[Best Veteran March/May 2011] A new professor in town - Kanto Adventure PG13

"Ok. Bye Misty. See you around," Kairi told her.

"Bye Kairi. Good luck on your quest of catching water Pokemon," Misty waved as Kairi recalled Gyarados. She and Sean walked out with Kairi holding Togepi and Pikachu following behind. When they got to the building that connected Route 5 with Saffron to Route 6, Kairi called Gyarados back out and her with her Togepi and Pikachu got on his head,"Come on. Let's go Sean," Kairi said with a grin.
 
A Brand New Adventure​


James was sat by a roaring fire reading a book on former Pokemon league champions, he was intrigued by Lance as he has always loved the power and grace of Dragon Pokemon. Just then as he was really getting into his book. His mother called him into the kitchen.​

" James you better get in here ".​

" Okay Mum I'm just coming ".​

" Here James listen to the Radio, theres something about a Professor giving out starter Pokemon ".​

" Wow I thought Professor Oak had already given out all his Pokemon ".​

" No it's Professor Maple she's just moved to Pallet Town from Celadon City ". The radio report then blurted out.​

" And finally a word for any aspiring pokémon trainers out there. Professor Maple, who has recently moved into Pallet Town from Celadon City, has sent a letter in to the station. In her letter she is offering trainers between the age of 11 and 18 the chance to become a pokémon trainer. She is offering the pokémon on a first come first serve basis, so trainers make sure you are up early and make your way to her lab tomorrow morning. Her lab opens at 10 o'clock, so be there bright and early to avoid disappointment... Well that's all it says in the letter. Well, I think offering older trainers the chance to get a pokémon is highly unorthodox; it is tradition in Pallet Town that a child receives their first pokémon at the age of 10. Maybe the new professor believes in second chances? Well, it will certainly be interesting to see how this one unfolds ".​

" James I've always thought this moment in life would come for you so I've contacted your Father and he contacted One of his friends at the Docks and he's managed to get you a ticket for tonight. So it looks like your going on a Pokemon journey through the Kanto region ".​

" Thanks Mum, tell Dad I love him too I best get going then ". He said with tears in his eyes ".

" Yeah kid it's your time to shine, are you going to be a Co-Ordinator or a Trainer ".

" I'm going to be a trainer so I can challenge the Pokemon league and become a Champion like the great Lance ".

" That's great James, go get packing ". James then moved upstairs and into his bedroom he collected all the things he would need he clothes, toothpaste and co, his money and his emergency money. He then went downstairs and opened the door.

" Bye Mum I love you ".

" Bye James call me everytime you get a new badge ".

" Okay that's a promise ".

James made his way towards the Docks, they were just Five minutes from his house. He saw the big ferry docked, a lick of paint on the side read S.S. Anne, he looked towards the entrance and saw his Father's friend Captain Stern. He paid no attention to him and walked onto the boat, he found an empty cabin and fell asleep, it was going to be a long journey to Vermilion City.
 
(Waaaaay OT: Wow, someone else British like me in this RPG (I can tell cause you say mum) welcome :))​

Sean and Kairi borded Gyarados, and then off they went. Riding a water Pokemon felt different to riding a boat, probably because when you're on a boat you're actually way above the water, and if you're riding a Pokemon, you're right above the water with your shoes touching it.
Gyarados moved smoothly through the water, in a relaxing manner. They were swimming right past Route 5, and the view looked amazing when you're on water. Then, they passed Saffron City, seeing all the large city buildings, and modern city life as it is, like being on one of those tour boats. They then went through a slim tunnel on a large building, which was dark but not very dark, illuminated by the mass morning sunlight. When they came out of the tunnel, they could see Route 6, and just some huge grass. But a few seconds later, they arrived back at Vermilion City. "It looks like we're here, Kairi." he told her. Gyarados swam around the city calmly, but then turned, right outside of the Gym. "This must be the Gym. It looks nice." Sean was intrigued by the way it was placed right next to the water. Gyarados kept swimming, until reaching a sandy beach, with a large ocean cruise in sight. "I think we should stop here, Kairi." Sean thought now would be the time to get off.​

@FlareonFan & Konekodemon - When did they install this waterway from Cerulean to Vermillion? You appear to be surfing accross land... oh well leave it for now, but get your bearings right in the future...

