I got it, though its nothing special except for the fact that its a pikachu with a light ball. And its lv50 so i dont have to worry too much on what it learns.

Looking at the stats, it seems that this pikachu specializes more on physical attacks rather than special, so thunderbolt would probably do poor damage without the light ball.
