    How many of you expected to see the Japanese box art for X and Y so soon? What do you guys think of them? Which do you like better?

    Even though I'm getting X, the boxart for Y seems SO much better. I hope it's just bad lighting on X's part, because it looks so boring with the lack of colors.​
     
    Well to get Yvetal we will need to get X, I want Yvetal instead of the stag.
     
    I absolutely love the box art for these games. Particularly I like Y's the most and I'm glad the one I'm picking will have good art. The art for X's is good and all, but it just lacks something. It could use a background imo. Though maybe it will look better when clearer and full sized pictures of them are released.

    Nope, X's mascot is Xerneas. Y's mascot is Yveltal and so you need Y to get Yveltal.
     
    They could do like Black and White where they were inversed.
     
    The Xerneas looks fail. Honestly, they SHOULD have thought of a better pose for it... but I'm still lovin' Xerneas!!
     
    Usually the version mascot is the one you can capture exclusively in that the game only so I'm assuming Yveltal will be in Y and Xerneas will be in X. That's why Xerneas is shaped like an X and Yveltal is shaped like a Y. Though with Black and White it was the exact opposite of what everyone was expecting so I guess you could never really know.
     
    Why exactly would they advertise Xerneas on X and Yveltal on Y if they weren't going to be available in the respective versions? Even though Black & White played opposites, the mascot on the box art was the one you caught in said version. Nothing confusing there really.

    Either way I don't get why some are saying X's box art is bland because I love it actually; Maybe that's because I like Xerneas more and was planning on getting X from the start...
     
    Color- and designwise i like X's more. Having the X on the box makes it all more symmetrical than the Y. Also. Xerneas fits the color scheme better, since he's blue himself. i Wish they had picked another color for the Y cover

    Reshiram was on Black's box art, Zekrom on White's. X is Xerneas, Y is Yveltal.
     
    Well I can't judge a game by its box art (does that ring a bell?)...
    When further details on the legendaries & their types are revealed maybe then I'll decide which version to get, or maybe I'll just choose based upon version exclusive pokes?
    Anyway I like both designs, you people may hate the X one cuz it has a blank space but actually it doesn't, it's probably a shade of blue (maybe cyan?) but as there is a bad flash effect we see it as white.
    Again, wait for the REAL box arts before you judge.
     
    I'll admit I didn't expect to get so much news this month, but 5 months down the line is a pretty reasonable date to receive the box arts. With the short localization period I'm just wondering if the English box arts won't be long to follow now? Oh, and I prefer the Y Box art to X which is kind of changing my decision of which version to get ;;
     
    Looks magnificient. Also, the "X" has leaves/trees and the "Y" has clouds/sky. A hint at their (partial)Types ?
     
    I'm kind of upset about it. Not because I'm not loving it, but because I was going to use it as a basis of my decision for what game to buy. There is usually one I like more than the other, but this time I'm really liking the design of both of them! I love the X and Y in the backgrounds for both, plus the art they chose for Xerneas and Yveltal looks great. I'm just so pleased with this generation as a whole c:
     
    I'll tell you, this is the hardest choice to decide between two Pokemon games I've ever come across. Both are so appealing and their boxarts are evenly matched in different ways. My initial choice was X due to preference but now, I'm really not sure whether I want X or Y.
     
    It looks like Xerneas is part Grass from the art. Not sure which art I prefer but at first I preferred Y's though I'm getting X. I like how shiny X is.
     
    I think there both awful (not that I could ever do better).

    I'd like to see the Pokemon showing their 'X' and 'Y' shapes though.