DING-DONG

" WE HAVE ARRIVED IN VERMILION CITY ".

James awoke from his deep sleep, his journey was to begin. He made his way off the ferry and into the depths of Vermilion City, he checked his watch it was already Eight O'Clock he had just Two hours to make his way to Pallet Town. Luckily before he left Johto he had seen an advertisment on the TV saying that they were Dodrio rides in Vermilion that could take you anyway in Kanto. He just had to find the Dodrio man. He walked into the Pokemon Center so he could get infomation.

" Hello, how may I help you ". Said a person he recognised from Olivine City, it was Nurse Joy.

" Nurse Joy it's me James from Olivine City ".

" Uh I'm sorry you must be refering to my Sister, you see each City, Town or Village that has a Pokemon Center also has a Nurse Joy and we are all Sisters ".

" Oh okay can you give me directions to the Dodrio Man ".

" I'll give my Sister from Olivine your love next time I talk to her, anyways the Dodrio man is left here until you reach the Pokemon fan club and he runs the stall next to it ".

" Thanks Nurse Joy I'll see you next time I'm in Vermilion ". Said James as he strolled out of the Pokemon Center. He turned left and noted that he saw the Pokemon fan club and he saw a series of stalls. He made his way over to stalls he looked for the sign. He saw a man clasping a Pokeball in his hand. " Hi are you the Dodrio Guy ".

" Why yes I am young laddie, how may I help you ".

" Can I rent a Dodrio so I can go too Pallet Town ".

" Youngster it would be my honour but may I enquire why "?

" Um I need to go there so I can collect my starter Pokemon, from Professor Maple ".

" Young lad I would normaly charge Two Thousand for a journey that long, but seeing it's for a good cause it's free for you ".

" Thank you Sir ".

" Go, Dodrio. Right this is how we do this I get on the Dodrio and I hold the reigns, you climb up then you hold on to my waist and just enjoy the experience. We will arrive at around Five to Ten ".

James jumped up onto the Dodrio and clasped onto the man's waist, then he sat back and watched as everything turned into a blur, James was really enjoying the experience the breeze felt really good on his face. He leaned back and before he knew it he was asleep. He was awoken by the kind man.

" Young lad we're here ". James slid off the Dodrio and he spotted Professor Maple's lab and started to make his way over there.
 
Tough Love

Last time:

Sandshrew however made a come here motion and grinned

"Pidgey, you should calm down if you wanna win this." Rini grinned. "Not that we're going lose to your cute little butt."

Sanshrew winked and blew the girl a kiss.

Rini blinked a few moments in surprise as she thought over her earlier words. Then she clinched her fists as a thought dawned on her. "That was not a complement!" she stomped her foot.

Pidgey rolled his eyes and sighed.

Sandshrew jumped at Pidgey and slashed him across the face, causing the bird to reel back in pain, and rub at his face with a wing.

"Use Sand Attack!" Rini yelped, saying the first thing to come to mind. "Then Tackle!"

As the sand was flung on Sandshrew he curled himself into a tight ball to raise his defenses. When Pidgey flew through the sand and tackled him, Sandshrew still curled up flew into the air, bounced into a tree, rebounded and hit Pidgey square in the face.

A large bump blossomed on the bird's head, and he turned angerly to look at his trainer who looked shocked.

"Umm.... my bad..."

Pidgey began chasing her around, pecking at her head.

Sandshrew uncurled himself and fell over laughing.

"Nothing about this is funny.... You......sand mouse!" Rini yelped, as she covered her head to protect herself against Pidgey's raining blows.

Sandshrew looked insulted for maybe almost a full minute, before he fell over laughing again.

"Attack that thing, not me." Rini winned. "I'll umm.... buy you a treat later."

Pidgey stopped pecking her and though it over for a minute, before nodding and flying over to land before Sandshrew once more. He chirped and kicked up some sand in disgust.

