Not enough JRPGs. /shot

The only MMORPG I've played thus far is FFXIV...a friend of mine did try and get me into WoW when I was in University, but I couldn't get it to run on my laptop. All things considered, it was probably for the best. I'm generally against paying for my games more than once, amongst other things =P

When it comes to games in my Steam library, I am currently sitting at 120 games. Course I do know that some of the games in it are not Mac compatible. Course when it comes to the categories I have them sorted in, my two biggest categories are Choose Your Own Adventure and Puzzle.

Noire's game was fun enough, but the plat was easily the worst I've done so far for a Neptunia game. So many Lily ranks to max out...urrrrrgh. It'll be a while before I go back to that one.

This is the greatest thing I've ever read in a while. Its good to actually see literature exist in the internet for once ;)

Why Anime and First Person Shooters can be a match made in heaven RIOT PLZ!

Funny how when i think of some animes, this guy was in unison:

F.E.A.R x Elfen Lied (Pointman vs Lucy? RIOT PLZ!)
Shadow Warrior x Blood/+/C (Oooohhh Saya with a Quad Barrel Shotgun along with her signature Katana. Riot Plz). Lo Wang and Saya = best Asian team ever. "Hey Saya, you wanna watch Wang's Wang?"

I'm still waiting for my Dynasty Warriors Precure game. Preferably one that doesn't glorify HeartCatch, though. I'm not sure any of the anime I like asides Ghost in the Shell - which has already been done as an MMO I believe - would really fit the FPS category. Well, I can imagine Shimoneta doing something like Gal Gun, although I'm not sure I even like that show yet...

If ever I become like some sort of yewtube personality where i play League of Legends and other games inbetween my day-off days (so i can get the $KRILLA$ while doing the things i love, not like my friends who have to be stuck with LEL OFFICE JOBS or "work), if ever a couple of people ask me to do a playthrough of Hyperdimension neptunia, it be something like this:

1) I call Neptune "Murderqueen" and the rest of the gals "Murder laddies"
2) I still manscream in moments where i deal TONNES OF DAMAGE to the enemies where i go "OOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" and "YOU LIKE THE MURDER? YOU LIKE THE MURDER COMING FROM OUR MURDERCOGS!" and "BOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSHHHHHH!" as if I was playing League of Legends or any of the games i usually play (games with blood, ultraviolence, and supermurder)

(But Xin, how can they have murdercogs if they are all girls? Well the thing is that Neptune carries the dismembered "members" of her victims around in a bag, taking one out every time she murders someone else. She then replaces it with a fresh one. That's how its done)

3) I won't resort to making any pervy undertones because of the fanservice.

4) Of course, being a screaming lunatic like the person i am, I would need the help of my much more calmer and wiser friend to balance things out. I remember this was the role my younger cousin used to do, then my college buddy who's too busy playing CIV 5 because he's a bigger nerd than i am.

Then again, that's how i play any game. Every protag who i play as, whether its a guy or a gal, or even a thing, is a murderking.

(and since the lets plays subforum is long done, i think we can talk about them here now ;))) I dunno what I'm talking about)

Whoever was the artist behind Neptunia. I salute you. The art was the reason why i was tempted to get the game for SUCH A LONG TIME. and now I have it, in my hands, if you know what i mean. Damn game posters in the store was always the first thing i saw because it was so conveniently placed in such an angle where i would always see that Neptunia poster no matter where i looked.

Is there a bigger quality jump between games than Donkey Kong Country 1 and Donkey Kong Country 2 (outside Street Fighter)? Because holy shit.

Goes to show how good level design trumps all in a platformer. Replaying these games after so long, and I initially only didn't want to move on to the sequel until I beat the first game, but it's so, so bad. I was worried that I might not end up enjoying DKC2 as well like I used to, but here I am being completely addicted to it after dreading DKC1.

Everything DKC1 did so wrong, DKC2 did right. Level design, enemy placement, power up interactions, collectibles, hidden secrets, the list goes. I feel like anyone who wants to design a platformer should play these two games to know what they should and shouldn't do.

I can cite a few examples with these sequels that prove to be great sequels + HUGE improvements.

Borderlands 1 to Borderlands 2
Spoiler:

Tekken 4 to Tekken 5
Spoiler:

Diablo 2 Vanilla to Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction

It's a shame that sequel usually means "slightly altered clone" these days for the most part, as we've had some great sequels in the past that have really improved upon and expanded the originals.

I should play a platformer again somewhen soon, come to think of it...I'm on Chapter 4 of Tales from the Borderlands already so I'll be in the market for something new again soon, haha. Or I could play something on my backlog. Either or.

