Biggest Waste Of Your Time (In a videogame)

I play Black Ops everyday, yet I hate it to bits. Its just so addicting. Ive wasted over 70 hours already, and im only 3rd prestige ahahah, im so bad.

Black Ops was a waste of my time, it was just so much worse than MW2. A lot of people say that Black Ops is still great, but I don't see how people like the game enough to play it everyday.

I wasted like half an hour trying to climb up a ledge on the first level in Jolly Roger Bay (Super Mario 64) trying to get that star. :| dahughalsfdsal I was about to shut off the game. Yes. It was a waste of time. Could have waited til my sister got here to get it. Or something.

Every time I play Dwarf Fortress, I know I'm not going to get anywhere. Not even far enough along to have my fortress end in a spectacular and hilarious manner that would hopefully involve something completely off the wall. No, I just can't learn how to play the game well enough to figure out agriculture, so my dwarfs just starve while I stare at the screen in a bored manner. Yet I still go back and try it again, investing a fair amount of time in trying to relearn everything all over again.

its only a waste of time for me if i don't enjoy the time i spend with the game. the first thing that comes to mind is fallout, i really didn't enjoy any minute of the 6 hours i spent on it.

Collecting all the blast shards in Infamous 1...that and playing the whole game twice through for the trophies associated with karma.

My 166 hours spent in TF2, including the 100 hours spent in the past 6 weeks.

And not a single hat was dropped that month.

I tried tackling the Temple of the Ocean King in Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. I had no idea how to get to the next floor, and in the end I wasted quite a lot of time on it trying to find out how to insert the crystals, which enabled me to get to the next floor, but nothing happened and I gave up. :C

My god, trying to get through the Heart of Darkness in Far Cry 2 with a USAS-12 was a horrible waste of time.

The entirety of Final Fantasy XIII. I can't honestly believed I persevered with that game...I tried so very, very hard to give it the benefit of the doubt, believing that something, ANYTHING - a decent villain, an actual storyline, a change in the gameplay - would come along and make my suffering worthwhile. But then I reached the end.

I've also got a file on Monster Hunter Tri with 300 hours of playtime, and I still haven't finished the single-player mode yet...all that time spent online, battling the same monsters over and over for some different armour. Thinking about it now makes me cringe...especially since I'll inevitably end up doing it again if Portable 3rd HD comes out over here.

Battle trophies on Star Ocean: The Last Hope, as well...much as I love that game...defeat 55 Grigori with Faize? Really? Is it even possible to Platinum this game? =/

I would say that the biggest waste of time i have spent on a videogame would be...
playing Dead Space 2. Just a big DISAPPOINTMENT.
I played it for 1 hour thinking it would get better but it was horrible the whole time. It isn't even scary!!!!!

Would have to say in Pokemon Red or maybe Black too (so much pointless time training my Pokemon in it xD), but yeah with Red I was afraid of going on the S.S. Anne as a kid because I thought it would leave and that I wouldn't get Cut so I spent a lot of time training my Charizard (level 66 in the end). I just felt stupid after doing this and I was xD

Disgaea DS. Waste of my time and money. I didn't know that this was a puzzle-rpg! I thought that this was a hack-and-slash game. D<

Far Cry - the franchise was an utter waste of my time and money.

Good timing, because I'm currently at Vercingetorix after 5 starring every other mission and I'm still not tired of the game. I'm going to call it quits once I kill a Long Gui and max out everyone's stats.

I'm also playing Dragon Quest IV, and I really want to like this game again, but god I hate Torneko's chapter. It's plenty original, but the focus changes from level grinding to gold grinding and it's even more annoying. Good thing the game gets better immediately after the third chapter.

Once upon a time there was this series called Golden Sun.

The first two games were excellent and well designed.

The third game, after 7 freaking years of waiting, was the greatest FREAKING WASTE OF MY TIME. The characters weren't slightly interesting and would simply regurgitate dialogues, the game's puzzles felt disjointed and only one actually had any difficulty, and the game was just too freaking easy in general.

There was, however, one saving grace in this game. And it was

Spoiler:

Think I'm mad? He was the only character that was unique and was interesting to me. And frick he's awesome. He's like my new Ivan to me. One of my favourite characters in the series thus far.

Playing the game Raymond, Ragging Rabbits (forgot the exact spelling of the game), I dont see why I even bought this game for. I am happy that I didn't pay full price for it, I only bought it because you can use the Wii fit board in order to sit on it and play their games with your butt. I guess I know in the future not to buy games like that because they will be very boring. This game is just as bad as the Mario and Sonic games.

The biggest waste of time I can think of in a Video Game that I have recently played was in Digimon World for the PSone. You have to constantly grind in Green Gym to get your Digimon to a Champion or Mega level to get past the next area or boss... only to have it fade away 15-30 minutes after you spent 30+ minutes getting your Digimon to be that strong. I still don't know why I play it to this day, but it seems more than half of your time playing is spent on endlessly grinding the training area repetitively and the rest is just exploring and battling.
