Warriors Orochi 3 was...interesting. Apparently the Ultimate version is substantially better - plus it has Sterk from the Arland titles in it; instant win right there! - although I've yet to pick it up. SW4-II was a lot like an Xtreme Legends DW title comparatively; it's something of an acquired taste much like the XTreme Legends games are...they're tacked-on content that doesn't quite justify a full retail release even though it gets one, but would cause merry hell if it was released as DLC.

Still need to pick up Samurai Warriors 4 Empires and see how that plays out, too...eventually. It'd help if KT didn't release so many of the bloody things; it's not quite an annualised franchise but with all the variations we get it might as well be. We've got that Attack on Titan one to, uh, look forward to in August, plus that interesting-looking tactical DW title they announced recently too.

Speaking of Warriors games...Precure Warriors now, please. It was highest on a Japanese poll, so even if it never comes here - and I would import the hell out of it if it didn't - they really should be making it. Come ooooooon, KT. It's not too much to ask for!

Precure Warriors is going to have so much of that Tecmo element of the Koei-Tecmo character design. I can already feel it. Just like Naotora.

I figured that i need to subcribe to some gaming news sites (not Polygon since you all know how i'd rip and tear them even before their headlinings from the last month) in order for me to like catch up on relevant things to talk about for DCC and we be like UNLEASH THE WRATH when i find some important looking news artciles ^o^

If they're going to make it, it really needs a cel-shaded anime vibe to it, similar to the Arslan and earlier Gundam titles. Precure's CGI is...not great. Not great at all. Since Smile it's become far more obnoxious.

Thinking on it, unless it only focused on the newer Cures, KT couldn't localise it, because Smile Precure has already been adapted in the West as Glitter Force...and because Smile was written by a Tokatsu writer and has some of the most ridiculously over-the-top fight scenes in the franchise, you just know that'd make a good Warriors game. That the five are elemental-based would give them plenty of variety in their movesets, too.

Speaking of...Dynasty Warriors Power Rangers. Ohhhhh man. If only.

That DW game I was vaguely alluding to but couldn't pin down is a strategy RPG of all things, by the way - Siliconera just put up a new article about it. Looks very strange, but the second I see the term "strategy RPG" used literally anywhere I immediately take note of it.

...also, Criminal Girls 2 is coming out in September. I'm actually pretty excited. The censorship never bothered me because what drew me to the game was the cutesy art style, simple-yet-fun battle system, and amazing soundtrack. Definitely picking this up <3

If the Wii U is current gen alongside the PS4 and Xbone, in terms of games that are actually worth playing I'd say they're all on equal footing. Of course, the sales would disagree with that assessment, but that's my personal experience of them thus far. That said, there are going to be some truly fantastic games coming out for the PS4 in the future, and I expect the Xbone will get by. The Wii U has been dead in the water for well over a year, and its stinking, bloated corpse won't get cleared out the pond until the NX arrives sometime next year...IF Nintendo don't repeat the same mistakes they made with the Wii U, anyway.

I think I bought a PS4 too soon - especially with these PS4.5 rumours/confirmations/whatever floating about, but I doubt I'll regret buying it. I've had very little use out of my Wii U because Nintendo don't chuck out console mothership titles on a very regular basis, and that's practically all the console has going for it excluding the backwards compatability angle.

So far Smash 4 was the only thing I played regularly and even then I lost interest.

The only reason why I keep my Wii U around is the upcoming Zelda game, and yet THAT's just been delayed to 2017.

Just like with the Wii, the biggest use I have for my Wii U is the Virtual Console games....which sadly doesn't have as big of a library right now as I wished it had.

The new Zelda will also be on the NX, shock horror. I'd be willing to bet that will be the only game worth buying at launch, too. I can't even remember the last time a console or a handheld system had a good launch lineup. Not since the days of the fifth gen, I don't think. It's getting to the point where a console is an investment of faith...faith abused, if you wanted AAA titles on the Vita or pretty much anything on the Wii U, really.

I refuse to buy GBA titles on the Wii U virtual console. They belong on the 3DS. Or the New 3DS, at least. The handheld is more than capable of running them; even the old 3DS is, as we got several GBA games as part of the Ambassador scheme. That was several years ago now. It's time they stopped faffing about and started releasing them. It can only boost sales.

Wow, talkative day, talkative day.

Yeah, and they can. It's quite silly that they haven't yet, considering I've been injecting GBA games in my 3DS for a little while now. The process to do so is stupidly simple, and you don't even need to be an ambassador to do so.

DS would be nice, too. I fear that this may be the last generation where DS emulation by a Nintendo handheld is actually viable. I do have to wonder, if they change things up, how they plan to support and/or preserve 3/DS titles after their manufacture's stopped.

Gotta do something. Makes a nice change to have this place so active anyway. xD

One of these days I'm going to crack open my 3DS XL and get these things; with Sega and Atlus both being a bunch of bastards over their localisation here - not 3DS related, but Sega are now "looking into" Project Diva X here despite having released three Miku games here already - I've got motive to. There are some amazing GBA titles that would benefit hugely from 3DS VC releases...especially considering the Wii U is a rotting corpse and releasing them on the Wii U VC is a waste of time. Sales won't skyrocket because of GBA virtual title exclusivity.

