How do I make a new blog entry... I was going to today, but have not yet come across how... and I've searched the forums over, and no one's asked before... So... it's either painfully obvious, or there's a problem with the forums...

Under the blogs page of the forum, there's a bit under the options on the left which says "Post to your blog".

Otherwise, click here. But you need to have either 5000 posts or be a tier 2 supporter.

Well that's crap isn't it? I either have to pay, or post a ton of spam to be able to do something which is free on several other forums... Ah whatever, I'll probably pay sometime in the future...

    You searched real hard when it came to your question about blogs. -_-;;

And you don't have to post a ton of spam, you can get to 5K posts by posting good posts and you'll get there. Or you can read that thread over and see other ways to be able to get a blog.

And I should make one major note... PC isn't other forums.

    O_o

...Why didn't that come up when I searched for it...

Anyways I know that it is possible to get Five-Thousand posts without spamming, but I think that the requirements are a little too strict...

Well, it seems the Staff have/are still currently discussing this.
If you read through that thread you will find that they are may consider lowering it in the future. It seems they wanted to test it on a smaller group of people at first to see how well it worked out.
That's my understanding of the situation, at least; I could be wrong.

Another note... if you don't want to pay for it, and you don't want to rake in 5000 posts? Use Livejournal, or the other forums you mentioned, for your blogging needs. :/ This is how we've decided to set up our blogs and, unless we decide to lower the limits (which I don't actually see happening any time in the near future), that's how it'll stay.

Who cares if you want a blog so hard. It doesn't need to be on PC.

There's a plethora of free alternatives that don't require you to spam or waste your money.

Quit whining and get a blog if you want it so much. Next step is actually finding people who care.

C'mon now, isn't that a bit harsh? I mean, they were just voicing their opinion... and that's part of what CQ & F is about. I didn't really see it as whining either. D: I myself think it's a little too strict as well, but that's just me.

Waka, you're going to have to calm down.
Everyone's opinion is just as valid as yours, whether you think so or not.

In my opinion, i think 5000 posts is way to strict. if i had to say in the matter, it would be 3000 posts. and i can't pay even 1 cent because my family doesn't allow it. but, since I'm just a normal member with no importance at all, i guess my thoughts don't really matter.

If you honestly think that way, what in the world would you blog about on PC? D:

5000 posts does seem a bit much in my opinion too. :\
I could probably reach that, but it might take a long while! :P
Why not make it 3000, like everyone else said.
    I might be able to donate...soon. :\
Not at the moment though, unfortunately...
I had something kind of funny to share with every one, but, maybe something else will happen soon. :\

    HOLD IT!

I would honestantly want to blog about the Vacations i take, such as my recent one all over the west

and i've heard rumors about those free blogging sites...

The sarcastic attitude is not needed here. As other people have said. The upper staff is still discussing this. I remember reading somewhere where they were considering lowering it too two or three thousand posts. I agree that 5,000 posts is a little high. But they don't want a bunch of noobs spamming the blogs.

...we are not specifically looking for more donations.. it just thats one easy way to get the blog usergroup.

What we are looking for is members with something of interest to say to ALL community users for our 'selected' bloggers.

Now as stated by both of us, we will be looking over and evaluating the popularity of the blogs and make adjustments along the way.. if we get 1000 or so users wanting blogs but they only, as a average, have 2000 posts, then we may adjust that post requirement down some, and so on.

BUT, right now, to start off with, we're leaving it as is and are going to see what happens.. and who's interested.

Well, I hope they do lower it, but 2000 is too low. :\
    I'm sticking with 3000. :P

You all really need to understand this. From what I understand, and someone correct me if I'm mistaken, the blogs have been set up for use by three groups of people. There is a reason behind this, and the staff has done an excellent job in coming up with these groups.

The supporters: The blogging system is a feature that cost money, therefore they had to cover the costs of it somehow. In order to pay for this feature, the staff made this a supporter benefit. Which in turn will draw more people to donate allowing the staff to pay off the blogs.

The staff: A no brainier. They have been promoted based on performance and the recommendations of other staff. They keep this place up and running and there is no reason that they shouldn't have blogs.

Members with 5000 or more posts: This group represents people who have spent a long time here at the PC. Obviously they have some very large amount of loyalty to the PC, therefore they deserve the blogs. And no, this doesn't mean that anyone below 5000 posts is not loyal to the PC, it just means that it is significantly more apparent.

That does make a lot more sense.:\
I'm currently trying to get 5000 posts, at least until they change the number of posts, or if I become a tier 2+ supporter.

Heck, I don't like the idea of the 5,000 posts thing, or at least Tier 2 PC Supporter, but I guess it is kind of a present for the people with either of those, to show that they have tried hard to make PC a better place or whatever! By the time I am any of those 2 Blog Entries will be dead stuff!

you could approach me asking if you could be given a blog to talk about the scene.

You do realize that you are going to be swamped with requests for a blog right?

Because noobs (no offense noobs) and some other members who are not smart enough to read the rules are just going to ask you.
