Sniper Elite 4 was just announced. Taking place in WW2 Italy, sign me up.

I actually wanted to say something about this but i guess well maybe its not the time.. Heck who am i kidding.

Even though its WW2, its WW2 Italy. I mean there's loads of WW2 games that take place in the German front and the Pacific fronts but i don't think there weren't many games that took place in Italy, ya all know, home of the "other main bad dude" Benito Mussolini? I could be wrong though.

Also, VG? You hungry? HOW ABOUT SOME MAMA? COOKING MAMA??
[PokeCommunity.com] Back to the Grind(stone)

Believe it or not, i actually bought a Cooking Mama game. Don't judge. I remember buying one from the store, and I told the cashier that its a gift for a friend. I didn't want the cashier to be looking at a young adult male who just lost his sanity for a whole hour.

I mean, I'm craving a WW2 game, so I don't care where it takes place. But Italy sure is a unique location for it.

Plus I just want to see the D-Day landings in glorious XBOX One/PS4 HD.

As a youngin back in the day, I remember the PS1 Medal of Honor having a pretty glorious D-day landing sequence. It was a pretty sight. Heck, it was Saving Private Ryan that made me beg my dad to get me Medal of Honor after i performed well in school. The good ol times. Also, Tom Hanks.

Since someone in VG actually made a topic about First Person Shooting:

Hey, its the TF2 Scout's great grand daddy, along with the TF2 Engineer's long lost grand-dad.

Fable has always been a collection of promises that Peter Molyneux could never keep. Nothing of value was lost.

This generation has seen me favoring the PC above all else, which hasn't happened since I was 5 and PC was the only thing in the house. My Wii U has no physical game copies right now (and most of its games are VC), I only have two games for my PS4 right now (one an excluse and one I already had on PC but I wanted 10 extra character slots #DarkSouls2) and what the hell is an Xbox Juan?

At this point, I might as well save some money on future console releases and just invest in upgrading my GPU. That said, I'm holding out for Zelda Wii U and I'm browsing more of PS4 to find interesting things that can run. So far I'm tempted to get an XIM3 or XIM4 for PS4 then get FPS games like Battlefield or SW: Battlefront and just listen to people get pissed off at how much I'm winning because I'm now able to use a mouse&keyboard with my PS4. Funniest thing is all these people who claim it's "cheating" are actually just inadvertently admitting that when it comes to FPS games, PC has been and will always be superior in every conceivable way.

Bolts fired much good sir?

I'm thinking of getting some hot mouse and keyboard action in console as well so i can get my numerous bans in every room for being accused of aimbotting or hacking. "HOW IS HE QUICKSCOPING US IN LESS THAN 2 SECONDS FLAT? HAAAAAAAAXXXXXXX" I can see the tears and salt already.

I have to admit, once a troll move comes together, it's glorious.

I've got a Dark Souls 2 build lined up called "Medicine Man" who I intend to be a troll build. He'll gain people's trust in summons or invasions by being a helpful guide and healer then backstab you at the last minute (you normally can't hurt allies in summons, but Lifedrain Patch hurts allies, making it very hated by people who aren't trollers).

Peter Molyneux should work for Square Enix; he'd fit right in there.

I really feel like buying The Witch and the Hundred Knight Revival at the moment...something is very wrong with me =/

Since we are being so savage today, i might as well add more shells to be fired so i read about mr. Peter Molyneux and well, he can apply to Kojima Productions, so that he can be fired the next day for spilling Mr. Kojima's coffee and overreacting to the accident.

Here, everyone have a SMART Gun:

And he was so excited about that coffee, too.

Ew, Colonial Marines. I've seen them selling that for about £3 with purchases in stores like HMV sometimes...they can't shift the stock by itself so it has to go on the counter. xD

Sword and Shield was my choice for faster enemies solo, but online I always preferred the lance. I never could get used to the lack of proper dual analogue, so sacrificing mobility for added defense was a good option for me. At least until the games go back to a console with proper controls.

Monster Hunter (Tri specifically, my first MH game) was actually the game that taught me about my love for Heavy weapons- in games that know good game feel. I've taken to using heavy weapons for agile builds, since I prefer playing the dodge game to defense in ARPGs. Granted, I don't always go Heavy Weapon/Agile character, since I do enjoy using other weapons (generally lighter or more technical swords), but it can be fun depending on the game in question. But agile builds are pretty consistent, since mobility's just too fun.

Back when I first started MH I used S&H almost exclusively, but once I tried out the Switch Axe (odd, because I'm not much of an axe person), I was in love. It's still my weapon of choice- probably because most of my playtime after the fact was dominated by it.

The weapon I took to in MH4U was the Charge Blade. It has the Sword mode for that traditional Sword and Shield type play, and then you can unleash the axe when you feel like it, too! I like having options and switching between the two forms...
(*nudges people talking MH* We should all go hunting sometime.)

