Question: Being a Supporter

Well, I was browsing the Community, as I do each evening, and I noticed a Forum that's not normally there (the Supporter's HQ) and when I checked, I was suddenly a Tier 2 supporter, and I just wanted to ask why this is. I'm curious, since I don't think I've donated anything yet.

A lot of members that won in the egg hunt have been donating for other people that are non supporters~ Perhaps you were donated to anonymously. :3

Team fail donated Tier one to me. I think you can donate without giving a Gift card and the OP's donator probably did.

Perhaps Steve sent out messages as Team Fail was donating to a lot of people at once, apparently; he also gave me a Tier 1 giftcard, which Steve PM'd me about.

I don't understand how else you would know who donated for you if you weren't PM'd about it. =/

Some people would like them not knowing and then be like. I gotcha crap now gimmie stuff.

But there is a giftcard thread. And I was given a giftcard too. So I assume you can do it without Steve telling.

The giftcard isn't required. You can donate, and have the choice of doing it without the person you're donating to knowing. In those cases, perhaps Steve / Rukario just doesn't notify the receiving member.

if prize winner requested a gift card for giving their winnings, they were sent out.. all other prizes were done anonymously or directly to the winner.

not all were gifts and there is no separation from those that are gifts.

We're still discussing what we'll do about that ^___^; If we decide on supporters not getting "upgrades", we'll just PM you guys to tell us who else you'd want to donate to.

I don't think that would be fair at all, like they earned it? Just because they already donated doesn't mean anything... Even though I don't apply...

I am unsure how I got my supporter too... I only noticed just now so I am yet to look aound for clues XD But I was away for the whole of the Easter Hunting and it says I donated $1 (contest Prize) in the donations page :/

Meaning that someone that won figured you deserved supportership and gave part of their prize to you. :)

I actually have to agree with this. There were some (I imagine all) winners who put in a lot of time just trying to find all those eggs hidden around the forum, and if they wish to use their prize to update someone else's supporter status, then so be it. It's their winnings, they should be able to choose who they want to give it to regardless of the user's current status. I have nothing to gain from this obviously, but I don't think it's fair that a person has to be told that they can't give it to someone just because they're already a supporter or even a staff member. Not really much of a prize if a user can't even do what they wish with it in their way.
