Surfing's cooler, especially if you have those current puzzles like in R/S/E.

But I still like surfing. Especially in GSC.

The music of caves is legendary. Mt Moon is the most memorable for me.

Surfing is great too but has not the same challenge factor since you only get one one encountered Pokemon and no items to find.

Caves, for the sole reason, you can't find hidden objects on the water.

But I really miss diving... why did they drop that for D/P?!?!

My guess is because there isn't that much water.

I like surfing 'cause I love the sea, for it held many memorable memories; joyous and sorrows...

I hate to go through a cave, since there are SO many wild PKMNs appearing (And I'm sick seeing the floating rock-head Goedude)...

So I am going with surf. ;)

Tentacool is...cool.
Geodude & Zubat are epic annoyances. But searching caves is fun, and you get some rare Pokemon/items at times.
Besides, swimmers are cheapskates.

they're both realy annoying w/o repels, but w/ repels caves are kewler, but w/o escape rope i can get lost...lol

I prefer surfing because you can stick a repel down and surf easily.

While in caves there lots of stuff to move and theres lots of tunnels which get you lost in.

I like surfing more since when I'm always in caves most of the time I get lost. but when I'm lost at sea I can always fly away back to any Pokemon Center. I use reply's all the time when I exploring