Sandshrew stuck his toung out, blowing a rather large raspberry.

""Use Gust!" Rini suddenly remembered the bird's newest attack.

Sandshrew dodged to the side, but Pidgey was ready for him. He clapped his wings and summoned a second gust, that lifted the Sandshrew off the ground and swirled him into the air.

"Sandshrew sandshrew!" the small pokemon yelped as he was swirled about in the air, then he yelped in pain as Pidgey suddenly flew in tackling him into a nearby berry bush. He emerged sticky and covered in bulk berry juice.

Rini covered her mouth as she tried not to laugh. "Heh...." she gasped, then broke out giggling as she watched Sandshrew lift one leg, then the other shaking them free of the sticky juice.

"Shrew...." he gasped, then glanced at Rini curiously. "Sandshrew....?"

"I'm sorry." Rini tried to catch her breath. "You just look so cute and helpless like that."

"Sand!" he growled then took off running at Rini.

"Ahh, Pidgey Tackle!" Rini yelped, as she wondered if the pokemon would really attack her.

Pidgey turned and took off quickly, aimed for Sandshrew's belly.

Sandshrew used the last bit of his energy, hopped over Pidgey and flew at the human's face. He actually had little hearts in his eyes. "Shrew!"

Rini's eyes widened. "Don't attack...." she closed her eyes and braced herself.

"SMOOCH!"

"OH MY GOD!!!" Rini shoved the lovey dovy shrew off of her, and spit on the ground. "That was just so....."

Sandshrew blushed. "Sandshrew...." he twirled his foot in the dirt.

"Ewwwww....." Rini finished, having not been able to think of anything else. "Why do I always find the weird ones?"

Sandshrew fell over, wheather it was from shock at her statement or exhastutuon Rini didn't know.

"And stop gawking at me!" Rini turned to glare at Pidgey, whose beek was pratically dragging the ground. "Pokeball go..." she mutted and dropped the ball on the shrew's head.

Sandshrew was turned into a beam of light and sucked into the ball, which began to shake wildly.

Kairi and Sean were just about to enter the gym when they saw this weird booth. Kairi read it,"Ratful tickets. You could win two tickets above the best cruise in the world. The St. Anne. Wow! I'm going to try this Sean." It was one of those things where you turn a wheel with balls in it and if the right one falls out you win,'I know I might not win. Oh well.' Kairi thought as she turned the wheel.

The wheel spinned then released a golden ball,"That's it!" Said the man,"You win, the tickets above the St. Anne."

He handed them to Kairi,"Oh well! Guess you can't loose em' all." Kairi said with a grin.

She handed Sean one of the tickets,"Let's go check it out now," Kairi said as she returned Gyarados, forgetting all about Sean's gym battle. All her thoughts were on the St. Anne.

(Hey I just realized something, were talking about Vermillion City when slls81 hasn't even put it up yet. Sorry about this slls81)

To Vulpix Or Not To Vulpix​


James gasped when he saw the big doors of the laboratory, he was now having Second thoughts he was scared out of his mind. He then plucked up courage and walked into the vast building.​

" Hello is anybody here ". He shouted whilst his whole body was shaking.​

" Oh you must be here for your First Pokemon ". Said a woman he presumed was Professor Maple.​

" Yes thank you Professor ".​

" Your just in luck I've got One Pokemon, it's the Fire type Pokemon Vulpix ". She said as she was handing James the Pokeball, Pokedex and Five other Pokeballs. " Why don't you scan it with your new Pokedex ". James took hold of the Pokedex and scanned it over the Pokeball.​

The Fox Pokemon. The Pre-Evolved form of Ninetails. It controls balls of fire. As it grows, it's Six tails spilt from their tips to form more tails.​

" Thanks a lot Profesor Maple, bye ". Said James as he started to make his way out of the Lab.​

" Bye, remember if you ever have more than Six Pokemon on you at One time you can send One back to me ". James opened the doors and walked out with a smile on his face. He already knew he had to make his way to Viridian City, but he didn't know how to get there, he then saw a sign that read. Route 1. The pathway for budding trainers.

