4th Gen can you batlle pokemon platinum with pokemon diamond

    whell i want to buy pokmemon dimaond but can you batlle with one that has pokemon diamond ?
     
    To put it simply - Yes

    Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum are all fourth-generation pokemon games. They are compatible with one another, meaning you are able to trade and battle among them.
    On that note, keep in mind that Heart Gold and Soul Silver will be fourth-generation as well, so you will be able to trade and battle with those games as well.
     
    Why not just get platinum? But yes you can battle over diamond, platinum, and pearl

    you can trade with Diamond pearl platnum heart gold and
    soul silver
    and you can also trade third generation pokemon games to fourth generation
    by using the pal pak
     
    But didn't the accuracy for Hypnosis change in Platinum, so how does that affect the battling?

    I just searched, and its accuracy was the same. I suppose I could be wrong, though I never was aware of this supposed changed.
     
    In D/P, Hypnosis' accuracy was 70%. In Platinum, it was reverted to 60%, as it was in previous generations.
    There's two possibilities; I'm not sure which is correct. The first is that it will always use Platinum's rules, as that's the newer game. Alternatively, it could use the rules of the host game (the one which creates the group, or invites the other player). I'm leaning towards the second option right now.
