Can We Expect a Crossover Full PkMn Game?

Now I saw that the only PkMn game that had the best of the best crossover and the ability to travel to other regions and meet older characters is HG & SS. I was Kinda teased that they make this only for Johto and neglect others. That doesn't mean I love Johto less than others do. I likeit but I want to see the same concepts with regions of Hoenn and Sinnoh...especially Sinnoh. However, everytime I think of it, I believe it is impossible due to $$$ reasons and also non-relation reason. I believe one of the reasons they made a crossover between Johto and Kanto was due to their closeness. So that won't fit with Hoenn or Sinnoh. But do you expect they would manage to do it? I know they can BUT the problem is they won't. Do you think it is a logical idea, because I know viewers like us LOVE to see reunifications and crossover between new and old character. I also believe that all of the ideas mentioned should be made in RSE remake, it is the only game left with no remake and as I said, a relation between Sinnoh and Hoenn is something.
    ========================================================
So here is what I think:
The character should be set in Hoenn (Since thats where the remake is).
After defeating the Elite 4 and stuff , you get the ability to travel to Sinnoh, through sea most logically. Exactly the same way u traveled to Kanto. The character can then Fully Explore Sinnoh and its Pokemon, he/she also recieves a Sinnoh starter there from professor Rowan. You also get to meet Dawn, Barry and others. Of course a good thing is if your character meets The D/P Character. You get to meet Cynthia of course and you get the ability to catch legendaries there just as SS AND HG. Of course, I'd love to see more than all of this, such as meeting ppl from Kanto and Johto too. All I am asking for is a PkMn game to travel to more than one region. Is it possible? Are the developers gonna think of such thing in the first place? Please share ideas Why or Why not....

I really want to see this I actually want a game where you start in kanto and then go to johto, hoenn and sinnoh.
In the pokemon game time it is that RSE and probarly their remakes are first in time after I think 3 years is started the main characters in sinnoh their journey so unlogical that you can meet the character DPPt Lucas and Dawn because tey where on their journey yet.

Well, the plot in Sinnoh is set 3 years after the plot in Hoenn iirc. So you'd go there and the main characters would just be sitting in their homes, playing with toys because they'd be 7 years old. Going from Hoenn to Sinnoh wouldn't work, mayyybe in D/P remake (which is another game they haven't remade, Hoenn isn't the only one) they could have you going back to Hoenn, but I don't see it in Hoenn and honestly I don't think they would do it in Sinnoh either, even if it's slightly more likely.

I doubt a Ds or 3Ds cartridge could hold it all.

And like Toujours said, there is a lot of time differences which would just be too confusing.

So no, we can't expect a crossover.

256mb the maximum space for a DS cartridge is enough to hold all that lol. Idk why do ppl worry so much about space.

    Anyway..

Johto + Kanto is about the same size as Hoenn. If Hoenn was going to have a crossover it would probably be a few crappy islands or a small region of some sort, just enough to keep you busy for a few more hours.

If you think about what has to go into it... All 5 Regions, every Pokemon from those region, a crap load of scripting and a load more. It wouldn't fit.

The 3DS maximum cartridge size, as things progressed with firmware updates for size compatibility, was predicted to be 8GB. Even with upscaling from GBA (Kanto remakes and Hoenn games) and DS (D/P/Pt/HG/SS/B/W) to 3DS and the possibility of the 3D effect being used for the game, I'd think 8GB is sufficient to house not even all of the five regions and FR/LG's Sevii Islands, but the Orange Archipelago, too.

Well, I doubt that all 5 regions will be in 1 game because there is a limited space to hold everything in the game, such as settings, Pokemon, characters, etc. (like there can only be 1-2 regions per game).

It most likely won't be done simply because the head of Gamefreak wasn't too thrilled with the idea. He was asked about putting more than one region in a game and he said if he did that they'd put in on a home system. Something he is greatly opposed to doing.

Then comes up the travel issue. Other than Kanto and Johto. None of the other regions are close. You'd have to take a boat or plane to the other regions (Plane to Unova according to the Anime) and then that leads to demands for all the routes and regions in between the old ones.

I can see this happening if they ever do finally decide to do some cross over to the Wii or Wii-u or what ever the home system will be. But not anything present.