" Go Vulpix ".

" Vul Vul Pix ".

" Hey Vulpix me and you are partners now, we're going to win lots of battles together ".

" Vul Pix ". She said excitidly.

" Come on Vulpix lets go to Viridian City ". He said as they entered Route 1.​

Oak or Maple ?​


" Wait One second ". Said a voice that came from behind James. James turned around to see a young Child no older than Ten, he was dressed in a funny way he looked quite alot like a Ninja.​

" Ah aren't you cute, now I'm going to leave, you go home to Mummy and Daddy okay ". The kid scowled at these words.​

" No I saw you coming out of that Second grade Professor's lab, I'm guessing you got your First Pokemon. I got mine off Professor Oak and it's alot stronger then yours ".​

" Oh yeah, it's on I choose you Vulpix ". Vulpix moved foward and growled at the kid gnawing it's teeth.​

" Humph this will be too easy let's destroy him Charmander. A lizard like Pokemon emerged from the Pokeball.​

" Char Char ".​

" Hey Vulpix let's see what Dex says about Charmander ".​

" Vul Vul Pix ". She growled in agreement.​

Charmander

The lizard Pokemon. The Pre-Evolution of Charmeleon. The fire on the tip of it's tail is a measure of it's life. If healthy, it's tail burns intensly.​

" Charmander let's start this One off use Growl ".​

" Vulpix dodge it ". But you can't dodge what you can't see the Growl attack send Vulpix scuflling back on to her back foot.​

" Humph this is too easy you can finish right here right now use scratch ". Charmander jumped up into the air then hit Vulpix with it's talons knocking her out in the process.​

" No Vulpix ". But she didn't get up.​

" Too easy you are such a weakling, see you around. Charmander return ". With a flash of Red Charmander returned to it's Pokeball and the child walked off towards Viridian City.​

" Come on Vulpix get up are you okay "?​

" Vul Vul ". She said rather weakly but she eventually got up.​

" Come on Vulpix let's go to Viridian City ".​

" Vul Vul ". She nodded in agreement.​


James and Vulpix walked along the path. James noticed quite a few species of Pokemon he noticed Rattata's, Pidgey's and Spearow's not sure what to do decided it would be best to fight One of them.

" Alright Vulpix use Ember on that Rattata ". Vulpix let out a fiery ball from it's mouth it was going towards the Rattata, just in time it turned around and jumped over the ball.

" Ra ta ta ". It said James presumed this ment bring it on.

" Vulpix this is the training we need ". Rattata ran towards Vulpix attempting to use Tail Whip. " Alright Vulpix you use Tail Whip aswell, the Two tails met in the middle sending both Pokemon moving back.

" Vul Vul ". She winced in pain.

" Ta Ta ". Said the Rattata it wanted the battle to go on.

" Alright let's finish this Vulpix ". Rattata approached Vulpix and let loose what James thought was a Tackle. " Vulpix dodge it ". But Rattata's trail turned White and it had hit Vulpix before she knew it, sending her smacking into a tree. " Vulpix are you okay ". James asked her.

" Vul Vul Pix ". She said with a will to win.

" Come on Vulpix I have an idea when it uses that move again use Ember on your tail then use Tail-Whip ". Once again Rattata went to use Quick Attack but this time Vulpix was ready she did as James said and put her tail on fire then whipped Rattata with it, sending the Rattata off guard. " Vulpix this our time to win finish it with Ember. The fire attack sent Rattata flying backwards the battle was finished. James looked at the fainted Pokemon then turned around and walked off, Vulpix then followed him.
 
