Posting this here because I want to see if this is actually something that would matter enough to people to change, haha.

Normally when you see a thread moved, in the section it used to be in, you'd see something like this:

    [PokeCommunity.com] Change to Moving Threads

It includes the thread name and the poster, but not the reason for moving. Which isn't really a problem per se, but that means that if the moving is less than obvious, then the moderator has to post in the thread, often with just the reason for moving. To be honest I find those posts out of place, especially when the member disagrees with the moving or wants to thank you for moving it, but as of now there's no more efficient way. What I'm suggesting is, instead of the thread looking like that, instead having it look like this:

    [PokeCommunity.com] Change to Moving Threads

Members can't see deleted threads, but this mirrors exactly what a deleted thread looks like; it has who deleted it and the reason why in the same format shown. I think that extending this to moved threads would make it more convenient in general. Moderators wouldn't have to post somewhat off-topic posts in the thread so the person knows why it was moved, spurring off-topic replies. It would also be more convenient for staff, instead of posting and then moving via thread tools it would be all in one place.

Members: Would this be easier for you? Do the off-topic moving posts annoy you? Would you prefer to see the reasoning in the thread instead? Or does it just not matter either way for you?
Staff: Is that enough space to describe why you moved a thread in general? Would it be easier, or about the same?
Coder(s): Is this even possible? Is it too much work compared to the relatively small annoyance of moving posts?

    ...the end! :3

It be easier to know why a thread was moved. Having next to the thread title is the beat place for it that way I don't have to browse through a topic to see why it was moved. Off topic posts don't annoy me much though. I can understand if a person was careless cause I've done that on other forums before.

I guess it's enough space for most cases (ie a simple reason) but I usually like to explain more indepth anyway, and if it isn't enough space for a more complicated instance then... the other option is posting anyways. I also don't have much of a problem with posting on why the thread has been moved (in other words that being off-topic doesn't bother me - often saying 'I am closing the thread' is also off-topic after all to be pedantic), and I also don't find clicking the moved thread link to be a bother to myself in finding out why it was moved.

I see so many threads moved these days, and I can see how replying to such threads with the reason can get annoying, as well as the annoyance of others having to view posts saying the thread got moved. Having the reason for moving in the thread listing itself will give that right away without the user even opening the thread. However, as depicted, the user would still have to click to view the thread to see which section the thread actually went to.

For the sake of convenience, I'm all for such a change.

It's a nice idea, but surely, if a thread's being moved the reason will always be the same? "Wrong section; belongs in [wherever the thread goes]", right? So is there much point in leaving a moving reason? Sometimes I need more than just a little space like that to explain why I'm moving the thread too. I'm not really against this because it wouldn't do any harm and it looks nicer than before but I just don't think it's particularly useful necessary or when, unless there's a more complex reason for moving which would require a post anyway, the reason why a thread was moved is almost always obvious.

What Razor Leaf said, plus that I'd be worried that some mods wouldn't write a serious reason ;p Now, that's probably something easy fixable by a rule saying that the reason must be short & sweet and serious. In that case, I think it sounds like a nice detail, but not completely necessary.

I do think it could be useful. If we got used to adding a message to explain deleted posts, I don't see why we can't adapt to this.

Definitely would be easier when it comes to merging threads with Quick Questions tbh, since we just don't bother posting in the thread because there's like so many threads that need merging :x but yeah most of the time people just don't click so it'd defs help B/W so I'm for it.