As cool as this sounds, I don't think something like this will happen in years to come. I don't know about the amount of data the system can hold and all, but levelling cap would be confusing to execute too, some pokemon reaching high 90s or even upto level 100 (maybe).

Alright First, I don't demand more than 2 regions, so like SS AND HG, It might be possible. About the level Cap, you saw how SS and HG handled it and I think it was neatly done so it is no problem. And about the setting and characters crossover, you guys say Hoenn was set 3 years before Sinnoh....ok then, its not neccessarly the character who was 3 years before Sinnoh right?. You can play the character, whose adventure is to date the Sinnoh adventure. I'd like to say though that I don't feel such game can be possible, idk, maybe its a wacky idea for some, but I really anticipate such thing. Especially if it included Sinnoh and Hoenn, Since a Crossover of Johto and Kanto is done. I want to ask though, is it logical? The idea of the crossover...I mean, it was done before, why don't people think about it?

I would like to ask too, what is a home system?

OP stated Hoenn -> Sinnoh Crossover, not around the world tour.

Console system, like Atari, N64. And if you're modern, Xbox, Ps3... Wii (insert kitchen joke here).

Well, they created the Sevii Islands for FR/LG and Kanto for HG/SS so Hoenn may also have a new area, hopefully anyway, I'd love to see the Orange Islands, that would be totally new!

I think that this is a really good idea and for years I have always dreamed of travelling through every region of Pokemon collecting 40 badges and catching every Pokemon in one game. However I believe that this will only happen in many years to come for a number of reasons.

    1. The space on the cartridge for a handheld gaming console would have to be huge 5 regions, almost 650 pokemon, 40 gyms, 4 different pokemon leagues (Kanto+Johto), Battle Areas and many more.

    2. Continuity issues throughout the games. Characters, locations (4 different Safari Zones....), Transport between regions, Level Cap would need to be at least 200.

    3. If you have all 5 regions (or 4 excluding Unova) and you could catch almost every Pokemon in my opinion the wifi system would suffer greatly. Trading would become exclusive for event pokemon or a version exclusive sort of thing, Compeditive Battling would also decrease in variety as everyone would have access to every Pokemon from all the regions. (In my opinion.

Overall I think this is definitly one for the future however I would love to see it done well and if Game Freak ever do decide to undertake this then they would need to do it well. The game could take many years to make because of issues that need sorting out.

    Peace Out!!!

You do have to care because if you dont then your game would probably keep on crashing, Glitches or maybe the game file will restart itself

The only way I see a combination of all five regions is if it isn't for handheld. Handheld consoles don't have the strenght to withstand that much data. But it could be done on a home cobsole. However, they won't be making a game that combines all the games until the franchise decides to end the games all together and will leave you with the ultimante Pokemon game, one that combines every region.

This doesn't make any sense at all.

The main reason they don't do this is because it's an infeasible amount of work to make a game with more than one region - and make it well - at the schedule we usually see Pokémon games pumped out at. Keep looking at Kanto in G/S/C and HG/SS - it's still got a lot of stuff that was discarded from the original games because of time restraints. G/S/C didn't even have a Safari Zone.

Cartridge space is probably the second biggest issue but this only really applies to the map data of place themselves and possibly music. Adding more trainers and gym leaders or whatever to the game takes up a minuscule amount of space, it's not important. Having many locations with unique buildings will probably begin to take up space very quickly especially if they don't recycle textures, but it's debatable whether this will be an issue in the next generation of consoles and handheld systems with much larger storage capabilities. (25GB on the Wii U and 4 / 8GB on the 3DS.)

There's also the balancing aspect of a very long game - it's enough of a problem balancing the level curve for a single game right now so you'd have to completely rework the experience system if you wanted to make a game that spans a much longer series of events.

As much as I would love to see this I don't think it'll ever happen. Who REALLY want's to catch every single pokemon. I'm all for them doing a Double Region game, Maybe the two newest regions or something. Possibly using the Region from Gale of Darkness, and having it host pokemon from all regions. That'd be pretty sweet to.

guys...you do notice I said I want no more than 2 regions right? So my question was if 2 regions were possible not all 5!! Thats too much. And I'd Like if one of these regions was either Hoenn or Sinnoh.