"Sure. A nice time on the cruise would be a great idea," Sean didn't mind doing this before the Gym Battle, "Who knows, I might find trainers there who'll help me train up before we come back."
They squeezed through the patch of trees, "There must be some way to get these trees out of the way..." Sean complained. They came back out to the main area of Vermilion, with the S.S. Anne in sight, "We better get on our way there, now." they carried on, past a few houses, and past the sandy beach, "Kairi, I have to come back here later, to catch a Water Pokemon." he told her. Just then, they reached the line to the S.S. Anne, with the ticket guard taking people's tickets, only saying "Tickets please." over and over again. They waited patiently, throught the line that got smaller and smaller as more people borded. Just then, it was their turn, "Tickets please." Sean reached into his pockets to grab the tickets, until Kairi had already reached them in hers. The guard accepted the tickets, and shown them on. ​
 
"Oh by the way Sean. I've been meaning to ask you, while were on board how about another battle? This time for fun. I promise I won't lose this time. I'm using Pikachu first again, hehe," Kairi said grinning as they reached the battle room, she got her Pikachu ready for battle,"Ok ready whenever you are Sean." Kairi looked around at all the pretty looks vases and stuff in the room,'The St. Anne is very pretty,' she thought as she grinned. She then turned back around focing on the battle ahead of her.
 
Sandshrew

Rini colapsed to her knees once the pokeball clicked shut. She reached out with shaking fingers to grasp the pokeball. Pidgey flew over to land on her shoulder.

"Well looks like we have a new team mate...." she sighed as she placed the pokeball on the ground, and pulled out two others. "How about lunch, then we take on Mt. Moon?"

Pidgey chirped happily, then helped his trainer spread out a small blanket for them to sit on.

"Let's see..... Pokemon food." Rini pulled out several various containers. Then she began going over each. "Pidgey likes....tart with a little bitter. Oddish likes sweet. And Butterfree likes overly sweet." she pored each pokemon their food.

Pidgey immeditely went to dive in, but Rini placed a hand on his head.

"Let's wait for the others, k?" she grinned. "Oddish, Butterfree, and Sandshrew. Lunch time!"

Oddish appeared with the same little springy dance she always used, and Butterfree sparkled as she arrived. They both however glanced curiously at Sandshrew.

"This is our new buddy.... of sorts." Rini grinned nerviously.

Oddish walked up to Sandshrew and held out a leaf. "Oddish." she smiled.

Sandshrew ignored her and insteed plopped himself in Rini's lap.

Pidgey chirped something to Oddish, whose eyes widened.

"Oddish.... oddish?" she looked at the shrew.

"Sandshrew." was all he said with a humph, then ignored her.

"Oddish!" she looked angry, then noticed her food. "Oddish." she hopped up and down.

Butterfree for some strange reason actually looked happy during all of this.

"I wasn't sure what kind of food you'd like. So I fixed the other's. I hope that's ok." Rini patted the Sandshrew on the head.

"Sand sand." Sandshrew hopped off her lap and began digging around in an Oran bush.

Rini pulled the egg from her bag and began polishing it as she munched on a few sandwaches she had bought before she left Pewter. "I wonder when you will hatch?" she giggled, as she thought it over. "I feel like a mommy."

"Sandshrew?" Sandshrew walked back, his arms full of Oran. "Sandshrew." he jerked his thumb at his chest.

"No, you are not the father." Rini sighed.

Sandshrew patted the egg and looked up at her. "Shrew.... sandshrew."

"Huh?"

Sandshrew made a motion.

"And we are not a match made in heaven."

Butterfree giggled around a mouthful of food.

Just as Rini yelled this at Sandshrew, the egg began to glow. This caused Pidgey to abandon her food and fly over to Rini and the egg, knocking Sandshrew completely out of the way in the process. Rini placed the egg carefully on the blanket. Her and Pidgey watched eagerly, as the egg let off a huge flash causing everyone to shield their eyes. When Rini looked back the egg had gone and had been replaced with a tiny, baby pokemon.

"Aah, what a cutie!" said Rini happily.

On the blanket now sat a tiny, predominantly yellow mouse with large black ears. There were further black markings on her neck and tail and pinkish pouches on her cheeks.

"Pii," said the tiny pokemon looking up at Rini...

Sean and Kairi stepped onto the deck, where the sea view was clear. "I'm ready for it Kairi. I won before, and I can definetley win again." he bragged, ready to call out his first Pokemon, "Go, Zubat!" Sean brought out Zubat, as it was one of his strongest. "Now, choose yours." Sean turned back to Kairi.​
 
Baby and Me

Rini looked over the tiny baby pokemon, while Sandshrew sat up rubbing his sore behind.