Eh...I'd really argue this one. If they actually made more solid improvements between titles I'd probably actually be a fan of Borderlands. So far, though, BL1 and Tales of are the only ones I've played at length, and that's kind of why.

I dunno, Borderlands 2 didn't feel like a HUGE step up from Borderlands, it mostly just introduced new classes and tweaked the gameplay a little. I wouldn't say the gameplay dramatically improved; I had just as much fun on it as I did the original.

That said, the story was a lot more appealing, because Handsome Jack was just so damned charismatic. It was all a load of bollocks, but it was entertaining. The DLC expansion packs were substantially better, too. Tiny Tina's Dragon Keep was fantastic <3

Okay hold the phone, who changed our lovely Dark Souls 3 VG Background into Overwatch? Just kidding. I'm not here to slap you with my murder-chicken. I'm here to give you a hug. A MAN HUG! WITH MY XIN + Doomguy HANDS! Great picture but lack of D.Va is making me feel that you still need a slap, but a light one. I'm on to you...

EDIT: Okay i get why we have the Overwatch background. The Open beta is tomorrow and obviously a lot of us will be playing. I'd be spamming Reaper though since I wanna press R to win. Death Lotus. Pressing R? I'd Ship Overwatch's Reaper and League's Katarina. DEATH LOTUS! WHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, protip. If you're playing a co-op campaign of Borderlands with a friend who's really the kind of person who loves to be engrossed and immersed. DO NOT EVER SKIP like the quest rewards dialogue. My friend actually rage quitted on me because I turned in a quest on his hosted game, but the dialogue isn't even that long. Then again, we died countless times against the vehicle enemies since we were both playing with LULZ Lag. (Road Warriors quest. Don't ask how many times we died because of poor lag + poor play on our parts) I was left speechless. And i thought most of my RL friends are never toxic.. OH WAIT, except him, especially if he dies several times, which in the early chapters and levels (around 20-ish) of BL1, isn't even that bad since money is still easy to farm for. Around the late 20s and beyond is where the money penalty starts to rise up.

Also, i finally can use Launchers in BL1. I guess i needed to just actually play the game more. I finally am starting to appreciate Brick especially with The King Wee Wee's Super Booster. My theorycrafting is working!

Someone has been watching Star Wars. xD

On the subject...I might buy Star Wars Bounty Hunter somewhen; that has always been my favourite Star Wars title. The gameplay was surprisingly good for its time - especially considering you get a jetpack - and I think it tells one of the better pre-Clone Wars stories...an achievement, considering how awfully that period was handled in pretty much every aspect.

The PS2 had a lot of good 1-offs. Transformers will always come to mind in reference to that. Was interestingly designed for...Transformers or any game, fun, looked great, and now it's pretty much lost to history.

Also, my only regret is that Tracer's face is obscured by the Twitch symbol. But that splash was kind of a nightmare to make work, anyway.

Well, May 4 is indeed Star Wars day... and speaking of Star Wars... at least for the North American side of things. its already May 5 here in the Asian side of the globe.

We've already have Brutal Doom, Brutal Wolfenstein, Brutal Halflife, then an upcoming Brutal Doom 64, Brutal Metroid Prime (which I'm still currently developing), and to make Star Wars day complete....

Brutal Star Wars Dark Forces must absolutely become a thing. Oh yes.. Yes.. it must be. Ever wanted to see a Rebel Commando just rip and tear a Sith Soldier or a stormtrooper in half, then stomping on its dying remains with his Rebel Shoe? Or how about a Glory Kill/Fatality where the Rebel Commando goes into a Hansoloinduced Rage and grabs the unlucky Sith lord's murdersaber, and shoving it straight into his Sith-derrier? That's how its done! *goes on to mod my Copy of Dark Forces* (and of course everyone will agree with me. Everyone wants to see a bloodier, gorier, and punchier Star Wars game)

Eh...I don't think it'd really benefit from it. After all, you can already dismember people in the Jedi Knight games.

Surprised this one's getting such a quick Steam release. Wonder how quickly they'll get to Blanc. It'd be real nice if we got splitscreen out of a port of that.

...Also, where the hell's that Senran Kagura port that's supposed to be happening?

I should finish off Tales from the Borderlands tomorrow...damnit. But on the plus side, I get a shiny new Platinum trophy with minimal effort. xD;

Speaking of Senran Kagura, I should buy a physical copy of Estival Versus...somewhen. I'm getting Ray Gigant tomorrow because I've suddenly developed a craving for DRPGs and it looks appealing right now.