DS would be nice too, but since the 3DS is backwards compatible I can't see it happening, unfortunately. Meaning I need to hunt for the DS titles I want on eBay still...and there are a lot of those.

I predict more virtual console releases. Probably on the home console instead of the handheld. Because, you know, Nintendo.

Meh, I'm getting the new Zelda game on the Wii U instead of NX because it's been designed for the Wii U. This isn't the first time a Zelda game was developed primarily for a certain console, only to also be released on the newer one as a launch title.

I just hope Zelda Wii U turns out better and more memorable than Twilight Princess...

...I was just about to agree with you and like your post, but then you dissed Twilight Princess, so that went out the window. Wind Waker aside, Twilight Princess is easily the best 3D Zelda title to date in my opinion. I don't really think the grimdark Zelda titles are comparable to the cel-shaded ones anyway; tonally they're completely different. Which is ironic, because Ganondorf easily gets the most violent end in Wind Waker when he gets at least fifteen inches of glowing steel stuck in his cranium. Freakin' hell, that was crazy.

That said, I bought Twilight Princess on Gamecube instead of the Wii. Motion controls and Zelda do not mix; Skyward Sword more than proved that by being an absoute bloody disaster.

Didn't stop being buying both the HD Gamecube Zelda titles on the Wii U more recently, though. God only knows I needed something to play on the console, and they actually improved both - Wind Waker especially it was quite noticeable because of the faster sailing. That removed a good 80% of the irritation I had with the game and made it substantially more enjoyable exploring the world.

I need to head back to TP one of these days.

Right now it's basically my FFX, which essentially means it's the non-FFVII/OoT entry that gets ungodly praise but I just remember that one thing, among various things, that it did that I didn't like and stared at me the entire way through. In X, it was Tidus, and when your game's protag is unlikable and loud and can be a real hit to your experience. With TP, I was going through some pretty bad shit at the time, so I worry that I won't be able to get into it because it's become associated with it. That, the wolf- really wasn't a fan of the wolf sections. That was...10 years ago now, so who knows if things have changed, but...well. Also, some of the designs and environments were off-putting, which is a shame because other designs, such as those of the main characters and antagonists, were fucking brilliant.

Excuse my French.

But who knows how I'd feel about it today. I might nab the Wii U version sometime. I will say, though, that I don't think Zeldu U/NX is quite the same case as TP was on GC and Wii U, largely due to its development cycle likely being different by a fair deal. Only real similarity I'm suspecting so far is that they're both the same game on different consoles, but whether it'll be built for one or the other or be as half-assed as TP's Wii port- dunno about the former, really doubt the latter.

Also, made a not-so-forum game. Contribute! For fun and great justice!

It's "the other one" then. A lot of long-running franchises always seem to have at least two instalments that get glorified to hell and back. Even though FFX was the first FF on PS2, I've never been able to understand the why of that one...especially with FFXII also on the PS2 and being better in every conceivable way.

In TP's case it's not so surprising though, as it took the fandom years to get over the fact that Wind Waker was actually amazing, and TP was what they had been clamouring for ever since the Gamecube was released. I wouldn't say much in it has changed, save for that it feels a little smoother than it did on Gamecube. It's aged better than a lot of titles from around that era. But then, when you consider that Nintendo games rarely change their formula in any noticeable way, that's not too surprising.

It's difficult to say when we don't even know what form the NX is going to take...you can't even infer it'll be a home console from that because you can run Wii U games on the gamepad, after all. I have very little faith in Nintendo at the moment and, whilst I've learned not to underestimate them - they're due another good generation around about now - I won't be holding my breath for a miracle from NX or the new Zelda. Colour me only vaguely curious.

That reminds me...we should revive the Have You Played? game somewhen. That was fun back in the day.

So i played a bit of Parasite Eve via ePSXe and i was like... Now this is a game i remember playing when i was much younger (but was so in love with Aya's magnificent EVERYTHING) and everything that made me want to play the game was there. The cutscenes, the music, the scary looking enemies, heck, I had a magazine (Expert Gamer i think) that had a PE1 Walkthrough, and I remember dang well how deliciously well made a lot of Magazine Walkthroughs were. Sadly, when i did have my PE1 on our PSX, our PSX was already experiencing wear and tear to the point that FMV cutscenes were the bane of its existence (;( feels bad man))

So when i was planning to play more Parasite Eve, i slept in early.. so i had a dream, a magnificent dream, which is why I woke up so damnabbit early. Parasite Eve rebooted as a faster, edgier, bloodier, gorier, PUNCHIER and HEAVIER 3rd person action-RPG game but with the fluidity of a First Person shooter, (It could have been something like Doom + Borderlands but everyone wants to see Aya's glorious everything) where Aya is armed with several weapons like a Combat Auto shotgun, her signature M16A4 AR, and even her pea shooter. She was also doing some brutality-laced Glory kills like breaking a mitochondria mutated rat's neck with her legs, and ripping a mutant dog's mouth in two by snapping them with her bare hands. Then while fighting off some mitochondria mutated nightmares, Aya was also fighting some Possessed Soldiers with Heavy Machine Guns..

