Brynhildr in the Darkness / Gokukoku no Brynhildr

Oooh didn't even realise how similar it was to Elfen Lied. It's been too long xD

In any case, watched episode 2 and 3 in blade's livestream, and watched episode 1 on my own afterwards. I'm a sucker for these kind of well done OTP relationships in animes, so I was pretty instantly drawn to it haha. And with the violence and twists thrown in there, I'll probably be hooked until it ends :p I honestly didn't really think about Elfen Lied when watching through episode 3, but thinking about the enemy witch's powers, I definitely see similarities. Guess I'm kinda scared to watch any further now, because Elfen Lied did a good job at both toying with my emotions and keep me horrified, while still making me keep on watching D:

The end of episode 3... :(

Spoiler:

Nooo, I felt like crying. He just found his home girl and then that happened. :(
It was kinda expected... They have to add some drama into it.
We had the same in Eotenas... hopefully she won't be resurrected with uber abilities, no need for pills etc...

The third switch. The third switch. Something will happen. She can't be a goner.

Why can't I get emotionally attached enough to care about her ultimate fate, though? I mean, I'd be okay if she somehow stays dead too. :p

Just watched the fourth episode, and honestly, saw that coming. Now I'm even more tempted to read the manga to find out what happens because the suspense is killing me!

I *kinda* saw it coming, but I didn't think it would happen the way it did.

Just read every translated chapter that was available for the series, and it's depressing ;-; There were a couple times where I felt the tears start to form...Okamoto clearly has some sort of sadistic side XD I got a hand cramp clicking through the pages too...

I did the same thing haha. Darn my impatience! In any case, it definitely gets a lot better from the point they're on in the anime. And quite a few new interesting characters. It also gets a lot more perverted though >_> In any case, looking forward to the new episode!

Haha, I don't think it was particularly the impatience that led me to read the manga, but rather potentially seeing how far the anime might be taken. Even though I generally like the manga counterpart better, I like seeing how much of it will become animated within the 13 episodes. I wonder how long the manga is though...

How closely does the anime follow the manga, from what you've read? If they're sufficiently different, I think I'll read the manga as well xD

Hm, to be honest I actually skipped the majority of those chapters because they have already been animated XD But based on the few early chapters that I have managed to read, they actually kept a significant portion of the material in the manga, and used it in the anime. That's probably because each of the chapters are averaging 20 pages each so they can piece together a few of them.

I started off reading the manga from about the point where the third episode would start, I guess. Basically, apart from re-ordering some of the scenes, the anime seems to be following it pretty spot-on. But I obviously can't say anything for any of the future episodes haha.

It's definitely a good read, but based on my own experience, I wouldn't recommend reading some of it just to check it out, if you don't plan on reading past the anime. I got hooked instantly and ended up staying up like half the night to read it D:

Ok that's good to know. I'll just watch the anime then ^^

Am I allowed to double post? If not, sorries :c

But I just wanted to comment on episode 5. I personally found this one pretty underwhelming compared to episodes 3 and 4, but...