I'll probably give ranged builds a try when I get back into MH4U, actually...in multiplayer titles in general I always favour more defensive builds. Probably because I hate being a healer - you get nothing but abuse for it - plus if you're drawing all the attention you get healing priorities, so you don't need to worry about that.

Dodging requires more effort and if you screw it up you're probably going to take more damage if you're built for attacking. The only problem arises from unblockable attacks...which Monster Hunter enemies have in spades. Freakin' Agnaktor with it's freakin' fire laser beam...

I will ride and die with Great Sword. Been using it since Freedom Unite, no plans to stop. It's such a rewarding weapon type both in damage and feeling. It's absolutely exhilarating reaction to land a Lv. 3 Charge, even more so, if you did a ballsy read to do so. It still boggles my mind that people are unfamiliar with how this weapon plays though... It possesses the most straight forward game plan, look for an opening - > sheathed attack - > run away - > look for an opening again - > sheathed attack - > run away - > charge attack whenever - > and most certainly, do not use upswing (seriously, people, that move is situational as fuck).

Switch Axe is cute as well. I honestly wasn't expecting too much when I first played it in Tri, but after you acquaint yourself of all the moves that put you in the negative, and get the mobility down. Pretty fun. It becomes even more amusing when combined with Evade +# and Evade Distance.

I've always wanted to get better at using Hunter Horn. That's probably the coolest weapon to use. You can buff, do obscene amounts of damage, KO monsters, and all the while, look super stylish. Props whoever uses this weapon to its max potential, you're definitely a skilled hunter.

I'd definitely be willing to try it. Those unique/technical weapons always catch my eye, but it's pretty rare that I actually try them out. I think I tried it out in the MH4 demo, but that's about it.

And I tried the Charge Blade once. I could definitely get into it, but I suppose due to my playstyle being more Hack&Slash with a charged attack with the right chansu, I couldn't really justify using the weapon devoted to it. Plus, coming from the Switch Axe to a weapon that actually manages to be slower presents a bit of a barrier for entry for me, but I can totally see the fully charged attacks being incredibly satisfying.

Speaking of MH4, still haven't gotten it. One of these days, though. One of these days.

Dodging requires more effort and if you screw it up you're probably going to take more damage if you're built for attacking. The only problem arises from unblockable attacks...which Monster Hunter enemies have in spades. Freakin' Agnaktor with it's freakin' fire laser beam...
That's because you have to be good, M.

No, really though, it is a big risk/reward alternative that I suppose I enjoy on that merit. In general, I'm the type of guy that will be horribly annoyed by an ARPG that doesn't include dodge rolling or some equivalent dodging alternative, mainly when the game would just be better for it (I could go down the list of games that do this). I just love the excitement of it all, and the satisfaction and payoff feels pretty damn good. Defense is definitely safer of the two, but in general relying on reading the enemy and their moves, knowing and employing your environment, and understanding your character and how they move to ultimately come out unscathed from a devastating attack (or several smaller ones) is fun as hell, it's definitely a lot of what I like about ARPGs when they know how to make movement reactive and with at least slight depth.

...And as much as I love it, I really wish we'd see more ARPGs that- well. I dunno. I have a lot of hopes and dreams for the genre, just seems like it still has a lot of untapped potential. Isn't really as popular (or populated) as it should be in 2016, either. Really wouldn't mind if smaller devs decided to take ideas from the giants. I'd prefer it actually, it's about time we get some momentum.

Well the truth is, when it comes to the handeld ARPGs at least, I'm not that good. The lack of dual analogue really screws me over - I could do alright in Tri with most weapons (although I still favoured the Lance, after one too many run-ins with Deviljho and general ineptitude in water, haha) - but when I played the 3DS version...pffft. I just couldn't adapt to the control scheme and I gave up, because it was frustrating being repeatedly decimated by monsters I'd been beating with ease up to that point, and lock-on camera really didn't help matters either...I could see the enemy, but I couldn't see where I was going, which was just as much of a nuisance.

I dunno if the N3DS' nub will make MH4U any better for me with enough practice - damn thing is really resistant to being moved - but I didn't want to invest in a circle pad pro a few years back and the PSP's Freedom Unite controls were sheer hell.

I was good at Soul Sacrifice Delta on Vita though. I might pick up Toukiden: Kiwami on PS4 at some stage (only have the Vita version) and see how I roll with that, too. Its just for these kinds of games I feel more comfortable with a controller in my hand. Probably because I started with Tri and I really enjoyed the experience. Or maybe I'm just better suited to slower paced RPGs that are a little more formulaic and a little less hectic. Feel free to laugh at me. xD

What? You didn't like... the CLAW?

[PokeCommunity.com] Back to the Grind(stone)
No, I did not. My hand started to ache after about five minutes of that. xD
I've not tried Freedom Unite on my Vita yet, though...I wonder if dual analogue makes it playable?