Pidgey puffed out his chest and chirped at Pichu, who covered her face with her ears. Pidgey looked a little hurt at this and Sandshrew laughed at him.

"Hmmmm......" Rini plucked out her pokedex and held it out at the small mouse.

"Pichu the electric mouse pokemon. The pre-evolved form of Pikachu. Pichu are not yet capible of using their electricity and will sometimes shock thenselves when laughing or surprised."

"So, you'll evolve into a Pikachu huh?" Rini lifted the Pichu up and cuddled her close. She then tickled her belly, making her giggle and squirm.

"Pi pichu." Suddenly a small growl sounded from the baby pokemon's belly, and her eyes suddenly turned tearful. "Pichu....."

"Eh, don't cry. Ummm...." she placed the sniffling baby in Pidgey's wings. "Watch her for a moment ok?"

Pidgey nodded as Rini turned to dig through her bag.

Oddish and Buttterfree looked over the Pichu as well. Pichu seemed facniated but the sparkling Butterfree and she quieted down and reached her paws out. Just then Sandshrew stepped up and grabbed the baby, causing her to squeal loudly at her abrupt change.

"Oddish....." Oddish warned, but Butterfree beat her to the punch.

"Freee...." she smacked Sandshrew in the back of the head. "Free freeee."

Rini then turned back a small bottle in hand. "Good thing I was prepared." she sighed and took Pichu from a startled Sandshrew's arms.

Pichu cried loudly until the bottle was in her mouth, then she sucked hungirly, until she fell asleep.

Rini recalled her pokemon and placed Pichu in her bag, along with Pidgey who curled around the baby and took a nap as well.

"Next stop Mt. Moon." Rini cheered as she finished packing up, and started back along the path to the cave.
 
Kairi released Pikachu, feeling confident due to Pikachu's type advantage against Zubat.

"Start with Thundershock!" said Kairi. Pikachu hurled a jolt of electricity at Zubat, which hit dead on. This caused Zubat to drop a little and she was panting heavily.

"Oh no Zubat," said Sean, "Retaliate with Bite!" Zubat flew towards Pikachu and bit down on Pikachu with her fangs.

Sean smiled, "Don't let up Zubat!" Zubat kept biting Pikachu, and no matter how much Pikachu tried to shake Zubat off she wouldn't let go.

"Oh no Pikachu," said a worried Kairi, then she had an idea, "Pikachu use Thundershock!"


The pouches on Pikachu's cheeks filled with electricity, before he released the electric shock. As
Zubat was still biting Pikachu and the attack was at such short range the attack caused maximum damage and caused Zubat to faint.

"Oh no Zubat," said Sean disappointed, "Next I'll use Beedrill!"

"You can't beat my Pikachu," said Kairi confidently.

"Attack Pikachu with Poison Sting!" yelled Sean starting off the battle.

"I won't let you poison my Pikachu!" cried Kairi, "Quick Pikachu, dodge it with Quick Attack!"

Beedrill lashed out at Pikachu with one of her stingers, but Pikachu disappeared in a flash of movement. Beedrill's stinger struck the empty air where Pikachu's stomach had been a second ago, while Pikachu had moved several feet off to the side.

"Not bad Kairi," said Sean, "But let's see your Pikachu dodge this! Beedrill, pin it down with String Shot!"

Beedrill turned to Pikachu and shot out a string of web that managed to hit one of Pikachu's feet. The web formed an adhesive between Pikachu's foot and the floor, stopping it from moving. Sean smiled, this battle was as good as over...

"Don't be so confident," Kairi stated with a grin, crossing her arms over her chest, "Pikachu cut the String Shot with your Swift!"

Yellow stars shot out of Pikachu, cutting through the thread that was stopping him from moving.

"Pikachu! Attack with Thundershock!" called Kairi. The electric sacs on Pikachu's cheeks sparked up and then released a stream of electricity towards Beedrill.

Unfortunately for Kairi, Sean had been planning for this. "Beedrill quick, stab your front stingers into the ground!"

