Title states it. When you (or your family) go to buy something do you/they use cash or credit cards?

I honestly used credit cards for almost a year now. I stopped though. They're nothing but trouble! Kiddies do not get them! D:

Since the majority of what I buy is off the internet, I just use a credit card :[ I make sure I always have the money beforehand though, so it's all good. :>

I use cash cuz credit has interest, I only use Credit Cards when I have no cash with me, but I always have at least over $60 cash with me.

I buy everything with my debit card, or cash if the establishment doesn't take Interac. :/ I've been meaning to apply for a credit card for a while now but I just haven't gotten around to doing it. I can't imagine I'd use it for anything but shopping on Amazon and other websites that won't accept Paypal. I'd never charge for anything I don't already have funds in my bank account for, though.

As for my family, my parents charge everything to their credit card because they get air miles for every x amount spent on it. :] Again, they don't overcharge the card and all payments are made right on time so there's never any problem with that.

I don't have a credit card, but I'm a pretty responsible person when it comes to money so I'll probably only use it when I really need it. My mom, however, uses her credit cards as if she doesn't have to pay everything back.

My family buys everythin' with debit.

I use cash all the time; since when did people like myself have credit cards?

Hey, I actually buy things. My sister hasn't bought anything for herself all her life.

Then again, she'll be financial savy, while I'll have nothing left.

    You can't use your debit card over the 'Net? If I have to pay something online, I use my debit card. ._. Then again, the debit card system works differently in Canada, I assume, so that might be why... haha. XD;

I usually use my debit card. It's the convenience of a credit card, but without the interest, since it's tied to my checking account.
Oddly enough, I prefer using cash -- but mostly becuase I know it'll be taken wherever I go. But I don't really like carrying around the bills, so I use the card instead.

I don't have a credit card. I might get one later, but mainly to build up credit. I'm really really afraid about getting into too much debt, so... yeah.

Yours are like... half credit cards or something. I remember whining after Mork "lied" to me and said Amazon would accept debit. So I guess there has to be a difference. Our debit cards are only connected to our banks, not to credit cards as well. Or something. I dunno, but our debit cards are different. (Probably for the best anyway--I think I would've gotten way too carried away in the last few years had I been able to order from Amazon on a whim. XD)

That is exactly how I am.
I love my debit card. It gets me everywhere :D

I usually use my debit card as well. It's so much more convenient than having to deal with cash or write a check. And being able to order stuff online with it is great too. And it works at places that only take credit cards - it just withdraws it from your bank account just as if you'd used it as a debit card rather than sending you a bill.

I tend to pay for everything with my debit card.

Cash. I always make an effort not to bring my debit card with me. If I did my bank account would be empty by the end of the day.

Cash or EFPOS, simply because Credit cards rack up debt, and that's the last thing I need.

Where's the debit card option? You killed the poll when you made it given that most answers are debit.

I like cash because it's more 'real' in the sense that it's actually tactile money, and because I'm one of those people who likes to do things the old way.

Cold hard cash, sweeties. No paper trail! XD

I prefer cash since I don't have to worry about it later, and anything I purchase is usually under $20. ^^:

I always pay with cash. I got a debit card a year ago and I hardly use it to buy stuff in stores. I just have it to buy stuff online.

And before I got my debit card, I paid for Ebay stuff with Money Orders. Yeah, it was a dark time for me.