It kinda helped that I was listening to this track from DOOM's glorious OST while i was jogging the night away:

and i was thinking of Parasite Eve... like why did I never play this more often as a kid, especially since its battle system was something that Vagrant Story made extended use out of...

Twilight Princess wasn't exactly bad, it just didn't really give me a sense of wonder or "wow" as Ocarina or Majora's Mask. Majora's Mask was the last truly stellar 3D Zelda imo. Everything after that was "good, but I feel like it's missing something."

Does the 3DS have a decent Zelda game? I might need to look one up, or at least borrow one from a friend.

****************

Just cleared out the 1st Day on Parasite Eve. Now on to Day 2.. Fusion.. Oh i know a Fusion that it needs.. No more Aya on her sleek and delicious Black Dress and she's now wearing her shirt + jacket and pants. I have a feeling that if ever i do some sort of "let's play" with PE, I'd fill it with loads and loads of comedic cock jokes and necessary innuendos when I'm doing the narration, of course I'd need help of a much more sane and mentally more stable friend to make sure that don't get a warning from Square Enix that I'm using a lot of "foul language" with their intellectual propery.

A 3DS Zelda that isn't a remake? While I haven't played it myself, I hear A Link Between Worlds is great. I'm sure Meloetta can tell you about it, Xin.

Hmm Melly might either go ballistic or something. But then again, we can all wait.

So i wonder what would happen if i actually made a "lets play" (Sort of) of Parasite Eve.. i already pictured myself filling my commentary with loads of dick jokes and smutty references while a much more mentally stable friend would help me calm down so...

You all know how most "lets players" just lifelessly narrate things without even providing their own style into the mix? If I were them, I wouldn't just narrate these dialogue texts but I would say it something like this:

[PokeCommunity.com] Back to the Grind(stone)

"Were here live in front of the COCKnergie Hall, which has become a scene of complete g**g bangings and wild parties!"

[PokeCommunity.com] Back to the Grind(stone)

"I would like to represent the citizens of the city, and take you out on a date, so i can have a lil one on one over a campfire if you know what i mean >:))"

[PokeCommunity.com] Back to the Grind(stone)

(Melissa Heart reading)

"We've done a background check on Melissa Heart. She has no relatives, because she was born out of a teen pregnancy and was disowned by her own parents because they couldn't afford to take care of the kid in exchange for their drugs and alcohol! And she has no close friends, because she's a druggie, often sick because she was always smoking crack and being high on acid!"

And during the middle of that, my much calmer friend would be doing some much more sensible side comments about what's happening and stuff.

I dunno what the f**k I'm talking about but yeah.

Wait...what? What do I have to go ballistic about this time? You saying I'll go ballistic? Well, I DID just receive an e-mail from Amazon saying they'd essentially fucked up my Anima pre-order...sigh. I suppose I'll give them the weekend and then just pick it up from GAME on Monday or something. I need to finish off Resi 5 (today, damnit) anyway, and I can always play Disgaea 5 some more...and get those games in the sale I keep meaning to get.

Also, Mawa made a Zelda topic, we should totally post in that. But, since you asked here...awaaay I go.

If you don't have A Link Between Worlds on 3DS, I'd recommend you get it - it's the best Zelda title they've released in years, and substantially better than the remasters (they are not remakes, damnit!) of the N64 titles. It borrows a lot from ALttP - the map, the top-down perspective, etc - but it succeeds admirably in being a fun, unique little title all by itself. It suffers from the same flaw every Zelda game since OoT has - too short, too easy - but it's good whilst it lasts, and the linearity is broken up somewhat by the rental system.

Don't buy Triforce Heroes unless you have two friends you can play with, for god's sake. Local friends you can meet. The online multiplayer is region locked, and by yourself it's tedious as all hell; a far cry from Four Swords Adventures. You can safely skip this one, it's one of those missed opportunities - great idea, bollocks execution.

If you have a New 3DS and you don't have Hyrule Warriors Legends you're missing out, too. It's much better. Whilst it perhaps isn't quite so impressive visually, the frame rate is actually higher and more consistent on the N3DS than the Wii U...how messed up is that. But the additional Wind Waker content makes it more than worth experiencing again, and as a DW fan you'll enjoy it.

The 3DS also has access to virtual console Zelda titles - all three GBC ones and A Link to the Past if you have a New 3DS. I've got, like, eight digital VC Zelda titles on my 3DS, haha.

Am I a fool to actually love or at least giggle and like any sign of like romance subplots in video games? Like in Persona 3-4 and probably even a bit in PQ? I remember why i have a SPECIFIC save slot in my Persona Q file before the Group Date Cafe boss ;)

I do need a healthy balance of stuff. Its not all blood and guts that should be in my system ;)