Beedrill dug her stingers into the floor, bracing herself as it did against. The electric attack hit Beedrill head on, but just as Sean had planned some of the electricity was quickly dispersed into the ground through Beedrill's stingers. The rest continued on through Beedrill's body, however, and Beedrill was starting to look a bit exhausted after the electricity passed through him.

"Now lets try Poison Sting again!" yelled Sean quickly.

Beedrill quickly retracted her stingers from the floor and held one out towards Pikachu as she shot across the short distance between the two of them. Beedrill raised her stinger and made a quick jab against Pikachu, causing the electric pokemon to stagger back slightly. Pikachu then gritted his teeth and growled in pain as poison coursed through him.

"Oh no, Pikachu are you okay?" yelled Kairi, seeing her pokémon was poisoned

Seeing that Pikachu was weakened Sean commanded, "Follow it up, now! Fury Attack!"

Beedrill quickly followed up her Poison Sting attack upon Sean's command. Beedrill lashed out at Pikachu with a flurry of slashes and stabs from the stingers on herforelegs. Pikachu grunted with each strike until one stab from Beedrill pushed Pikachu to the ground. Both trainers held their breath as they waited to see if Pikachu would get back up, he didn't and both trainers had lost one pokémon...

OOC: Hey Flareonfan, I read your comment on page 17 - I'm a brit too ;) Wait, doesn't that make Konekodemon the only non-british one?

"Alright, Mankey, start with Scratch!" Warren shouted and the crazy primate leapt forwards, striking Bidoof across the face with its sharp claws.
"Direct hit!" Warren cried with glee, then did a double take as Bidoof didn't even react. Mankey walked over and stood in front of it. No reaction. Liv just smiled.
"Tackle!" she called and suddenly, Bidoof and Mankey were both flying through the air. They landed right in front of Warren - Bidoof on his feet and Mankey on his face. Warren blanched as the pig monkey pokemon didn't stand up.
"Er...Mankey?" he said, poking the primate with his toe. It looked up at him, moaned a little, then collapsed. Warren blanched. Liv had been right, he had not been expecting that.
"Return, Mankey," he called, "Let's go, Rattata!" Bite and his dad cheered as the purple rat burst from its pokeball and landed, facing the ugly beaver.
"Use Quick Attack!" he ordered and Rattata fle into Bidoof's side, but was also ignored.
"Does that thing have no pain receptors?" Warren shouted in anger, "Like, did you get from one of the Elite 4 or something?" Liv smiled.
"Actually, I found this thing just sittin in the middle of Route 1." I guess someone must have released it there. Easy to catch though - I just threw the ball and it didn't even react." Warren grimaced, torn between amusmant and irritation.
"Rollout!" Liv ordered and Bidoof leapt forwards, curling up into a ball and rolling towards Rattata at high speed.
"You just made a big mistake!" Warren shouted, "Rattata! Go over that rock!" Rattata nodded, then ran forwards, leaping over Bidoof, who turned in a huge, screeching skid. Rattata could see Bidoof gaining on her, butshe put in every last bit of energy and made it to the sloping rock tat Warren had pointed out. Springing forwards, she climbed the rock at top speed and dropped down the other side. Bidoof, rolling at top speed, flew off the ramp-shaped stone and sevel metres into the air. As it reached its peak, it stopped rotating and looked down, just in time to receive another Quick attack to the face. Boosted several feet highed, Bidoof cried out, then fell and hit the ground hard, unconscious.
"Alright!" Warren called, "Great work Rattata!" Liv sighed as she returned Bidoof.
"That was a good battle!" she called and Warren nodded.
"We should probably get going," he replied, "We're almost at Vermillion." Liv grinned.
"So you don't want to eat first?" Warren laughed.
"Sure. We eat, then we go, then I get my next badge!"
 
"Looks like we both have one down. You're doing alright, Kairi. Now, choose your next Pokemon. Hope it's gunna be a good choice." Sean was ready for it. Just because his Zubat was down, didn't mean Beedrill couldn't still win it, or his other Pokemon.​
