Best Accents

Oh, so over there they refer to the common British accent as Cockney? o_O Over here the main definition of a cockney accent is the accent that poor, inner-city londoners had back in the 1800s, the really, really thick accent. I didn't know it had a different definition in England.

And of course most Britons don't talk like they talk on American TV. I've spoken to British people before and they almost sound like us...

I agree with Teara, they have pretty distinct accents. ^_^ Though _some_people_might not realize how cool that is. >.>;
British accents have also kind of been a favorite of my mom, and to some extent me too. Some people had ?em at Disney World and they were nifty. :3

no thats not what i meant, the british accent varies from place to place, (geordie, liverpudlian, mancunian, yorkshire and of course cokney) its just when i see american tv shows and films all the accents for british ppl seem to be the same, its a bit like when i see programs over here in britain where ppl r supposed to be american, you only hear one kind of accent, but i know a few american people and they all speak different. i was just saying that the people who tlk like tht arent nessacarily right, if you know what i mean, im going to stop now coz im writing myself in to a corner... X-S

Well, let's see... I like a lot of different accents! The New Zealand one is pretty, and so is the British. I got to talk to my penpal in England on the phone once, and she has the prettiest accent! Mine is just... Just... Southern! O_o Though, you can't really tell, except for the fact that I say 'yall' sometimes, lol. Everyone here says it so you kind of catch on, and it becomes a habit.

Anyways, I also like the French accent, and Australian.

You saying y?all? That, I would love to see. =o

Err... French accents... terrible terrible experience every time I'm talking to a French guy. It's either the fact that english stuck on French accent sounds like gibberish, or my hearing is even worst than I thought. Then again, he failed to understand me as well... >>;

Maybe you were speaking through a computer mic? ;p
I can usually understand people despite accents though. I want a cool one. ;_;

Lol i like israeli ones since i can do em :P

Lol, I know. ^_^; It just comes naturally now, though. I'll just say it without realizing. That's really it, though... Except well, I'll say, 'I'm about to fix a drink!', or something like that. Here, when you say fix in that sort of way, it means that you're going to make something. This was a funny discussion that Satoshi-kun and I had on AIM:

Kayleigh: Brb, I'm going to go fix a drink!
Satoshi: You're going to fix a drink...? (He couldn't figure it out.)

I didn't realize that he didn't know what I meant until later. He's probably still confused. Ah, oh well, lol.

uhh...my accent? It's kinda Mexican meets Southern. If you've listemed to my voice files in that thread...you'd be able to tell, but I really can't explain my own accent...

I think European accents in general are the best...as long as they're not so thick to the point I can't understand a word of anything >.<

Well i have to say i like german ones the best. I don't know what it is about them i just realy like them. I could listen to greman accent all day. Just love them.

I'm from britan so i have a brittish accent, but are accents are not as posh as people think, in t.v shows and stuff they put it on, only the queen speaks so much like that, I love austrailn accents to!

Australian accents are really cool too!
